---

1  In¹⁷²² the beginning⁷⁴⁶ was²²⁵⁸ the³⁵⁸⁸ Word,³⁰⁵⁶ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ Word³⁰⁵⁶ was²²⁵⁸ with⁴³¹⁴ God,²³¹⁶ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ Word³⁰⁵⁶ was²²⁵⁸ God.²³¹⁶

2  The same³⁷⁷⁸ was²²⁵⁸ in¹⁷²² the beginning⁷⁴⁶ with⁴³¹⁴ God.²³¹⁶

3  All things³⁹⁵⁶ were made¹⁰⁹⁶ by¹²²³ him;⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² without⁵⁵⁶⁵ him⁸⁴⁶ was not³⁷⁶¹ any thing¹⁵²⁰ made¹⁰⁹⁶ that³⁷³⁹ was made.¹⁰⁹⁶

4  In¹⁷²² him⁸⁴⁶ was²²⁵⁸ life;²²²² and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ life²²²² was²²⁵⁸ the³⁵⁸⁸ light⁵⁴⁵⁷ of men.⁴⁴⁴

5  And²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ light⁵⁴⁵⁷ shineth⁵³¹⁶ in¹⁷²² darkness;⁴⁶⁵³ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ darkness⁴⁶⁵³ comprehended²⁶³⁸ it⁸⁴⁶ not.³⁷⁵⁶

6  There was¹⁰⁹⁶ a man⁴⁴⁴ sent⁶⁴⁹ from³⁸⁴⁴ God,²³¹⁶ whose⁸⁴⁶ name³⁶⁸⁶ was John.²⁴⁹¹

7  The same³⁷⁷⁸ came²⁰⁶⁴ for¹⁵¹⁹ a witness,³¹⁴¹ to²⁴⁴³ bear witness³¹⁴⁰ of⁴⁰¹² the³⁵⁸⁸ Light,⁵⁴⁵⁷ that²⁴⁴³ all³⁹⁵⁶ men through¹²²³ him⁸⁴⁶ might believe.⁴¹⁰⁰

8  He¹⁵⁶⁵ was²²⁵⁸ not³⁷⁵⁶ that Light,⁵⁴⁵⁷ but²³⁵ was sent to²⁴⁴³ bear witness³¹⁴⁰ of⁴⁰¹² that Light.⁵⁴⁵⁷

9  That was²²⁵⁸ the³⁵⁸⁸ true²²⁸ Light,⁵⁴⁵⁷ which³⁷³⁹ lighteth⁵⁴⁶¹ every³⁹⁵⁶ man⁴⁴⁴ that cometh²⁰⁶⁴ into¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ world.²⁸⁸⁹

10  He was²²⁵⁸ in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ world,²⁸⁸⁹ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ world²⁸⁸⁹ was made¹⁰⁹⁶ by¹²²³ him,⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ world²⁸⁸⁹ knew¹⁰⁹⁷ him⁸⁴⁶ not.³⁷⁵⁶

11  He came²⁰⁶⁴ unto¹⁵¹⁹ his own,²³⁹⁸ and²⁵³² his own²³⁹⁸ received³⁸⁸⁰ him⁸⁴⁶ not.³⁷⁵⁶

12  But¹¹⁶¹ as many as³⁷⁴⁵ received²⁹⁸³ him,⁸⁴⁶ to them⁸⁴⁶ gave¹³²⁵ he power¹⁸⁴⁹ to become¹⁰⁹⁶ the sons⁵⁰⁴³ of God,²³¹⁶ even to them that believe⁴¹⁰⁰ on¹⁵¹⁹ his⁸⁴⁶ name:³⁶⁸⁶

13  Which³⁷³⁹ were born,¹⁰⁸⁰ not³⁷⁵⁶ of¹⁵³⁷ blood,¹²⁹ nor³⁷⁶¹ of¹⁵³⁷ the will²³⁰⁷ of the flesh,⁴⁵⁶¹ nor³⁷⁶¹ of¹⁵³⁷ the will²³⁰⁷ of man,⁴³⁵ but²³⁵ of¹⁵³⁷ God.²³¹⁶

14  And²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ Word³⁰⁵⁶ was made¹⁰⁹⁶ flesh,⁴⁵⁶¹ and²⁵³² dwelt⁴⁶³⁷ among¹⁷²² us,²²⁵⁴ (and²⁵³² we beheld²³⁰⁰ his⁸⁴⁶ glory,¹³⁹¹ the glory¹³⁹¹ as⁵⁶¹³ of the only begotten³⁴³⁹ of³⁸⁴⁴ the Father,)³⁹⁶² full⁴¹³⁴ of grace⁵⁴⁸⁵ and²⁵³² truth.²²⁵

15  John²⁴⁹¹ bare witness³¹⁴⁰ of⁴⁰¹² him,⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² cried,²⁸⁹⁶ saying,³⁰⁰⁴ This³⁷⁷⁸ was²²⁵⁸ he of whom³⁷³⁹ I spake,²⁰³⁶ He that cometh²⁰⁶⁴ after³⁶⁹⁴ me³⁴⁵⁰ is preferred¹⁰⁹⁶ before¹⁷¹⁵ me:³⁴⁵⁰ for he³⁷⁵⁴ was²²⁵⁸ before⁴⁴¹³ me.³⁴⁵⁰

16  And²⁵³² of¹⁵³⁷ his⁸⁴⁶ fullness⁴¹³⁸ have all³⁹⁵⁶ we²²⁴⁹ received,²⁹⁸³ and²⁵³² grace⁵⁴⁸⁵ for⁴⁷³ grace.⁵⁴⁸⁵

17  For³⁷⁵⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ law³⁵⁵¹ was given¹³²⁵ by¹²²³ Moses,³⁴⁷⁵ but grace⁵⁴⁸⁵ and²⁵³² truth²²⁵ came¹⁰⁹⁶ by¹²²³ Jesus²⁴²⁴ Christ.⁵⁵⁴⁷

18  No man³⁷⁶² hath seen³⁷⁰⁸ God²³¹⁶ at any time;⁴⁴⁵⁵ the³⁵⁸⁸ only begotten³⁴³⁹ Son,⁵²⁰⁷ which is⁵⁶⁰⁷ in¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ bosom²⁸⁵⁹ of the³⁵⁸⁸ Father,³⁹⁶² he¹⁵⁶⁵ hath declared¹⁸³⁴ him.

19  And²⁵³² this³⁷⁷⁸ is²⁰⁷⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ record³¹⁴¹ of John,²⁴⁹¹ when³⁷⁵³ the³⁵⁸⁸ Jews²⁴⁵³ sent⁶⁴⁹ priests²⁴⁰⁹ and²⁵³² Levites³⁰¹⁹ from¹⁵³⁷ Jerusalem²⁴¹⁴ to²⁴⁴³ ask²⁰⁶⁵ him,⁸⁴⁶ Who⁵¹⁰¹ art¹⁴⁸⁸ thou?⁴⁷⁷¹

20  And²⁵³² he confessed,³⁶⁷⁰ and²⁵³² denied⁷²⁰ not;³⁷⁵⁶ but²⁵³² confessed,³⁶⁷⁰ I¹⁴⁷³ am¹⁵¹⁰ not³⁷⁵⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ Christ.⁵⁵⁴⁷

21  And²⁵³² they asked²⁰⁶⁵ him,⁸⁴⁶ What⁵¹⁰¹ then?³⁷⁶⁷ Art¹⁴⁸⁸ thou⁴⁷⁷¹ Elijah?²²⁴³ And²⁵³² he saith,³⁰⁰⁴ I am¹⁵¹⁰ not.³⁷⁵⁶ Art¹⁴⁸⁸ thou⁴⁷⁷¹ that Prophet?⁴³⁹⁶ And²⁵³² he answered,⁶¹¹ No.³⁷⁵⁶

22  Then³⁷⁶⁷ said²⁰³⁶ they unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Who⁵¹⁰¹ art¹⁴⁸⁸ thou? that²⁴⁴³ we may give¹³²⁵ an answer⁶¹² to them that sent³⁹⁹² us.²²⁴⁸ What⁵¹⁰¹ sayest³⁰⁰⁴ thou of⁴⁰¹² thyself?⁴⁵⁷²

23  He said,⁵³⁴⁶ I¹⁴⁷³ am the voice⁵⁴⁵⁶ of one crying⁹⁹⁴ in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ wilderness,²⁰⁴⁸ Make straight²¹¹⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ way³⁵⁹⁸ of the Lord,²⁹⁶² as²⁵³¹ said²⁰³⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ prophet⁴³⁹⁶ Isaiah.²²⁶⁸

24  And²⁵³² they which were sent⁶⁴⁹ were²²⁵⁸ of¹⁵³⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ Pharisees.⁵³³⁰

25  And²⁵³² they asked²⁰⁶⁵ him,⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² said²⁰³⁶ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Why⁵¹⁰¹ baptizest⁹⁰⁷ thou then,³⁷⁶⁷ if¹⁴⁸⁷ thou⁴⁷⁷¹ be¹⁴⁸⁸ not³⁷⁵⁶ that Christ,⁵⁵⁴⁷ nor³⁷⁷⁷ Elijah,²²⁴³ neither³⁷⁷⁷ that prophet?⁴³⁹⁶

26  John²⁴⁹¹ answered⁶¹¹ them,⁸⁴⁶ saying,³⁰⁰⁴ I¹⁴⁷³ baptize⁹⁰⁷ with¹⁷²² water:⁵²⁰⁴ but¹¹⁶¹ there standeth²⁴⁷⁶ one among³³¹⁹ you,⁵²¹⁶ whom³⁷³⁹ ye⁵²¹⁰ know¹⁴⁹² not;³⁷⁵⁶

27  He⁸⁴⁶ it is,²⁰⁷⁶ who coming²⁰⁶⁴ after³⁶⁹⁴ me³⁴⁵⁰ is preferred¹⁰⁹⁶ before¹⁷¹⁵ me,³⁴⁵⁰ whose³⁷³⁹ shoe's⁵²⁶⁶ latchet²⁴³⁸ I¹⁴⁷³ am¹⁵¹⁰ not³⁷⁵⁶ worthy⁵¹⁴ to²⁴⁴³ unloose.^{3089 846}

28  These things⁵⁰²³ were done¹⁰⁹⁶ in¹⁷²² Bethabara⁹⁶² beyond⁴⁰⁰⁸ Jordan,²⁴⁴⁶ where³⁶⁹⁹ John²⁴⁹¹ was²²⁵⁸ baptizing.⁹⁰⁷

29  The³⁵⁸⁸ next day¹⁸⁸⁷ John²⁴⁹¹ seeth⁹⁹¹ Jesus²⁴²⁴ coming²⁰⁶⁴ unto⁴³¹⁴ him,⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² saith,³⁰⁰⁴ Behold²³⁹⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ Lamb²⁸⁶ of God,²³¹⁶ which taketh away¹⁴² the³⁵⁸⁸ sin²⁶⁶ of the³⁵⁸⁸ world.²⁸⁸⁹

30  This³⁷⁷⁸ is²⁰⁷⁶ he of⁴⁰¹² whom³⁷³⁹ I¹⁴⁷³ said,²⁰³⁶ After³⁶⁹⁴ me³⁴⁵⁰ cometh²⁰⁶⁴ a man⁴³⁵ which³⁷³⁹ is preferred¹⁰⁹⁶ before¹⁷¹⁵ me:³⁴⁵⁰ for³⁷⁵⁴ he was²²⁵⁸ before⁴⁴¹³ me.³⁴⁵⁰

31  And I²⁵⁰⁴ knew¹⁴⁹² him⁸⁴⁶ not:³⁷⁵⁶ but²³⁵ that²⁴⁴³ he should be made manifest⁵³¹⁹ to Israel,²⁴⁷⁴ therefore^{1223 5124} am I¹⁴⁷³ come²⁰⁶⁴ baptizing⁹⁰⁷ with¹⁷²² water.⁵²⁰⁴

32  And²⁵³² John²⁴⁹¹ bare record,³¹⁴⁰ saying,³⁰⁰⁴ I saw²³⁰⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ Spirit⁴¹⁵¹ descending²⁵⁹⁷ from¹⁵³⁷ heaven³⁷⁷² like⁵⁶¹⁶ a dove,⁴⁰⁵⁸ and²⁵³² it abode³³⁰⁶ upon¹⁹⁰⁹ him.⁸⁴⁶

33  And I²⁵⁰⁴ knew¹⁴⁹² him⁸⁴⁶ not:³⁷⁵⁶ but²³⁵ he that sent³⁹⁹² me³¹⁶⁵ to baptize⁹⁰⁷ with¹⁷²² water,⁵²⁰⁴ the same¹⁵⁶⁵ said²⁰³⁶ unto me,³⁴²⁷ Upon¹⁹⁰⁹ whom^{3739 302} thou shalt see¹⁴⁹² the³⁵⁸⁸ Spirit⁴¹⁵¹ descending,²⁵⁹⁷ and²⁵³² remaining³³⁰⁶ on¹⁹⁰⁹ him,⁸⁴⁶ the same³⁷⁷⁸ is²⁰⁷⁶ he which baptizeth⁹⁰⁷ with¹⁷²² the Holy⁴⁰ Ghost.⁴¹⁵¹

34  And I²⁵⁰⁴ saw,³⁷⁰⁸ and²⁵³² bare record³¹⁴⁰ that³⁷⁵⁴ this³⁷⁷⁸ is²⁰⁷⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ Son⁵²⁰⁷ of God.²³¹⁶

35  Again³⁸²⁵ the³⁵⁸⁸ next day after¹⁸⁸⁷ John²⁴⁹¹ stood,²⁴⁷⁶ and²⁵³² two¹⁴¹⁷ of¹⁵³⁷ his⁸⁴⁶ disciples;³¹⁰¹

36  And²⁵³² looking upon¹⁶⁸⁹ Jesus²⁴²⁴ as he walked,⁴⁰⁴³ he saith,³⁰⁰⁴ Behold²³⁹⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ Lamb²⁸⁶ of God!²³¹⁶

37  And²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ two¹⁴¹⁷ disciples³¹⁰¹ heard¹⁹¹ him⁸⁴⁶ speak,²⁹⁸⁰ and²⁵³² they followed¹⁹⁰ Jesus.²⁴²⁴

38  Then¹¹⁶¹ Jesus²⁴²⁴ turned,⁴⁷⁶² and²⁵³² saw²³⁰⁰ them⁸⁴⁶ following,¹⁹⁰ and saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ What⁵¹⁰¹ seek²²¹² ye?¹¹⁶¹ They said²⁰³⁶ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Rabbi,⁴⁴⁶¹ (which³⁷³⁹ is to say,³⁰⁰⁴ being interpreted,²⁰⁵⁹ Master,)¹³²⁰ where⁴²²⁶ dwellest³³⁰⁶ thou?

39  He saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ Come²⁰⁶⁴ and²⁵³² see.¹⁴⁹² They came²⁰⁶⁴ and²⁵³² saw¹⁴⁹² where⁴²²⁶ he dwelt,³³⁰⁶ and²⁵³² abode³³⁰⁶ with³⁸⁴⁴ him⁸⁴⁶ that¹⁵⁶⁵ day:²²⁵⁰ for¹¹⁶¹ it was²²⁵⁸ about⁵⁶¹³ the tenth¹¹⁸² hour.⁵⁶¹⁰

40  One¹⁵²⁰ of¹⁵³⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ two¹⁴¹⁷ which heard¹⁹¹ John²⁴⁹¹ speak, and²⁵³² followed¹⁹⁰ him,⁸⁴⁶ was²²⁵⁸ Andrew,⁴⁰⁶ Simon⁴⁶¹³ Peter's⁴⁰⁷⁴ brother.⁸⁰

41  He³⁷⁷⁸ first⁴⁴¹³ findeth²¹⁴⁷ his own²³⁹⁸ brother⁸⁰ Simon,⁴⁶¹³ and²⁵³² saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ We have found²¹⁴⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ Messiah,³³²³ which is,³⁶⁰³ being interpreted,³¹⁷⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ Christ.⁵⁵⁴⁷

42  And²⁵³² he brought⁷¹ him⁸⁴⁶ to⁴³¹⁴ Jesus.²⁴²⁴ And¹¹⁶¹ when Jesus²⁴²⁴ beheld¹⁶⁸⁹ him,⁸⁴⁶ he said,²⁰³⁶ Thou⁴⁷⁷¹ art¹⁴⁸⁸ Simon⁴⁶¹³ the³⁵⁸⁸ son⁵²⁰⁷ of Jona:²⁴⁹⁵ thou⁴⁷⁷¹ shalt be called²⁵⁶⁴ Cephas,²⁷⁸⁶ which³⁷³⁹ is by interpretation,²⁰⁵⁹ A stone.⁴⁰⁷⁴

43  The³⁵⁸⁸ day following¹⁸⁸⁷ Jesus²⁴²⁴ would²³⁰⁹ go forth¹⁸³¹ into¹⁵¹⁹ Galilee,¹⁰⁵⁶ and²⁵³² findeth²¹⁴⁷ Philip,⁵³⁷⁶ and²⁵³² saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Follow¹⁹⁰ me.³⁴²⁷

44  Now¹¹⁶¹ Philip⁵³⁷⁶ was²²⁵⁸ of⁵⁷⁵ Bethsaida,⁹⁶⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ city⁴¹⁷² of Andrew⁴⁰⁶ and²⁵³² Peter.⁴⁰⁷⁴

45  Philip⁵³⁷⁶ findeth²¹⁴⁷ Nathanael,³⁴⁸² and²⁵³² saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ We have found²¹⁴⁷ him, of whom³⁷³⁹ Moses³⁴⁷⁵ in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ law,³⁵⁵¹ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ prophets,⁴³⁹⁶ did write,¹¹²⁵ Jesus²⁴²⁴ of⁵⁷⁵ Nazareth,³⁴⁷⁸ the³⁵⁸⁸ son⁵²⁰⁷ of Joseph.²⁵⁰¹

46  And²⁵³² Nathanael³⁴⁸² said²⁰³⁶ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Can¹⁴¹⁰ there any⁵¹⁰⁰ good thing¹⁸ come¹⁵¹¹ out of¹⁵³⁷ Nazareth?³⁴⁷⁸ Philip⁵³⁷⁶ saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Come²⁰⁶⁴ and²⁵³² see.¹⁴⁹²

47  Jesus²⁴²⁴ saw¹⁴⁹² Nathanael³⁴⁸² coming²⁰⁶⁴ to⁴³¹⁴ him,⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² saith³⁰⁰⁴ of⁴⁰¹² him,⁸⁴⁶ Behold²³⁹⁶ an Israelite²⁴⁷⁵ indeed,²³⁰ in¹⁷²² whom³⁷³⁹ is²⁰⁷⁶ no³⁷⁵⁶ guile!¹³⁸⁸

48  Nathanael³⁴⁸² saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Whence⁴¹⁵⁹ knowest¹⁰⁹⁷ thou me?³¹⁶⁵ Jesus²⁴²⁴ answered⁶¹¹ and²⁵³² said²⁰³⁶ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Before⁴²⁵³ that Philip⁵³⁷⁶ called⁵⁴⁵⁵ thee,⁴⁵⁷¹ when thou wast⁵⁶⁰⁷ under⁵²⁵⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ fig tree,⁴⁸⁰⁸ I saw¹⁴⁹² thee.⁴⁵⁷¹

49  Nathanael³⁴⁸² answered⁶¹¹ and²⁵³² saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Rabbi,⁴⁴⁶¹ thou⁴⁷⁷¹ art¹⁴⁸⁸ the³⁵⁸⁸ Son⁵²⁰⁷ of God;²³¹⁶ thou⁴⁷⁷¹ art¹⁴⁸⁸ the³⁵⁸⁸ King⁹³⁵ of Israel.²⁴⁷⁴

50  Jesus²⁴²⁴ answered⁶¹¹ and²⁵³² said²⁰³⁶ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Because³⁷⁵⁴ I said²⁰³⁶ unto thee,⁴⁶⁷¹ I saw¹⁴⁹² thee⁴⁵⁷¹ under⁵²⁷⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ fig tree,⁴⁸⁰⁸ believest⁴¹⁰⁰ thou? thou shalt see³⁷⁰⁰ greater things³¹⁸⁷ than these.⁵¹³⁰

51  And²⁵³² he saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Verily,²⁸¹ verily,²⁸¹ I say³⁰⁰⁴ unto you,⁵²¹³ Hereafter^{575 737} ye shall see³⁷⁰⁰ heaven³⁷⁷² open,⁴⁵⁵ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ angels³² of God²³¹⁶ ascending³⁰⁵ and²⁵³² descending²⁵⁹⁷ upon¹⁹⁰⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ Son⁵²⁰⁷ of man.⁴⁴⁴

1  And²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ third⁵¹⁵⁴ day²²⁵⁰ there was¹⁰⁹⁶ a marriage¹⁰⁶² in¹⁷²² Cana²⁵⁸⁰ of Galilee;¹⁰⁵⁶ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ mother³³⁸⁴ of Jesus²⁴²⁴ was²²⁵⁸ there:¹⁵⁶³

2  And¹¹⁶¹ both²⁵³² Jesus²⁴²⁴ was called,²⁵⁶⁴ and²⁵³² his⁸⁴⁶ disciples,³¹⁰¹ to¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ marriage.¹⁰⁶²

3  And²⁵³² when they wanted⁵³⁰² wine,³⁶³¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ mother³³⁸⁴ of Jesus²⁴²⁴ saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto⁴³¹⁴ him,⁸⁴⁶ They have²¹⁹² no³⁷⁵⁶ wine.³⁶³¹

4  Jesus²⁴²⁴ saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto her,⁸⁴⁶ Woman,¹¹³⁵ what have I to do with thee?^{5101 1698 2532 4671} mine³⁴⁵⁰ hour⁵⁶¹⁰ is not yet³⁷⁶⁸ come.²²⁴⁰

5  His⁸⁴⁶ mother³³⁸⁴ saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto the³⁵⁸⁸ servants,¹²⁴⁹ Whatsoever^{3748 302} he saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto you,⁵²¹³ do⁴¹⁶⁰ it.

6  And¹¹⁶¹ there were²²⁵⁸ set²⁷⁴⁹ there¹⁵⁶³ six¹⁸⁰³ waterpots⁵²⁰¹ of stone,³⁰³⁵ after²⁵⁹⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ manner of the purifying²⁵¹² of the³⁵⁸⁸ Jews,²⁴⁵³ containing⁵⁵⁶² two¹⁴¹⁷ or²²²⁸ three⁵¹⁴⁰ firkins³³⁵⁵ apiece.³⁰³

7  Jesus²⁴²⁴ saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ Fill¹⁰⁷² the³⁵⁸⁸ waterpots⁵²⁰¹ with water.⁵²⁰⁴ And²⁵³² they filled¹⁰⁷² them⁸⁴⁶ up to²¹⁹³ the brim.⁵⁰⁷

8  And²⁵³² he saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ Draw out⁵⁰¹ now,³⁵⁶⁸ and²⁵³² bear⁵³⁴² unto the³⁵⁸⁸ governor of the feast.⁷⁵⁵ And²⁵³² they bare⁵³⁴² it.

9  ¹¹⁶¹ When⁵⁶¹³ the³⁵⁸⁸ ruler of the feast⁷⁵⁵ had tasted¹⁰⁸⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ water⁵²⁰⁴ that was made¹⁰⁹⁶ wine,³⁶³¹ and²⁵³² knew¹⁴⁹² not³⁷⁵⁶ whence⁴¹⁵⁹ it was:²⁰⁷⁶ (but¹¹⁶¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ servants¹²⁴⁹ which drew⁵⁰¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ water⁵²⁰⁴ knew;)¹⁴⁹² the³⁵⁸⁸ governor of the feast⁷⁵⁵ called⁵⁴⁵⁵ the³⁵⁸⁸ bridegroom,³⁵⁶⁶

10  And²⁵³² saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Every³⁹⁵⁶ man⁴⁴⁴ at the beginning⁴⁴¹² doth set forth⁵⁰⁸⁷ good²⁵⁷⁰ wine;³⁶³¹ and²⁵³² when³⁷⁵² men have well drunk,³¹⁸⁴ then⁵¹¹⁹ that which is worse:¹⁶⁴⁰ but thou⁴⁷⁷¹ hast kept⁵⁰⁸³ the³⁵⁸⁸ good²⁵⁷⁰ wine³⁶³¹ until²¹⁹³ now.⁷³⁷

11  This⁵⁰²⁶ beginning⁷⁴⁶ of miracles⁴⁵⁹² did⁴¹⁶⁰ Jesus²⁴²⁴ in¹⁷²² Cana²⁵⁸⁰ of Galilee,¹⁰⁵⁶ and²⁵³² manifested forth⁵³¹⁹ his⁸⁴⁸ glory;¹³⁹¹ and²⁵³² his⁸⁴⁶ disciples³¹⁰¹ believed⁴¹⁰⁰ on¹⁵¹⁹ him.⁸⁴⁶

12  After³³²⁶ this⁵¹²⁴ he went down²⁵⁹⁷ to¹⁵¹⁹ Capernaum,²⁵⁸⁴ he,⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² his⁸⁴⁶ mother,³³⁸⁴ and²⁵³² his⁸⁴⁶ brethren,⁸⁰ and²⁵³² his⁸⁴⁶ disciples:³¹⁰¹ and²⁵³² they continued³³⁰⁶ there¹⁵⁶³ not³⁷⁵⁶ many⁴¹⁸³ days.²²⁵⁰

13  And²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ Jews'²⁴⁵³ passover³⁹⁵⁷ was²²⁵⁸ at hand,¹⁴⁵¹ and²⁵³² Jesus²⁴²⁴ went up³⁰⁵ to¹⁵¹⁹ Jerusalem,²⁴¹⁴

14  And²⁵³² found²¹⁴⁷ in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ temple²⁴¹¹ those that sold⁴⁴⁵³ oxen¹⁰¹⁶ and²⁵³² sheep⁴²⁶³ and²⁵³² doves,⁴⁰⁵⁸ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ changers of money²⁷⁷³ sitting:²⁵²¹

15  And²⁵³² when he had made⁴¹⁶⁰ a scourge⁵⁴¹⁶ of¹⁵³⁷ small cords,⁴⁹⁷⁹ he drove¹⁵⁴⁴ them all³⁹⁵⁶ out of¹⁵³⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ temple,²⁴¹¹ and⁵⁰³⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ sheep,⁴²⁶³ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ oxen;¹⁰¹⁶ and²⁵³² poured out¹⁶³² the³⁵⁸⁸ changers'²⁸⁵⁵ money,²⁷⁷² and²⁵³² overthrew³⁹⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ tables;⁵¹³²

16  And²⁵³² said²⁰³⁶ unto them that sold⁴⁴⁵³ doves,⁴⁰⁵⁸ Take¹⁴² these things⁵⁰²³ hence;¹⁷⁸² make⁴¹⁶⁰ not³³⁶¹ my³⁴⁵⁰ Father's³⁹⁶² house³⁶²⁴ a house³⁶²⁴ of merchandise.¹⁷¹²

17  And¹¹⁶¹ his⁸⁴⁶ disciples³¹⁰¹ remembered³⁴¹⁵ that³⁷⁵⁴ it was²⁰⁷⁶ written,¹¹²⁵ The³⁵⁸⁸ zeal²²⁰⁵ of thine⁴⁶⁷⁵ house³⁶²⁴ hath eaten me up.^{2719 3165}

18  Then³⁷⁶⁷ answered⁶¹¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ Jews²⁴⁵³ and²⁵³² said²⁰³⁶ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ What⁵¹⁰¹ sign⁴⁵⁹² showest¹¹⁶⁶ thou unto us,²²⁵⁴ seeing that³⁷⁵⁴ thou doest⁴¹⁶⁰ these things?⁵⁰²³

19  Jesus²⁴²⁴ answered⁶¹¹ and²⁵³² said²⁰³⁶ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ Destroy³⁰⁸⁹ this⁵¹²⁶ temple,³⁴⁸⁵ and²⁵³² in¹⁷²² three⁵¹⁴⁰ days²²⁵⁰ I will raise it up.^{1453 846}

20  Then³⁷⁶⁷ said²⁰³⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ Jews,²⁴⁵³ Forty and six^{5062 2532 1803} years²⁰⁹⁴ was this temple in building,^{3618 3778 3485} and²⁵³² wilt thou⁴⁷⁷¹ rear it up^{1453 846} in¹⁷²² three⁵¹⁴⁰ days?²²⁵⁰

21  But¹¹⁶¹ he¹⁵⁶⁵ spake³⁰⁰⁴ of⁴⁰¹² the³⁵⁸⁸ temple³⁴⁸⁵ of his⁸⁴⁸ body.⁴⁹⁸³

22  When³⁷⁵³ therefore³⁷⁶⁷ he was risen¹⁴⁵³ from¹⁵³⁷ the dead,³⁴⁹⁸ his⁸⁴⁶ disciples³¹⁰¹ remembered³⁴¹⁵ that³⁷⁵⁴ he had said³⁰⁰⁴ this⁵¹²⁴ unto them;⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² they believed⁴¹⁰⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ Scripture,¹¹²⁴ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ word³⁰⁵⁶ which³⁷³⁹ Jesus²⁴²⁴ had said.²⁰³⁶

23  Now¹¹⁶¹ when⁵⁶¹³ he was²²⁵⁸ in¹⁷²² Jerusalem²⁴¹⁴ at¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ passover,³⁹⁵⁷ in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ feast¹⁸⁵⁹ day, many⁴¹⁸³ believed⁴¹⁰⁰ in¹⁵¹⁹ his⁸⁴⁶ name,³⁶⁸⁶ when they saw²³³⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ miracles⁴⁵⁹² which³⁷³⁹ he did.⁴¹⁶⁰

24  But¹¹⁶¹ Jesus²⁴²⁴ did not³⁷⁵⁶ commit⁴¹⁰⁰ himself¹⁴³⁸ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ because he⁸⁴⁶ knew¹⁰⁹⁷ all³⁹⁵⁶ men,

25  And^{2532 3754} needed^{2192 5532} not³⁷⁵⁶ that²⁴⁴³ any⁵¹⁰⁰ should testify³¹⁴⁰ of⁴⁰¹² man:⁴⁴⁴ for¹⁰⁶³ he⁸⁴⁶ knew¹⁰⁹⁷ what⁵¹⁰¹ was²²⁵⁸ in¹⁷²² man.⁴⁴⁴

1  There¹¹⁶¹ was²²⁵⁸ a man⁴⁴⁴ of¹⁵³⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ Pharisees,⁵³³⁰ named³⁶⁸⁶ Nicodemus,³⁵³⁰ a ruler⁷⁵⁸ of the³⁵⁸⁸ Jews:²⁴⁵³

2  The same³⁷⁷⁸ came²⁰⁶⁴ to⁴³¹⁴ Jesus²⁴²⁴ by night,³⁵⁷¹ and²⁵³² said²⁰³⁶ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Rabbi,⁴⁴⁶¹ we know¹⁴⁹² that³⁷⁵⁴ thou art a teacher¹³²⁰ come²⁰⁶⁴ from⁵⁷⁵ God:²³¹⁶ for¹⁰⁶³ no man³⁷⁶² can¹⁴¹⁰ do⁴¹⁶⁰ these⁵⁰²³ miracles⁴⁵⁹² that³⁷³⁹ thou⁴⁷⁷¹ doest,⁴¹⁶⁰ except³³⁶² God²³¹⁶ be⁵⁶⁰⁰ with³³²⁶ him.⁸⁴⁶

3  Jesus²⁴²⁴ answered⁶¹¹ and²⁵³² said²⁰³⁶ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Verily,²⁸¹ verily,²⁸¹ I say³⁰⁰⁴ unto thee,⁴⁶⁷¹ Except³³⁶² a man⁵¹⁰⁰ be born¹⁰⁸⁰ again,⁵⁰⁹ he cannot^{1410 3756} see¹⁴⁹² the³⁵⁸⁸ kingdom⁹³² of God.²³¹⁶

4  Nicodemus³⁵³⁰ saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto⁴³¹⁴ him,⁸⁴⁶ How⁴⁴⁵⁹ can¹⁴¹⁰ a man⁴⁴⁴ be born¹⁰⁸⁰ when he is⁵⁶⁰⁷ old?¹⁰⁸⁸ can¹⁴¹⁰ he³³⁶¹ enter¹⁵²⁵ the second time¹²⁰⁸ into¹⁵¹⁹ his⁸⁴⁸ mother's³³⁸⁴ womb,²⁸³⁶ and²⁵³² be born?¹⁰⁸⁰

5  Jesus²⁴²⁴ answered,⁶¹¹ Verily,²⁸¹ verily,²⁸¹ I say³⁰⁰⁴ unto thee,⁴⁶⁷¹ Except³³⁶² a man⁵¹⁰⁰ be born¹⁰⁸⁰ of¹⁵³⁷ water⁵²⁰⁴ and²⁵³² of the Spirit,⁴¹⁵¹ he cannot^{1410 3756} enter¹⁵²⁵ into¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ kingdom⁹³² of God.²³¹⁶

6  That which is born¹⁰⁸⁰ of¹⁵³⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ flesh⁴⁵⁶¹ is²⁰⁷⁶ flesh;⁴⁵⁶¹ and²⁵³² that which is born¹⁰⁸⁰ of¹⁵³⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ Spirit⁴¹⁵¹ is²⁰⁷⁶ spirit.⁴¹⁵¹

7  Marvel²²⁹⁶ not³³⁶¹ that³⁷⁵⁴ I said²⁰³⁶ unto thee,⁴⁶⁷¹ Ye⁵²⁰⁹ must¹¹⁶³ be born¹⁰⁸⁰ again.⁵⁰⁹

8  The³⁵⁸⁸ wind⁴¹⁵¹ bloweth⁴¹⁵⁴ where³⁶⁹⁹ it listeth,²³⁰⁹ and²⁵³² thou hearest¹⁹¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ sound⁵⁴⁵⁶ thereof,⁸⁴⁶ but²³⁵ canst not tell^{1492 3756} whence⁴¹⁵⁹ it cometh,²⁰⁶⁴ and²⁵³² whither⁴²²⁶ it goeth:⁵²¹⁷ so³⁷⁷⁹ is²⁰⁷⁶ every one³⁹⁵⁶ that is born¹⁰⁸⁰ of¹⁵³⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ Spirit.⁴¹⁵¹

9  Nicodemus³⁵³⁰ answered⁶¹¹ and²⁵³² said²⁰³⁶ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ How⁴⁴⁵⁹ can¹⁴¹⁰ these things⁵⁰²³ be?¹⁰⁹⁶

10  Jesus²⁴²⁴ answered⁶¹¹ and²⁵³² said²⁰³⁶ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Art¹⁴⁸⁸ thou⁴⁷⁷¹ a master¹³²⁰ of Israel,²⁴⁷⁴ and²⁵³² knowest¹⁰⁹⁷ not³⁷⁵⁶ these things?⁵⁰²³

11  Verily,²⁸¹ verily,²⁸¹ I say³⁰⁰⁴ unto thee,⁴⁶⁷¹ We³⁷⁵⁴ speak²⁹⁸⁰ that³⁷³⁹ we do know,¹⁴⁹² and²⁵³² testify³¹⁴⁰ that³⁷³⁹ we have seen;³⁷⁰⁸ and²⁵³² ye receive²⁹⁸³ not³⁷⁵⁶ our²²⁵⁷ witness.³¹⁴¹

12  If¹⁴⁸⁷ I have told²⁰³⁶ you⁵²¹³ earthly things,¹⁹¹⁹ and²⁵³² ye believe⁴¹⁰⁰ not,³⁷⁵⁶ how⁴⁴⁵⁹ shall ye believe,⁴¹⁰⁰ if¹⁴³⁷ I tell²⁰³⁶ you⁵²¹³ of heavenly things?²⁰³²

13  And²⁵³² no man³⁷⁶² hath ascended up³⁰⁵ to¹⁵¹⁹ heaven,³⁷⁷² but¹⁵⁰⁸ he that came down²⁵⁹⁷ from¹⁵³⁷ heaven,³⁷⁷² even the³⁵⁸⁸ Son⁵²⁰⁷ of man⁴⁴⁴ which is⁵⁶⁰⁷ in¹⁷²² heaven.³⁷⁷²

14  And²⁵³² as²⁵³¹ Moses³⁴⁷⁵ lifted up⁵³¹² the³⁵⁸⁸ serpent³⁷⁸⁹ in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ wilderness,²⁰⁴⁸ even so³⁷⁷⁹ must¹¹⁶³ the³⁵⁸⁸ Son⁵²⁰⁷ of man⁴⁴⁴ be lifted up:⁵³¹²

15  That²⁴⁴³ whosoever³⁹⁵⁶ believeth⁴¹⁰⁰ in¹⁵¹⁹ him⁸⁴⁶ should not³³⁶¹ perish,⁶²² but²³⁵ have²¹⁹² eternal¹⁶⁶ life.²²²²

16  For¹⁰⁶³ God²³¹⁶ so³⁷⁷⁹ loved²⁵ the³⁵⁸⁸ world,²⁸⁸⁹ that⁵⁶²⁰ he gave¹³²⁵ his⁸⁴⁸ only begotten³⁴³⁹ Son,⁵²⁰⁷ that²⁴⁴³ whosoever³⁹⁵⁶ believeth⁴¹⁰⁰ in¹⁵¹⁹ him⁸⁴⁶ should not³³⁶¹ perish,⁶²² but²³⁵ have²¹⁹² everlasting¹⁶⁶ life.²²²²

17  For¹⁰⁶³ God²³¹⁶ sent⁶⁴⁹ not³⁷⁵⁶ his⁸⁴⁸ Son⁵²⁰⁷ into¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ world²⁸⁸⁹ to²⁴⁴³ condemn²⁹¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ world;²⁸⁸⁹ but²³⁵ that²⁴⁴³ the³⁵⁸⁸ world²⁸⁸⁹ through¹²²³ him⁸⁴⁶ might be saved.⁴⁹⁸²

18  He that believeth⁴¹⁰⁰ on¹⁵¹⁹ him⁸⁴⁶ is not³⁷⁵⁶ condemned:²⁹¹⁹ but¹¹⁶¹ he that believeth⁴¹⁰⁰ not³³⁶¹ is condemned²⁹¹⁹ already,²²³⁵ because³⁷⁵⁴ he hath not³³⁶¹ believed⁴¹⁰⁰ in¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ name³⁶⁸⁶ of the³⁵⁸⁸ only begotten³⁴³⁹ Son⁵²⁰⁷ of God.²³¹⁶

19  And¹¹⁶¹ this³⁷⁷⁸ is²⁰⁷⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ condemnation,²⁹²⁰ that³⁷⁵⁴ light⁵⁴⁵⁷ is come²⁰⁶⁴ into¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ world,²⁸⁸⁹ and²⁵³² men⁴⁴⁴ loved²⁵ darkness⁴⁶⁵⁵ rather³¹²³ than²²²⁸ light,⁵⁴⁵⁷ because¹⁰⁶³ their⁸⁴⁶ deeds²⁰⁴¹ were²²⁵⁸ evil.⁴¹⁹⁰

20  For¹⁰⁶³ every one³⁹⁵⁶ that doeth⁴²³⁸ evil⁵³³⁷ hateth³⁴⁰⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ light,⁵⁴⁵⁷ neither^{2532 3756} cometh²⁰⁶⁴ to⁴³¹⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ light,⁵⁴⁵⁷ lest³³⁶³ his⁸⁴⁶ deeds²⁰⁴¹ should be reproved.¹⁶⁵¹

21  But¹¹⁶¹ he that doeth⁴¹⁶⁰ truth²²⁵ cometh²⁰⁶⁴ to⁴³¹⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ light,⁵⁴⁵⁷ that²⁴⁴³ his⁸⁴⁶ deeds²⁰⁴¹ may be made manifest,⁵³¹⁹ that³⁷⁵⁴ they are²⁰⁷⁶ wrought²⁰³⁸ in¹⁷²² God.²³¹⁶

22  After³³²⁶ these things⁵⁰²³ came²⁰⁶⁴ Jesus²⁴²⁴ and²⁵³² his⁸⁴⁶ disciples³¹⁰¹ into¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ land¹⁰⁹³ of Judea;²⁴⁴⁹ and²⁵³² there¹⁵⁶³ he tarried¹³⁰⁴ with³³²⁶ them,⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² baptized.⁹⁰⁷

23  And¹¹⁶¹ John²⁴⁹¹ also²⁵³² was²²⁵⁸ baptizing⁹⁰⁷ in¹⁷²² Aenon¹³⁷ near to¹⁴⁵¹ Salim,⁴⁵³⁰ because³⁷⁵⁴ there was²²⁵⁸ much⁴¹⁸³ water⁵²⁰⁴ there:¹⁵⁶³ and²⁵³² they came,³⁸⁵⁴ and²⁵³² were baptized.⁹⁰⁷

24  For¹⁰⁶³ John²⁴⁹¹ was²²⁵⁸ not yet³⁷⁶⁸ cast⁹⁰⁶ into¹⁵¹⁹ prison.⁵⁴³⁸

25  Then³⁷⁶⁷ there arose¹⁰⁹⁶ a question²²¹⁴ between some of¹⁵³⁷ John's²⁴⁹¹ disciples³¹⁰¹ and³³²⁶ the Jews²⁴⁵³ about⁴⁰¹² purifying.²⁵¹²

26  And²⁵³² they came²⁰⁶⁴ unto⁴³¹⁴ John,²⁴⁹¹ and²⁵³² said²⁰³⁶ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Rabbi,⁴⁴⁶¹ he that³⁷³⁹ was²²⁵⁸ with³³²⁶ thee⁴⁶⁷⁵ beyond⁴⁰⁰⁸ Jordan,²⁴⁴⁶ to whom³⁷³⁹ thou⁴⁷⁷¹ barest witness,³¹⁴⁰ behold,²³⁹⁶ the same³⁷⁷⁸ baptizeth,⁹⁰⁷ and²⁵³² all³⁹⁵⁶ men come²⁰⁶⁴ to⁴³¹⁴ him.⁸⁴⁶

27  John²⁴⁹¹ answered⁶¹¹ and²⁵³² said,²⁰³⁶ A man⁴⁴⁴ can^{1410 3756} receive²⁹⁸³ nothing,³⁷⁶² except³³⁶² it be⁵⁶⁰⁰ given¹³²⁵ him⁸⁴⁶ from¹⁵³⁷ heaven.³⁷⁷²

28  Ye⁵²¹⁰ yourselves⁸⁴⁶ bear me witness,^{3140 3427} that³⁷⁵⁴ I said,²⁰³⁶ I¹⁴⁷³ am¹⁵¹⁰ not³⁷⁵⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ Christ,⁵⁵⁴⁷ but²³⁵ that³⁷⁵⁴ I am¹⁵¹⁰ sent⁶⁴⁹ before¹⁷¹⁵ him.¹⁵⁶⁵

29  He that hath²¹⁹² the³⁵⁸⁸ bride³⁵⁶⁵ is²⁰⁷⁶ the bridegroom:³⁵⁶⁶ but¹¹⁶¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ friend⁵³⁸⁴ of the³⁵⁸⁸ bridegroom,³⁵⁶⁶ which standeth²⁴⁷⁶ and²⁵³² heareth¹⁹¹ him,⁸⁴⁶ rejoiceth⁵⁴⁶³ greatly⁵⁴⁷⁹ because¹²²³ of the³⁵⁸⁸ bridegroom's³⁵⁶⁶ voice:⁵⁴⁵⁶ this³⁷⁷⁸ my¹⁶⁹⁹ joy⁵⁴⁷⁹ therefore³⁷⁶⁷ is fulfilled.⁴¹³⁷

30  He¹⁵⁶⁵ must¹¹⁶³ increase,⁸³⁷ but¹¹⁶¹ I¹⁶⁹¹ must decrease.¹⁶⁴²

31  He that cometh²⁰⁶⁴ from above⁵⁰⁹ is²⁰⁷⁶ above¹⁸⁸³ all:³⁹⁵⁶ he that is⁵⁶⁰⁷ of¹⁵³⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ earth¹⁰⁹³ is²⁰⁷⁶ earthly,^{1537 1093} and²⁵³² speaketh²⁹⁸⁰ of¹⁵³⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ earth:¹⁰⁹³ he that cometh²⁰⁶⁴ from¹⁵³⁷ heaven³⁷⁷² is²⁰⁷⁶ above¹⁸⁸³ all.³⁹⁵⁶

32  And²⁵³² what³⁷³⁹ he hath seen³⁷⁰⁸ and²⁵³² heard,¹⁹¹ that⁵¹²⁴ he testifieth;³¹⁴⁰ and²⁵³² no man³⁷⁶² receiveth²⁹⁸³ his⁸⁴⁶ testimony.³¹⁴¹

33  He that hath received²⁹⁸³ his⁸⁴⁶ testimony³¹⁴¹ hath set to his seal⁴⁹⁷² that³⁷⁵⁴ God²³¹⁶ is²⁰⁷⁶ true.²²⁷

34  For¹⁰⁶³ he whom³⁷³⁹ God²³¹⁶ hath sent⁶⁴⁹ speaketh²⁹⁸⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ words⁴⁴⁸⁷ of God:²³¹⁶ for¹⁰⁶³ God²³¹⁶ giveth¹³²⁵ not³⁷⁵⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ Spirit⁴¹⁵¹ by¹⁵³⁷ measure³³⁵⁸ unto him.

35  The³⁵⁸⁸ Father³⁹⁶² loveth²⁵ the³⁵⁸⁸ Son,⁵²⁰⁷ and²⁵³² hath given¹³²⁵ all things³⁹⁵⁶ into¹⁷²² his⁸⁴⁶ hand.⁵⁴⁹⁵

36  He that believeth⁴¹⁰⁰ on¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ Son⁵²⁰⁷ hath²¹⁹² everlasting¹⁶⁶ life:²²²² and¹¹⁶¹ he that believeth⁵⁴⁴ not the³⁵⁸⁸ Son⁵²⁰⁷ shall not³⁷⁵⁶ see³⁷⁰⁰ life;²²²² but²³⁵ the³⁵⁸⁸ wrath³⁷⁰⁹ of God²³¹⁶ abideth³³⁰⁶ on¹⁹⁰⁹ him.⁸⁴⁶

1  When⁵⁶¹³ therefore³⁷⁶⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ Lord²⁹⁶² knew¹⁰⁹⁷ how³⁷⁵⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ Pharisees⁵³³⁰ had heard¹⁹¹ that³⁷⁵⁴ Jesus²⁴²⁴ made⁴¹⁶⁰ and²⁵³² baptized⁹⁰⁷ more⁴¹¹⁹ disciples³¹⁰¹ than²²²⁸ John,²⁴⁹¹

2  (Though²⁵⁴⁴ Jesus²⁴²⁴ himself⁸⁴⁶ baptized⁹⁰⁷ not,³⁷⁵⁶ but²³⁵ his⁸⁴⁶ disciples,)³¹⁰¹

3  He left⁸⁶³ Judea,²⁴⁴⁹ and²⁵³² departed⁵⁶⁵ again³⁸²⁵ into¹⁵¹⁹ Galilee.¹⁰⁵⁶

4  And¹¹⁶¹ he⁸⁴⁶ must needs¹¹⁶³ go¹³³⁰ through¹²²³ Samaria.⁴⁵⁴⁰

5  Then³⁷⁶⁷ cometh²⁰⁶⁴ he to¹⁵¹⁹ a city⁴¹⁷² of Samaria,⁴⁵⁴⁰ which is called³⁰⁰⁴ Sychar,⁴⁹⁶⁵ near⁴¹³⁹ to the³⁵⁸⁸ parcel of ground⁵⁵⁶⁴ that³⁷³⁹ Jacob²³⁸⁴ gave¹³²⁵ to his⁸⁴⁸ son⁵²⁰⁷ Joseph.²⁵⁰¹

6  Now¹¹⁶¹ Jacob's²³⁸⁴ well⁴⁰⁷⁷ was²²⁵⁸ there.¹⁵⁶³ Jesus²⁴²⁴ therefore,³⁷⁶⁷ being wearied²⁸⁷² with¹⁵³⁷ his journey,³⁵⁹⁷ sat²⁵¹⁶ thus³⁷⁷⁹ on¹⁹⁰⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ well:⁴⁰⁷⁷ and it was²²⁵⁸ about⁵⁶¹⁶ the sixth¹⁶²³ hour.⁵⁶¹⁰

7  There cometh²⁰⁶⁴ a woman¹¹³⁵ of¹⁵³⁷ Samaria⁴⁵⁴⁰ to draw⁵⁰¹ water:⁵²⁰⁴ Jesus²⁴²⁴ saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto her,⁸⁴⁶ Give¹³²⁵ me³⁴²⁷ to drink.⁴⁰⁹⁵

8  (For¹⁰⁶³ his⁸⁴⁶ disciples³¹⁰¹ were gone away⁵⁶⁵ unto¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ city⁴¹⁷² to²⁴⁴³ buy⁵⁹ meat.)⁵¹⁶⁰

9  Then³⁷⁶⁷ saith³⁰⁰⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ woman¹¹³⁵ of Samaria⁴⁵⁴² unto him,⁸⁴⁶ How⁴⁴⁵⁹ is it that thou,⁴⁷⁷¹ being⁵⁶⁰⁷ a Jew,²⁴⁵³ askest¹⁵⁴ drink⁴⁰⁹⁵ of³⁸⁴⁴ me,¹⁷⁰⁰ which am⁵⁶⁰⁷ a woman¹¹³⁵ of Samaria?⁴⁵⁴² for¹⁰⁶³ the Jews²⁴⁵³ have no dealings^{4798 3756} with the Samaritans.⁴⁵⁴¹

10  Jesus²⁴²⁴ answered⁶¹¹ and²⁵³² said²⁰³⁶ unto her,⁸⁴⁶ If¹⁴⁸⁷ thou knewest¹⁴⁹² the³⁵⁸⁸ gift¹⁴³¹ of God,²³¹⁶ and²⁵³² who⁵¹⁰¹ it is²⁰⁷⁶ that saith³⁰⁰⁴ to thee,⁴⁶⁷¹ Give¹³²⁵ me³⁴²⁷ to drink;⁴⁰⁹⁵ thou⁴⁷⁷¹ wouldest have asked^{154 302} of him,⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² he would have given^{1325 302} thee⁴⁶⁷¹ living²¹⁹⁸ water.⁵²⁰⁴

11  The³⁵⁸⁸ woman¹¹³⁵ saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Sir,²⁹⁶² thou hast²¹⁹² nothing³⁷⁷⁷ to draw⁵⁰² with, and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ well⁵⁴²¹ is²⁰⁷⁶ deep:⁹⁰¹ from whence⁴¹⁵⁹ then³⁷⁶⁷ hast²¹⁹² thou that living²¹⁹⁸ water?⁵²⁰⁴

12  Art¹⁴⁸⁸ thou^{4771 3361} greater³¹⁸⁷ than our²²⁵⁷ father³⁹⁶² Jacob,²³⁸⁴ which³⁷³⁹ gave¹³²⁵ us²²⁵⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ well,⁵⁴²¹ and²⁵³² drank⁴⁰⁹⁵ thereof^{1537 846} himself,⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² his⁸⁴⁶ children,⁵²⁰⁷ and²⁵³² his⁸⁴⁶ cattle?²³⁵³

15  The³⁵⁸⁸ woman¹¹³⁵ saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto⁴³¹⁴ him,⁸⁴⁶ Sir,²⁹⁶² give¹³²⁵ me³⁴²⁷ this⁵¹²⁴ water,⁵²⁰⁴ that²⁴⁴³ I thirst¹³⁷² not,³³⁶¹ neither³³⁶⁶ come²⁰⁶⁴ hither¹⁷⁵⁹ to draw.⁵⁰¹

16  Jesus²⁴²⁴ saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto her,⁸⁴⁶ Go,⁵²¹⁷ call⁵⁴⁵⁵ thy⁴⁶⁷⁵ husband,⁴³⁵ and²⁵³² come²⁰⁶⁴ hither.¹⁷⁵⁹

17  The³⁵⁸⁸ woman¹¹³⁵ answered⁶¹¹ and²⁵³² said,²⁰³⁶ I have²¹⁹² no³⁷⁵⁶ husband.⁴³⁵ Jesus²⁴²⁴ said³⁰⁰⁴ unto her,⁸⁴⁶ Thou hast well²⁵⁷³ said,²⁰³⁶ I have²¹⁹² no³⁷⁵⁶ husband:⁴³⁵

18  For¹⁰⁶³ thou hast had²¹⁹² five⁴⁰⁰² husbands;⁴³⁵ and²⁵³² he whom³⁷³⁹ thou now³⁵⁶⁸ hast²¹⁹² is²⁰⁷⁶ not³⁷⁵⁶ thy⁴⁶⁷⁵ husband:⁴³⁵ in that⁵¹²⁴ saidst²⁰⁴⁶ thou truly.²²⁷

19  The³⁵⁸⁸ woman¹¹³⁵ saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Sir,²⁹⁶² I perceive²³³⁴ that³⁷⁵⁴ thou⁴⁷⁷¹ art¹⁴⁸⁸ a prophet.⁴³⁹⁶

20  Our²²⁵⁷ fathers³⁹⁶² worshiped⁴³⁵² in¹⁷²² this⁵¹²⁹ mountain;³⁷³⁵ and²⁵³² ye⁵²¹⁰ say,³⁰⁰⁴ that³⁷⁵⁴ in¹⁷²² Jerusalem²⁴¹⁴ is²⁰⁷⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ place⁵¹¹⁷ where³⁶⁹⁹ men ought¹¹⁶³ to worship.⁴³⁵²

21  Jesus²⁴²⁴ saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto her,⁸⁴⁶ Woman,¹¹³⁵ believe⁴¹⁰⁰ me,^{3427 3754} the hour⁵⁶¹⁰ cometh,²⁰⁶⁴ when³⁷⁵³ ye shall neither³⁷⁷⁷ in¹⁷²² this⁵¹²⁹ mountain,³⁷³⁵ nor yet³⁷⁷⁷ at¹⁷²² Jerusalem,²⁴¹⁴ worship⁴³⁵² the³⁵⁸⁸ Father.³⁹⁶²

22  Ye⁵²¹⁰ worship⁴³⁵² ye know¹⁴⁹² not³⁷⁵⁶ what:³⁷³⁹ we²²⁴⁹ know¹⁴⁹² what³⁷³⁹ we worship:⁴³⁵² for³⁷⁵⁴ salvation⁴⁹⁹¹ is²⁰⁷⁶ of¹⁵³⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ Jews.²⁴⁵³

23  But²³⁵ the hour⁵⁶¹⁰ cometh,²⁰⁶⁴ and²⁵³² now³⁵⁶⁸ is,²⁰⁷⁶ when³⁷⁵³ the³⁵⁸⁸ true²²⁸ worshipers⁴³⁵³ shall worship⁴³⁵² the³⁵⁸⁸ Father³⁹⁶² in¹⁷²² spirit⁴¹⁵¹ and²⁵³² in truth:²²⁵ for¹⁰⁶³ the³⁵⁸⁸ Father^{3962 2532} seeketh²²¹² such⁵¹⁰⁸ to worship⁴³⁵² him.⁸⁴⁶

24  God²³¹⁶ is a Spirit:⁴¹⁵¹ and²⁵³² they that worship⁴³⁵² him⁸⁴⁶ must¹¹⁶³ worship⁴³⁵² him in¹⁷²² spirit⁴¹⁵¹ and²⁵³² in truth.²²⁵

25  The³⁵⁸⁸ woman¹¹³⁵ saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ I know¹⁴⁹² that³⁷⁵⁴ Messiah³³²³ cometh,²⁰⁶⁴ which is called³⁰⁰⁴ Christ:⁵⁵⁴⁷ when³⁷⁵² he¹⁵⁶⁵ is come,²⁰⁶⁴ he will tell³¹² us²²⁵⁴ all things.³⁹⁵⁶

26  Jesus²⁴²⁴ saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto her,⁸⁴⁶ I¹⁴⁷³ that speak²⁹⁸⁰ unto thee⁴⁶⁷¹ am¹⁵¹⁰ he.

27  And²⁵³² upon¹⁹⁰⁹ this⁵¹²⁹ came²⁰⁶⁴ his⁸⁴⁶ disciples,³¹⁰¹ and²⁵³² marveled²²⁹⁶ that³⁷⁵⁴ he talked²⁹⁸⁰ with³³²⁶ the woman:¹¹³⁵ yet³³⁰⁵ no man³⁷⁶² said,²⁰³⁶ What⁵¹⁰¹ seekest²²¹² thou? or,²²²⁸ Why⁵¹⁰¹ talkest²⁹⁸⁰ thou with³³²⁶ her?⁸⁴⁶

28  The³⁵⁸⁸ woman¹¹³⁵ then³⁷⁶⁷ left⁸⁶³ her⁸⁴⁸ waterpot,⁵²⁰¹ and²⁵³² went her way⁵⁶⁵ into¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ city,⁴¹⁷² and²⁵³² saith³⁰⁰⁴ to the³⁵⁸⁸ men,⁴⁴⁴

29  Come,¹²⁰⁵ see¹⁴⁹² a man,⁴⁴⁴ which³⁷³⁹ told²⁰³⁶ me³⁴²⁷ all things³⁹⁵⁶ that ever³⁷⁴⁵ I did:⁴¹⁶⁰ is²⁰⁷⁶ not³³⁸⁵ this³⁷⁷⁸ the³⁵⁸⁸ Christ?⁵⁵⁴⁷

30  Then³⁷⁶⁷ they went¹⁸³¹ out of¹⁵³⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ city,⁴¹⁷² and²⁵³² came²⁰⁶⁴ unto⁴³¹⁴ him.⁸⁴⁶

31  ¹¹⁶¹ In¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ mean while³³⁴² his disciples³¹⁰¹ prayed²⁰⁶⁵ him,⁸⁴⁶ saying,³⁰⁰⁴ Master,⁴⁴⁶¹ eat.⁵³¹⁵

32  But¹¹⁶¹ he³⁵⁸⁸ said²⁰³⁶ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ I¹⁴⁷³ have²¹⁹² meat¹⁰³⁵ to eat⁵³¹⁵ that³⁷³⁹ ye⁵²¹⁰ know¹⁴⁹² not³⁷⁵⁶ of.

33  Therefore³⁷⁶⁷ said³⁰⁰⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ disciples³¹⁰¹ one to another,^{240 4314} Hath any man³³⁸⁷ brought⁵³⁴² him⁸⁴⁶ aught to eat?⁵³¹⁵

34  Jesus²⁴²⁴ saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ My¹⁶⁹⁹ meat¹⁰³³ is²⁰⁷⁶ to²⁴⁴³ do⁴¹⁶⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ will²³⁰⁷ of him that sent³⁹⁹² me,³¹⁶⁵ and²⁵³² to finish⁵⁰⁴⁸ his⁸⁴⁶ work.²⁰⁴¹

35  Say³⁰⁰⁴ not³⁷⁵⁶ ye,⁵²¹⁰ There are²⁰⁷⁶ yet²⁰⁸⁹ four months,⁵⁰⁷² and²⁵³² then cometh²⁰⁶⁴ harvest?²³²⁶ behold,²⁴⁰⁰ I say³⁰⁰⁴ unto you,⁵²¹³ Lift up¹⁸⁶⁹ your⁵²¹⁶ eyes,³⁷⁸⁸ and²⁵³² look on²³⁰⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ fields;⁵⁵⁶¹ for³⁷⁵⁴ they are¹⁵²⁶ white³⁰²² already²²³⁵ to⁴³¹⁴ harvest.²³²⁶

36  And²⁵³² he that reapeth²³²⁵ receiveth²⁹⁸³ wages,³⁴⁰⁸ and²⁵³² gathereth⁴⁸⁶³ fruit²⁵⁹⁰ unto¹⁵¹⁹ life²²²² eternal:¹⁶⁶ that²⁴⁴³ both²⁵³² he that soweth⁴⁶⁸⁷ and²⁵³² he that reapeth²³²⁵ may rejoice⁵⁴⁶³ together.³⁶⁷⁴

37  And¹⁰⁶³ herein^{1722 5129} is²⁰⁷⁶ that saying³⁰⁵⁶ true,²²⁸ One²⁴³ soweth,⁴⁶⁸⁷ and²⁵³² another²⁴³ reapeth.²³²⁵

38  I¹⁴⁷³ sent⁶⁴⁹ you⁵²⁰⁹ to reap²³²⁵ that whereon³⁷³⁹ ye⁵²¹⁰ bestowed no labor:^{2872 3756} other men²⁴³ labored,²⁸⁷² and²⁵³² ye⁵²¹⁰ are entered¹⁵²⁵ into¹⁵¹⁹ their⁸⁴⁶ labors.²⁸⁷³

39  And¹¹⁶¹ many⁴¹⁸³ of the³⁵⁸⁸ Samaritans⁴⁵⁴¹ of¹⁵³⁷ that¹⁵⁶⁵ city⁴¹⁷² believed⁴¹⁰⁰ on¹⁵¹⁹ him⁸⁴⁶ for¹²²³ the³⁵⁸⁸ saying³⁰⁵⁶ of the³⁵⁸⁸ woman,¹¹³⁵ which testified,³¹⁴⁰ He told²⁰³⁶ me³⁴²⁷ all³⁹⁵⁶ that ever³⁷⁴⁵ I did.⁴¹⁶⁰

40  So³⁷⁶⁷ when⁵⁶¹³ the³⁵⁸⁸ Samaritans⁴⁵⁴¹ were come²⁰⁶⁴ unto⁴³¹⁴ him,⁸⁴⁶ they besought²⁰⁶⁵ him⁸⁴⁶ that he would tarry³³⁰⁶ with³⁸⁴⁴ them:⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² he abode³³⁰⁶ there¹⁵⁶³ two¹⁴¹⁷ days.²²⁵⁰

41  And²⁵³² many⁴¹⁸³ more⁴¹¹⁹ believed⁴¹⁰⁰ because¹²²³ of his own⁸⁴⁶ word;³⁰⁵⁶

42  And⁵⁰³⁷ said³⁰⁰⁴ unto the³⁵⁸⁸ woman,¹¹³⁵ Now³⁷⁶⁵ we believe,⁴¹⁰⁰ not because¹²²³ of thy⁴⁶⁷⁴ saying:²⁹⁸¹ for¹⁰⁶³ we have heard¹⁹¹ him ourselves,⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² know¹⁴⁹² that³⁷⁵⁴ this³⁷⁷⁸ is²⁰⁷⁶ indeed²³⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ Christ,⁵⁵⁴⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ Savior⁴⁹⁹⁰ of the³⁵⁸⁸ world.²⁸⁸⁹

43  Now¹¹⁶¹ after³³²⁶ two¹⁴¹⁷ days²²⁵⁰ he departed¹⁸³¹ thence,¹⁵⁶⁴ and²⁵³² went⁵⁶⁵ into¹⁵¹⁹ Galilee.¹⁰⁵⁶

44  For¹⁰⁶³ Jesus²⁴²⁴ himself⁸⁴⁶ testified,³¹⁴⁰ that³⁷⁵⁴ a prophet⁴³⁹⁶ hath²¹⁹² no³⁷⁵⁶ honor⁵⁰⁹² in¹⁷²² his own²³⁹⁸ country.³⁹⁶⁸

45  Then³⁷⁶⁷ when³⁷⁵³ he was come²⁰⁶⁴ into¹⁵¹⁹ Galilee,¹⁰⁵⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ Galilaeans¹⁰⁵⁷ received¹²⁰⁹ him,⁸⁴⁶ having seen³⁷⁰⁸ all the things³⁹⁵⁶ that³⁷³⁹ he did⁴¹⁶⁰ at¹⁷²² Jerusalem²⁴¹⁴ at¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ feast:¹⁸⁵⁹ for¹⁰⁶³ they⁸⁴⁶ also²⁵³² went²⁰⁶⁴ unto¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ feast.¹⁸⁵⁹

46  So³⁷⁶⁷ Jesus²⁴²⁴ came²⁰⁶⁴ again³⁸²⁵ into¹⁵¹⁹ Cana²⁵⁸⁰ of Galilee,¹⁰⁵⁶ where³⁶⁹⁹ he made⁴¹⁶⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ water⁵²⁰⁴ wine.³⁶³¹ And²⁵³² there was²²⁵⁸ a certain⁵¹⁰⁰ nobleman,⁹³⁷ whose³⁷³⁹ son⁵²⁰⁷ was sick⁷⁷⁰ at¹⁷²² Capernaum.²⁵⁸⁴

47  When he³⁷⁷⁸ heard¹⁹¹ that³⁷⁵⁴ Jesus²⁴²⁴ was come²²⁴⁰ out of¹⁵³⁷ Judea²⁴⁴⁹ into¹⁵¹⁹ Galilee,¹⁰⁵⁶ he went⁵⁶⁵ unto⁴³¹⁴ him,⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² besought²⁰⁶⁵ him⁸⁴⁶ that²⁴⁴³ he would come down,²⁵⁹⁷ and²⁵³² heal²³⁹⁰ his⁸⁴⁶ son:⁵²⁰⁷ for¹⁰⁶³ he was at the point of death.^{3195 599}

48  Then³⁷⁶⁷ said²⁰³⁶ Jesus²⁴²⁴ unto⁴³¹⁴ him,⁸⁴⁶ Except³³⁶² ye see¹⁴⁹² signs⁴⁵⁹² and²⁵³² wonders,⁵⁰⁵⁹ ye will not³³⁶⁴ believe.⁴¹⁰⁰

49  The³⁵⁸⁸ nobleman⁹³⁷ saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto⁴³¹⁴ him,⁸⁴⁶ Sir,²⁹⁶² come down²⁵⁹⁷ ere⁴²⁵⁰ my³⁴⁵⁰ child³⁸¹³ die.⁵⁹⁹

50  Jesus²⁴²⁴ saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Go thy way;⁴¹⁹⁸ thy⁴⁶⁷⁵ son⁵²⁰⁷ liveth.²¹⁹⁸ And²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ man⁴⁴⁴ believed⁴¹⁰⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ word³⁰⁵⁶ that³⁷³⁹ Jesus²⁴²⁴ had spoken²⁰³⁶ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² he went his way.⁴¹⁹⁸

51  And¹¹⁶¹ as he⁸⁴⁶ was now²²³⁵ going down,²⁵⁹⁷ his⁸⁴⁶ servants¹⁴⁰¹ met⁵²⁸ him,⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² told⁵¹⁸ him, saying,³⁰⁰⁴ Thy⁴⁶⁷⁵ son³⁸¹⁶ liveth.²¹⁹⁸

52  Then³⁷⁶⁷ inquired⁴⁴⁴¹ he of³⁸⁴⁴ them⁸⁴⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ hour⁵⁶¹⁰ when^{1722 3739} he began to amend.^{2192 2866} And²⁵³² they said²⁰³⁶ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Yesterday⁵⁵⁰⁴ at the seventh¹⁴⁴² hour⁵⁶¹⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ fever⁴⁴⁴⁶ left⁸⁶³ him.⁸⁴⁶

53  So³⁷⁶⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ father³⁹⁶² knew¹⁰⁹⁷ that³⁷⁵⁴ it was at¹⁷²² the same¹⁵⁶⁵ hour,⁵⁶¹⁰ in¹⁷²² the which³⁷³⁹ Jesus²⁴²⁴ said²⁰³⁶ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Thy⁴⁶⁷⁵ son⁵²⁰⁷ liveth:²¹⁹⁸ and²⁵³² himself⁸⁴⁶ believed,⁴¹⁰⁰ and²⁵³² his⁸⁴⁶ whole³⁶⁵⁰ house.³⁶¹⁴

54  This⁵¹²⁴ is again³⁸²⁵ the second¹²⁰⁸ miracle⁴⁵⁹² that Jesus²⁴²⁴ did,⁴¹⁶⁰ when he was come²⁰⁶⁴ out of¹⁵³⁷ Judea²⁴⁴⁹ into¹⁵¹⁹ Galilee.¹⁰⁵⁶

1  After³³²⁶ this⁵⁰²³ there was²²⁵⁸ a feast¹⁸⁵⁹ of the³⁵⁸⁸ Jews;²⁴⁵³ and²⁵³² Jesus²⁴²⁴ went up³⁰⁵ to¹⁵¹⁹ Jerusalem.²⁴¹⁴

2  Now¹¹⁶¹ there is²⁰⁷⁶ at¹⁷²² Jerusalem²⁴¹⁴ by¹⁹⁰⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ sheep⁴²⁶² market a pool,²⁸⁶¹ which is called¹⁹⁵¹ in the Hebrew tongue¹⁴⁴⁷ Bethesda,⁹⁶⁴ having²¹⁹² five⁴⁰⁰² porches.⁴⁷⁴⁵

3  In¹⁷²² these⁵⁰²⁵ lay²⁶²¹ a great⁴¹⁸³ multitude⁴¹²⁸ of impotent folk,⁷⁷⁰ of blind,⁵¹⁸⁵ halt,⁵⁵⁶⁰ withered,³⁵⁸⁴ waiting for¹⁵⁵¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ moving²⁷⁹⁶ of the³⁵⁸⁸ water.⁵²⁰⁴

4  For¹⁰⁶³ an angel³² went down²⁵⁹⁷ at a certain season^{2596 2540} into¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ pool,²⁸⁶¹ and²⁵³² troubled⁵⁰¹⁵ the³⁵⁸⁸ water:⁵²⁰⁴ whosoever then³⁷⁶⁷ first⁴⁴¹³ after³³²⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ troubling⁵⁰¹⁶ of the³⁵⁸⁸ water⁵²⁰⁴ stepped in¹⁶⁸⁴ was made¹⁰⁹⁶ whole⁵¹⁹⁹ of whatsoever^{3739 1221} disease³⁵⁵³ he had.²⁷²²

5  And¹¹⁶¹ a certain⁵¹⁰⁰ man⁴⁴⁴ was²²⁵⁸ there,¹⁵⁶³ which had²¹⁹² an¹⁷²² infirmity⁷⁶⁹ thirty and eight^{5144 3638} years.²⁰⁹⁴

6  When Jesus²⁴²⁴ saw¹⁴⁹² him⁵¹²⁶ lie,²⁶²¹ and²⁵³² knew¹⁰⁹⁷ that³⁷⁵⁴ he had been²¹⁹² now²²³⁵ a long⁴¹⁸³ time⁵⁵⁵⁰ in that case, he saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Wilt²³⁰⁹ thou be made¹⁰⁹⁶ whole?⁵¹⁹⁹

7  The³⁵⁸⁸ impotent man⁷⁷⁰ answered⁶¹¹ him,⁸⁴⁶ Sir,²⁹⁶² I have²¹⁹² no³⁷⁵⁶ man,^{444 2443} when³⁷⁵² the³⁵⁸⁸ water⁵²⁰⁴ is troubled,⁵⁰¹⁵ to put⁹⁰⁶ me³¹⁶⁵ into¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ pool:²⁸⁶¹ but¹¹⁶¹ while^{1722 3739} I¹⁴⁷³ am coming,²⁰⁶⁴ another²⁴³ steppeth down²⁵⁹⁷ before⁴²⁵³ me.¹⁷⁰⁰

8  Jesus²⁴²⁴ saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Rise,¹⁴⁵³ take up¹⁴² thy⁴⁶⁷⁵ bed,²⁸⁹⁵ and²⁵³² walk.⁴⁰⁴³

9  And²⁵³² immediately²¹¹² the³⁵⁸⁸ man⁴⁴⁴ was made¹⁰⁹⁶ whole,⁵¹⁹⁹ and²⁵³² took up¹⁴² his⁸⁴⁶ bed,²⁸⁹⁵ and²⁵³² walked:⁴⁰⁴³ and¹¹⁶¹ on¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ same¹⁵⁶⁵ day²²⁵⁰ was²²⁵⁸ the sabbath.⁴⁵²¹

10  The³⁵⁸⁸ Jews²⁴⁵³ therefore³⁷⁶⁷ said³⁰⁰⁴ unto him that was cured,²³²³ It is²⁰⁷⁶ the sabbath day:⁴⁵²¹ it is not lawful^{1832 3756} for thee⁴⁶⁷¹ to carry¹⁴² thy bed.²⁸⁹⁵

11  He answered⁶¹¹ them,⁸⁴⁶ He that made⁴¹⁶⁰ me³¹⁶⁵ whole,⁵¹⁹⁹ the same¹⁵⁶⁵ said²⁰³⁶ unto me,³⁴²⁷ Take up¹⁴² thy⁴⁶⁷⁵ bed,²⁸⁹⁵ and²⁵³² walk.⁴⁰⁴³

12  Then³⁷⁶⁷ asked²⁰⁶⁵ they him,⁸⁴⁶ What⁵¹⁰¹ man⁴⁴⁴ is²⁰⁷⁶ that which said²⁰³⁶ unto thee,⁴⁶⁷¹ Take up¹⁴² thy⁴⁶⁷⁵ bed,²⁸⁹⁵ and²⁵³² walk?⁴⁰⁴³

13  And¹¹⁶¹ he that was healed²³⁹⁰ wist¹⁴⁹² not³⁷⁵⁶ who⁵¹⁰¹ it was:²⁰⁷⁶ for¹⁰⁶³ Jesus²⁴²⁴ had conveyed himself away,¹⁵⁹³ a multitude³⁷⁹³ being⁵⁶⁰⁷ in¹⁷²² that place.⁵¹¹⁷

14  Afterward^{3326 5023} Jesus²⁴²⁴ findeth²¹⁴⁷ him⁸⁴⁶ in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ temple,²⁴¹¹ and²⁵³² said²⁰³⁶ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Behold,²³⁹⁶ thou art made¹⁰⁹⁶ whole:⁵¹⁹⁹ sin²⁶⁴ no more,³³⁷¹ lest³³⁶³ a worse⁵⁵⁰¹ thing⁵¹⁰⁰ come¹⁰⁹⁶ unto thee.⁴⁶⁷¹

15  The³⁵⁸⁸ man⁴⁴⁴ departed,⁵⁶⁵ and²⁵³² told³¹² the³⁵⁸⁸ Jews²⁴⁵³ that³⁷⁵⁴ it was²⁰⁷⁶ Jesus,²⁴²⁴ which had made⁴¹⁰⁰ him⁸⁴⁶ whole.⁵¹⁹⁹

16  And²⁵³² therefore^{1223 5124} did the³⁵⁸⁸ Jews²⁴⁵³ persecute¹³⁷⁷ Jesus,²⁴²⁴ and²⁵³² sought²²¹² to slay⁶¹⁵ him,⁸⁴⁶ because³⁷⁵⁴ he had done⁴¹⁶⁰ these things⁵⁰²³ on¹⁷²² the sabbath day.⁴⁵²¹

17  But¹¹⁶¹ Jesus²⁴²⁴ answered⁶¹¹ them,⁸⁴⁶ My³⁴⁵⁰ Father³⁹⁶² worketh²⁰³⁸ hitherto,^{2193 737} and I²⁵⁰⁴ work.²⁰³⁸

18  Therefore^{1223 5124 3767} the³⁵⁸⁸ Jews²⁴⁵³ sought²²¹² the more³¹²³ to kill⁶¹⁵ him,⁸⁴⁶ because³⁷⁵⁴ he not³⁷⁵⁶ only³⁴⁴⁰ had broken³⁰⁸⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ sabbath,⁴⁵²¹ but²³⁵ said³⁰⁰⁴ also²⁵³² that God²³¹⁶ was his²³⁹⁸ Father,³⁹⁶² making⁴¹⁶⁰ himself¹⁴³⁸ equal²⁴⁷⁰ with God.²³¹⁶

19  Then³⁷⁶⁷ answered⁶¹¹ Jesus²⁴²⁴ and²⁵³² said²⁰³⁶ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ Verily,²⁸¹ verily,²⁸¹ I say³⁰⁰⁴ unto you,⁵²¹³ The³⁵⁸⁸ Son⁵²⁰⁷ can^{1410 3756} do⁴¹⁶⁰ nothing³⁷⁶² of⁵⁷⁵ himself,¹⁴³⁸ but³³⁶² what⁵¹⁰⁰ he seeth⁹⁹¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ Father³⁹⁶² do:⁴¹⁶⁰ for¹⁰⁶³ what things soever^{3739 302} he¹⁵⁶⁵ doeth,⁴¹⁶⁰ these⁵⁰²³ also²⁵³² doeth⁴¹⁶⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ Son⁵²⁰⁷ likewise.³⁶⁶⁸

20  For¹⁰⁶³ the³⁵⁸⁸ Father³⁹⁶² loveth⁵³⁶⁸ the³⁵⁸⁸ Son,⁵²⁰⁷ and²⁵³² showeth¹¹⁶⁶ him⁸⁴⁶ all things³⁹⁵⁶ that³⁷³⁹ himself⁸⁴⁶ doeth:⁴¹⁶⁰ and²⁵³² he will show¹¹⁶⁶ him⁸⁴⁶ greater³¹⁸⁷ works²⁰⁴¹ than these,⁵¹³⁰ that²⁴⁴³ ye⁵²¹⁰ may marvel.²²⁹⁶

21  For¹⁰⁶³ as⁵⁶¹⁸ the³⁵⁸⁸ Father³⁹⁶² raiseth up¹⁴⁵³ the³⁵⁸⁸ dead,³⁴⁹⁸ and²⁵³² quickeneth²²²⁷ them; even so³⁷⁷⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ Son^{5207 2532} quickeneth²²²⁷ whom³⁷³⁹ he will.²³⁰⁹

22  For^{1063 3761} the³⁵⁸⁸ Father³⁹⁶² judgeth²⁹¹⁹ no man,³⁷⁶² but²³⁵ hath committed¹³²⁵ all³⁹⁵⁶ judgment²⁹²⁰ unto the³⁵⁸⁸ Son:⁵²⁰⁷

23  That²⁴⁴³ all³⁹⁵⁶ men should honor⁵⁰⁹¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ Son,⁵²⁰⁷ even as²⁵³¹ they honor⁵⁰⁹¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ Father.³⁹⁶² He that honoreth⁵⁰⁹¹ not³³⁶¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ Son⁵²⁰⁷ honoreth⁵⁰⁹¹ not³⁷⁵⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ Father³⁹⁶² which hath sent³⁹⁹² him.⁸⁴⁶

24  Verily,²⁸¹ verily,²⁸¹ I say³⁰⁰⁴ unto you,^{5213 3754} He that heareth¹⁹¹ my³⁴⁵⁰ word,³⁰⁵⁶ and²⁵³² believeth⁴¹⁰⁰ on him that sent³⁹⁹² me,³¹⁶⁵ hath²¹⁹² everlasting¹⁶⁶ life,²²²² and²⁵³² shall not³⁷⁵⁶ come²⁰⁶⁴ into¹⁵¹⁹ condemnation;²⁹²⁰ but²³⁵ is passed³³²⁷ from¹⁵³⁷ death²²⁸⁸ unto¹⁵¹⁹ life.²²²²

25  Verily,²⁸¹ verily,²⁸¹ I say³⁰⁰⁴ unto you,⁵²¹³ The³⁷⁵⁴ hour⁵⁶¹⁰ is coming,²⁰⁶⁴ and²⁵³² now³⁵⁶⁸ is,²⁰⁷⁶ when³⁷⁵³ the³⁵⁸⁸ dead³⁴⁹⁸ shall hear¹⁹¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ voice⁵⁴⁵⁶ of the³⁵⁸⁸ Son⁵²⁰⁷ of God:²³¹⁶ and²⁵³² they that hear¹⁹¹ shall live.²¹⁹⁸

26  For¹⁰⁶³ as⁵⁶¹⁸ the³⁵⁸⁸ Father³⁹⁶² hath²¹⁹² life²²²² in¹⁷²² himself;¹⁴³⁸ so³⁷⁷⁹ hath he given¹³²⁵ to²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ Son⁵²⁰⁷ to have²¹⁹² life²²²² in¹⁷²² himself;¹⁴³⁸

27  And²⁵³² hath given¹³²⁵ him⁸⁴⁶ authority¹⁸⁴⁹ to execute⁴¹⁶⁰ judgment²⁹²⁰ also,²⁵³² because³⁷⁵⁴ he is²⁰⁷⁶ the Son⁵²⁰⁷ of man.⁴⁴⁴

28  Marvel²²⁹⁶ not³³⁶¹ at this:⁵¹²⁴ for³⁷⁵⁴ the hour⁵⁶¹⁰ is coming,²⁰⁶⁴ in¹⁷²² the which³⁷³⁹ all³⁹⁵⁶ that³⁵⁸⁸ are in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ graves³⁴¹⁹ shall hear¹⁹¹ his⁸⁴⁶ voice,⁵⁴⁵⁶

29  And²⁵³² shall come forth;¹⁶⁰⁷ they that have done⁴¹⁶⁰ good,¹⁸ unto¹⁵¹⁹ the resurrection³⁸⁶ of life;²²²² and¹¹⁶¹ they that have done⁴²³⁸ evil,⁵³³⁷ unto¹⁵¹⁹ the resurrection³⁸⁶ of damnation.²⁹²⁰

30  I¹⁴⁷³ can^{1410 3756} of⁵⁷⁵ mine own self¹⁶⁸³ do⁴¹⁶⁰ nothing:³⁷⁶² as²⁵³¹ I hear,¹⁹¹ I judge:²⁹¹⁹ and²⁵³² my¹⁶⁹⁹ judgment²⁹²⁰ is²⁰⁷⁶ just;¹³⁴² because³⁷⁵⁴ I seek²²¹² not³⁷⁵⁶ mine own¹⁶⁹⁹ will,²³⁰⁷ but²³⁵ the³⁵⁸⁸ will²³⁰⁷ of the³⁵⁸⁸ Father³⁹⁶² which hath sent³⁹⁹² me.³¹⁶⁵

31  If¹⁴³⁷ I¹⁴⁷³ bear witness³¹⁴⁰ of⁴⁰¹² myself,¹⁶⁸³ my³⁴⁵⁰ witness³¹⁴¹ is²⁰⁷⁶ not³⁷⁵⁶ true.²²⁷

32  There is²⁰⁷⁶ another²⁴³ that beareth witness³¹⁴⁰ of⁴⁰¹² me;¹⁷⁰⁰ and²⁵³² I know¹⁴⁹² that³⁷⁵⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ witness³¹⁴¹ which³⁷³⁹ he witnesseth³¹⁴⁰ of⁴⁰¹² me¹⁷⁰⁰ is²⁰⁷⁶ true.²²⁷

33  Ye⁵²¹⁰ sent⁶⁴⁹ unto⁴³¹⁴ John,²⁴⁹¹ and²⁵³² he bare witness³¹⁴⁰ unto the³⁵⁸⁸ truth.²²⁵

34  But¹¹⁶¹ I¹⁴⁷³ receive²⁹⁸³ not³⁷⁵⁶ testimony³¹⁴¹ from³⁸⁴⁴ man:⁴⁴⁴ but²³⁵ these things⁵⁰²³ I say,³⁰⁰⁴ that²⁴⁴³ ye⁵²¹⁰ might be saved.⁴⁹⁸²

35  He¹⁵⁶⁵ was²²⁵⁸ a burning²⁵⁴⁵ and²⁵³² a shining⁵³¹⁶ light:³⁰⁸⁸ and¹¹⁶¹ ye⁵²¹⁰ were willing²³⁰⁹ for⁴³¹⁴ a season⁵⁶¹⁰ to rejoice²¹ in¹⁷²² his⁸⁴⁶ light.⁵⁴⁵⁷

36  But¹¹⁶¹ I¹⁴⁷³ have²¹⁹² greater³¹⁸⁷ witness³¹⁴¹ than that of John:²⁴⁹¹ for¹⁰⁶³ the³⁵⁸⁸ works²⁰⁴¹ which³⁷³⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ Father³⁹⁶² hath given¹³²⁵ me³⁴²⁷ to²⁴⁴³ finish,⁵⁰⁴⁸ the⁸⁴⁶ same⁸⁴⁶ works²⁰⁴¹ that³⁷³⁹ I¹⁴⁷³ do,⁴¹⁶⁰ bear witness³¹⁴⁰ of⁴⁰¹² me,¹⁷⁰⁰ that³⁷⁵⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ Father³⁹⁶² hath sent⁶⁴⁹ me.³¹⁶⁵

37  And²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ Father³⁹⁶² himself,⁸⁴⁶ which hath sent³⁹⁹² me,³¹⁶⁵ hath borne witness³¹⁴⁰ of⁴⁰¹² me.¹⁷⁰⁰ Ye have neither³⁷⁷⁷ heard¹⁹¹ his⁸⁴⁶ voice⁵⁴⁵⁶ at any time,⁴⁴⁵⁵ nor³⁷⁷⁷ seen³⁷⁰⁸ his⁸⁴⁶ shape.¹⁴⁹¹

38  And²⁵³² ye have²¹⁹² not³⁷⁵⁶ his⁸⁴⁶ word³⁰⁵⁶ abiding³³⁰⁶ in¹⁷²² you:⁵²¹³ for³⁷⁵⁴ whom³⁷³⁹ he¹⁵⁶⁵ hath sent,⁶⁴⁹ him⁵¹²⁹ ye⁵²¹⁰ believe⁴¹⁰⁰ not.³⁷⁵⁶

39  Search²⁰⁴⁵ the³⁵⁸⁸ Scriptures;¹¹²⁴ for³⁷⁵⁴ in¹⁷²² them⁸⁴⁶ ye⁵²¹⁰ think¹³⁸⁰ ye have²¹⁹² eternal¹⁶⁶ life:²²²² and²⁵³² they¹⁵⁶⁵ are¹⁵²⁶ they which testify³¹⁴⁰ of⁴⁰¹² me.¹⁷⁰⁰

40  And²⁵³² ye will²³⁰⁹ not³⁷⁵⁶ come²⁰⁶⁴ to⁴³¹⁴ me,³¹⁶⁵ that²⁴⁴³ ye might have²¹⁹² life.²²²²

41  I receive²⁹⁸³ not³⁷⁵⁶ honor¹³⁹¹ from³⁸⁴⁴ men.⁴⁴⁴

42  But²³⁵ I know¹⁰⁹⁷ you,⁵²⁰⁹ that³⁷⁵⁴ ye have²¹⁹² not³⁷⁵⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ love²⁶ of God²³¹⁶ in¹⁷²² you.¹⁴³⁸

43  I¹⁴⁷³ am come²⁰⁶⁴ in¹⁷²² my³⁴⁵⁰ Father's³⁹⁶² name,³⁶⁸⁶ and²⁵³² ye receive²⁹⁸³ me³¹⁶⁵ not:³⁷⁵⁶ if¹⁴³⁷ another²⁴³ shall come²⁰⁶⁴ in¹⁷²² his own²³⁹⁸ name,³⁶⁸⁶ him¹⁵⁶⁵ ye will receive.²⁹⁸³

44  How⁴⁴⁵⁹ can¹⁴¹⁰ ye⁵²¹⁰ believe,⁴¹⁰⁰ which receive²⁹⁸³ honor¹³⁹¹ one of another,^{240 3844} and²⁵³² seek²²¹² not³⁷⁵⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ honor¹³⁹¹ that³⁵⁸⁸ cometh from³⁸⁴⁴ God²³¹⁶ only?³⁴⁴¹

45  Do not³³⁶¹ think¹³⁸⁰ that³⁷⁵⁴ I¹⁴⁷³ will accuse²⁷²³ you⁵²¹⁶ to⁴³¹⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ Father:³⁹⁶² there is²⁰⁷⁶ one that accuseth²⁷²³ you,⁵²¹⁶ even Moses,³⁴⁷⁵ in¹⁵¹⁹ whom³⁷³⁹ ye⁵²¹⁰ trust.¹⁶⁷⁹

46  For¹⁰⁶³ had ye¹⁴⁸⁷ believed⁴¹⁰⁰ Moses,³⁴⁷⁵ ye would have believed^{4100 302} me:¹⁶⁹⁸ for¹⁰⁶³ he¹⁵⁶⁵ wrote¹¹²⁵ of⁴⁰¹² me.¹⁷⁰⁰

47  But¹¹⁶¹ if¹⁴⁸⁷ ye believe⁴¹⁰⁰ not³⁷⁵⁶ his¹⁵⁶⁵ writings,¹¹²¹ how⁴⁴⁵⁹ shall ye believe⁴¹⁰⁰ my¹⁶⁹⁹ words?⁴⁴⁸⁷

1  After³³²⁶ these things⁵⁰²³ Jesus²⁴²⁴ went⁵⁶⁵ over⁴⁰⁰⁸ the³⁵⁸⁸ sea²²⁸¹ of Galilee,¹⁰⁵⁶ which is the sea of Tiberias.⁵⁰⁸⁵

2  And²⁵³² a great⁴¹⁸³ multitude³⁷⁹³ followed¹⁹⁰ him,⁸⁴⁶ because³⁷⁵⁴ they saw³⁷⁰⁸ his⁸⁴⁶ miracles⁴⁵⁹² which³⁷³⁹ he did⁴¹⁶⁰ on¹⁹⁰⁹ them that were diseased.⁷⁷⁰

3  And¹¹⁶¹ Jesus²⁴²⁴ went up⁴²⁴ into¹⁵¹⁹ a mountain,³⁷³⁵ and²⁵³² there¹⁵⁶³ he sat²⁵²¹ with³³²⁶ his⁸⁴⁸ disciples.³¹⁰¹

4  And¹¹⁶¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ passover,³⁹⁵⁷ a feast¹⁸⁵⁹ of the³⁵⁸⁸ Jews,²⁴⁵³ was²²⁵⁸ nigh.¹⁴⁵¹

5  When Jesus²⁴²⁴ then³⁷⁶⁷ lifted up¹⁸⁶⁹ his eyes,³⁷⁸⁸ and²⁵³² saw²³⁰⁰ a³⁷⁵⁴ great⁴¹⁸³ company³⁷⁹³ come²⁰⁶⁴ unto⁴³¹⁴ him,⁸⁴⁶ he saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto⁴³¹⁴ Philip,⁵³⁷⁶ Whence⁴¹⁵⁹ shall we buy⁵⁹ bread,⁷⁴⁰ that²⁴⁴³ these³⁷⁷⁸ may eat?⁵³¹⁵

6  And¹¹⁶¹ this⁵¹²⁴ he said³⁰⁰⁴ to prove³⁹⁸⁵ him:⁸⁴⁶ for¹⁰⁶³ he⁸⁴⁶ himself knew¹⁴⁹² what⁵¹⁰¹ he would³¹⁹⁵ do.⁴¹⁶⁰

7  Philip⁵³⁷⁶ answered⁶¹¹ him,⁸⁴⁶ Two hundred¹²⁵⁰ pennyworth¹²²⁰ of bread⁷⁴⁰ is not sufficient^{714 3756} for them,⁸⁴⁶ that²⁴⁴³ every one¹⁵³⁸ of them⁸⁴⁶ may take²⁹⁸³ a little.^{5100 1024}

8  One¹⁵²⁰ of¹⁵³⁷ his⁸⁴⁶ disciples,³¹⁰¹ Andrew,⁴⁰⁶ Simon⁴⁶¹³ Peter's⁴⁰⁷⁴ brother,⁸⁰ saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto him,⁸⁴⁶

9  There is²⁰⁷⁶ a¹⁵²⁰ lad³⁸⁰⁸ here,⁵⁶⁰² which³⁷³⁹ hath²¹⁹² five⁴⁰⁰² barley²⁹¹⁶ loaves,⁷⁴⁰ and²⁵³² two¹⁴¹⁷ small fishes:³⁷⁹⁵ but²³⁵ what⁵¹⁰¹ are²⁰⁷⁶ they⁵⁰²³ among¹⁵¹⁹ so many?⁵¹¹⁸

10  And¹¹⁶¹ Jesus²⁴²⁴ said,²⁰³⁶ Make⁴¹⁶⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ men⁴⁴⁴ sit down.³⁷⁷ Now¹¹⁶¹ there was²²⁵⁸ much⁴¹⁸³ grass⁵⁵²⁸ in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ place.⁵¹¹⁷ So³⁷⁶⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ men⁴³⁵ sat down,³⁷⁷ in number⁷⁰⁶ about⁵⁶¹⁶ five thousand.⁴⁰⁰⁰

11  And¹¹⁶¹ Jesus²⁴²⁴ took²⁹⁸³ the³⁵⁸⁸ loaves;⁷⁴⁰ and²⁵³² when he had given thanks,²¹⁶⁸ he distributed¹²³⁹ to the³⁵⁸⁸ disciples,³¹⁰¹ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ disciples³¹⁰¹ to them that were set down;³⁴⁵ and²⁵³² likewise³⁶⁶⁸ of¹⁵³⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ fishes³⁷⁹⁵ as much as³⁷⁴⁵ they would.²³⁰⁹

12  ¹¹⁶¹ When⁵⁶¹³ they were filled,¹⁷⁰⁵ he said³⁰⁰⁴ unto his⁸⁴⁸ disciples,³¹⁰¹ Gather up⁴⁸⁶³ the³⁵⁸⁸ fragments²⁸⁰¹ that remain,⁴⁰⁵² that²⁴⁴³ nothing^{5100 3361} be lost.⁶²²

13  Therefore³⁷⁶⁷ they gathered them together,⁴⁸⁶³ and²⁵³² filled¹⁰⁷² twelve¹⁴²⁷ baskets²⁸⁹⁴ with the fragments²⁸⁰¹ of¹⁵³⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ five⁴⁰⁰² barley²⁹¹⁶ loaves,⁷⁴⁰ which³⁷³⁹ remained over and above⁴⁰⁵² unto them that had eaten.⁹⁷⁷

14  Then³⁷⁶⁷ those men,⁴⁴⁴ when they had seen¹⁴⁹² the miracle⁴⁵⁹² that³⁷³⁹ Jesus²⁴²⁴ did,⁴¹⁶⁰ said,³⁰⁰⁴ This³⁷⁷⁸ is²⁰⁷⁶ of a truth²³⁰ that prophet⁴³⁹⁶ that should come²⁰⁶⁴ into¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ world.²⁸⁸⁹

15  When Jesus²⁴²⁴ therefore³⁷⁶⁷ perceived¹⁰⁹⁷ that³⁷⁵⁴ they would³¹⁹⁵ come²⁰⁶⁴ and²⁵³² take him by force,^{726 846} to²⁴⁴³ make⁴¹⁶⁰ him⁸⁴⁶ a king,⁹³⁵ he departed⁴⁰² again³⁸²⁵ into¹⁵¹⁹ a mountain³⁷³⁵ himself⁸⁴⁶ alone.³⁴⁴¹

16  And¹¹⁶¹ when⁵⁶¹³ even³⁷⁹⁸ was now come,¹⁰⁹⁶ his⁸⁴⁶ disciples³¹⁰¹ went down²⁵⁹⁷ unto¹⁹⁰⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ sea,²²⁸¹

17  And²⁵³² entered¹⁶⁸⁴ into¹⁵¹⁹ a ship,⁴¹⁴³ and went²⁰⁶⁴ over⁴⁰⁰⁸ the³⁵⁸⁸ sea²²⁸¹ toward¹⁵¹⁹ Capernaum.²⁵⁸⁴ And²⁵³² it was¹⁰⁹⁶ now²²³⁵ dark,⁴⁶⁵³ and²⁵³² Jesus²⁴²⁴ was not³⁷⁵⁶ come²⁰⁶⁴ to⁴³¹⁴ them.⁸⁴⁶

18  And⁵⁰³⁷ the³⁷³⁹ sea²²⁸¹ arose¹³²⁶ by reason of a great³¹⁷³ wind⁴¹⁷ that blew.⁴¹⁵⁴

19  So³⁷⁶⁷ when they had rowed¹⁶⁴³ about⁵⁶¹³ five and twenty^{4002 1501} or²²²⁸ thirty⁵¹⁴⁴ furlongs,⁴⁷¹² they see²³³⁴ Jesus²⁴²⁴ walking⁴⁰⁴³ on¹⁹⁰⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ sea,²²⁸¹ and²⁵³² drawing¹⁰⁹⁶ nigh¹⁴⁵¹ unto the³⁵⁸⁸ ship:⁴¹⁴³ and²⁵³² they were afraid.⁵³⁹⁹

20  But¹¹⁶¹ he³⁵⁸⁸ saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ It is¹⁵¹⁰ I;¹⁴⁷³ be not afraid.^{5399 3361}

21  Then³⁷⁶⁷ they willingly²³⁰⁹ received²⁹⁸³ him⁸⁴⁶ into¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ ship:⁴¹⁴³ and²⁵³² immediately²¹¹² the³⁵⁸⁸ ship⁴¹⁴³ was¹⁰⁹⁶ at¹⁹⁰⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ land¹⁰⁹³ whither^{1519 3739} they went.⁵²¹⁷

22  The³⁵⁸⁸ day following,¹⁸⁸⁷ when the³⁵⁸⁸ people³⁷⁹³ which stood²⁴⁷⁶ on the other side⁴⁰⁰⁸ of the³⁵⁸⁸ sea²²⁸¹ saw¹⁴⁹² that³⁷⁵⁴ there was²²⁵⁸ none³⁷⁵⁶ other²⁴³ boat⁴¹⁴² there,¹⁵⁶³ save¹⁵⁰⁸ that¹⁵⁶⁵ one¹⁵²⁰ whereinto^{1519 3739} his⁸⁴⁸ disciples³¹⁰¹ were entered,¹⁶⁸⁴ and²⁵³² that³⁷⁵⁴ Jesus²⁴²⁴ went not with^{4897 3756} his⁸⁴⁶ disciples³¹⁰¹ into¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ boat,⁴¹⁴² but²³⁵ that his⁸⁴⁶ disciples³¹⁰¹ were gone away⁵⁶⁵ alone;³⁴⁴¹

23  (Howbeit¹¹⁶¹ there came²⁰⁶⁴ other²⁴³ boats⁴¹⁴² from¹⁵³⁷ Tiberias⁵⁰⁸⁵ nigh unto¹⁴⁵¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ place⁵¹¹⁷ where³⁶⁹⁹ they did eat⁵³¹⁵ bread,⁷⁴⁰ after that the³⁵⁸⁸ Lord²⁹⁶² had given thanks:)²¹⁶⁸

24  When³⁷⁵³ the³⁵⁸⁸ people³⁷⁹³ therefore³⁷⁶⁷ saw¹⁴⁹² that³⁷⁵⁴ Jesus²⁴²⁴ was²⁰⁷⁶ not³⁷⁵⁶ there,¹⁵⁶³ neither³⁷⁶¹ his⁸⁴⁶ disciples,³¹⁰¹ they⁸⁴⁶ also²⁵³² took¹⁶⁸⁴ shipping,^{1519 4143} and²⁵³² came²⁰⁶⁴ to¹⁵¹⁹ Capernaum,²⁵⁸⁴ seeking for²²¹² Jesus.²⁴²⁴

25  And²⁵³² when they had found²¹⁴⁷ him⁸⁴⁶ on the other side⁴⁰⁰⁸ of the³⁵⁸⁸ sea,²²⁸¹ they said²⁰³⁶ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Rabbi,⁴⁴⁶¹ when⁴²¹⁹ camest¹⁰⁹⁶ thou hither?⁵⁶⁰²

26  Jesus²⁴²⁴ answered⁶¹¹ them⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² said,²⁰³⁶ Verily,²⁸¹ verily,²⁸¹ I say³⁰⁰⁴ unto you,⁵²¹³ Ye seek²²¹² me,³¹⁶⁵ not³⁷⁵⁶ because³⁷⁵⁴ ye saw¹⁴⁹² the miracles,⁴⁵⁹² but²³⁵ because³⁷⁵⁴ ye did eat⁵³¹⁵ of¹⁵³⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ loaves,⁷⁴⁰ and²⁵³² were filled.⁵⁵²⁶

27  Labor²⁰³⁸ not³³⁶¹ for the³⁵⁸⁸ meat¹⁰³⁵ which perisheth,⁶²² but²³⁵ for that meat¹⁰³⁵ which endureth³³⁰⁶ unto¹⁵¹⁹ everlasting¹⁶⁶ life,²²²² which³⁷³⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ Son⁵²⁰⁷ of man⁴⁴⁴ shall give¹³²⁵ unto you:⁵²¹³ for¹⁰⁶³ him⁵¹²⁶ hath God²³¹⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ Father³⁹⁶² sealed.⁴⁹⁷²

28  Then³⁷⁶⁷ said²⁰³⁶ they unto⁴³¹⁴ him,⁸⁴⁶ What⁵¹⁰¹ shall we do,⁴¹⁶⁰ that²⁴⁴³ we might work²⁰³⁸ the³⁵⁸⁸ works²⁰⁴¹ of God?²³¹⁶

29  Jesus²⁴²⁴ answered⁶¹¹ and²⁵³² said²⁰³⁶ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ This⁵¹²⁴ is²⁰⁷⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ work²⁰⁴¹ of God,²³¹⁶ that²⁴⁴³ ye believe⁴¹⁰⁰ on¹⁵¹⁹ him whom³⁷³⁹ he¹⁵⁶⁵ hath sent.⁶⁴⁹

30  They said²⁰³⁶ therefore³⁷⁶⁷ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ What⁵¹⁰¹ sign⁴⁵⁹² showest⁴¹⁶⁰ thou⁴⁷⁷¹ then,³⁷⁶⁷ that²⁴⁴³ we may see,¹⁴⁹² and²⁵³² believe⁴¹⁰⁰ thee?⁴⁶⁷¹ what⁵¹⁰¹ dost thou work?²⁰³⁸

31  Our²²⁵⁷ fathers³⁹⁶² did eat⁵³¹⁵ manna³¹³¹ in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ desert;²⁰⁴⁸ as²⁵³¹ it is²⁰⁷⁶ written,¹¹²⁵ He gave¹³²⁵ them⁸⁴⁶ bread⁷⁴⁰ from¹⁵³⁷ heaven³⁷⁷² to eat.⁵³¹⁵

32  Then³⁷⁶⁷ Jesus²⁴²⁴ said²⁰³⁶ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ Verily,²⁸¹ verily,²⁸¹ I say³⁰⁰⁴ unto you,⁵²¹³ Moses³⁴⁷⁵ gave¹³²⁵ you⁵²¹³ not³⁷⁵⁶ that bread⁷⁴⁰ from¹⁵³⁷ heaven;³⁷⁷² but²³⁵ my³⁴⁵⁰ Father³⁹⁶² giveth¹³²⁵ you⁵²¹³ the³⁵⁸⁸ true²²⁸ bread⁷⁴⁰ from¹⁵³⁷ heaven.³⁷⁷²

33  For¹⁰⁶³ the³⁵⁸⁸ bread⁷⁴⁰ of God²³¹⁶ is²⁰⁷⁶ he which cometh down²⁵⁹⁷ from¹⁵³⁷ heaven,³⁷⁷² and²⁵³² giveth¹³²⁵ life²²²² unto the³⁵⁸⁸ world.²⁸⁸⁹

34  Then³⁷⁶⁷ said²⁰³⁶ they unto⁴³¹⁴ him,⁸⁴⁶ Lord,²⁹⁶² evermore³⁸⁴² give¹³²⁵ us²²⁵⁴ this⁵¹²⁶ bread.⁷⁴⁰

35  And¹¹⁶¹ Jesus²⁴²⁴ said²⁰³⁶ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ I¹⁴⁷³ am¹⁵¹⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ bread⁷⁴⁰ of life:²²²² he that cometh²⁰⁶⁴ to⁴³¹⁴ me³¹⁶⁵ shall never³³⁶⁴ hunger;³⁹⁸³ and²⁵³² he that believeth⁴¹⁰⁰ on¹⁵¹⁹ me¹⁶⁹¹ shall never^{3364 4455} thirst.¹³⁷²

36  But²³⁵ I said²⁰³⁶ unto you,⁵²¹³ That³⁷⁵⁴ ye also²⁵³² have seen³⁷⁰⁸ me,³¹⁶⁵ and²⁵³² believe⁴¹⁰⁰ not.³⁷⁵⁶

37  All³⁹⁵⁶ that³⁷³⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ Father³⁹⁶² giveth¹³²⁵ me³⁴²⁷ shall come²²⁴⁰ to⁴³¹⁴ me;¹⁶⁹¹ and²⁵³² him that cometh²⁰⁶⁴ to⁴³¹⁴ me³¹⁶⁵ I will in no wise³³⁶⁴ cast¹⁵⁴⁴ out.¹⁸⁵⁴

38  For³⁷⁵⁴ I came down²⁵⁹⁷ from¹⁵³⁷ heaven,³⁷⁷² not³⁷⁵⁶ to²⁴⁴³ do⁴¹⁶⁰ mine own¹⁶⁹⁹ will,²³⁰⁷ but²³⁵ the³⁵⁸⁸ will²³⁰⁷ of him that sent³⁹⁹² me.³¹⁶⁵

39  And¹¹⁶¹ this⁵¹²⁴ is²⁰⁷⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ Father's³⁹⁶² will²³⁰⁷ which hath sent³⁹⁹² me,³¹⁶⁵ that²⁴⁴³ of all³⁹⁵⁶ which³⁷³⁹ he hath given¹³²⁵ me³⁴²⁷ I should³³⁶¹ lose⁶²² nothing,^{1537 846} but²³⁵ should raise it up again^{450 846} at¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ last²⁰⁷⁸ day.²²⁵⁰

40  And¹¹⁶¹ this⁵¹²⁴ is²⁰⁷⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ will²³⁰⁷ of him that sent³⁹⁹² me,³¹⁶⁵ that²⁴⁴³ every one³⁹⁵⁶ which seeth²³³⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ Son,⁵²⁰⁷ and²⁵³² believeth⁴¹⁰⁰ on¹⁵¹⁹ him,⁸⁴⁶ may have²¹⁹² everlasting¹⁶⁶ life:²²²² and²⁵³² I¹⁴⁷³ will raise him up^{450 846} at the³⁵⁸⁸ last²⁰⁷⁸ day.²²⁵⁰

41  The³⁵⁸⁸ Jews²⁴⁵³ then³⁷⁶⁷ murmured¹¹¹¹ at⁴⁰¹² him,⁸⁴⁶ because³⁷⁵⁴ he said,²⁰³⁶ I¹⁴⁷³ am¹⁵¹⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ bread⁷⁴⁰ which came down²⁵⁹⁷ from¹⁵³⁷ heaven.³⁷⁷²

42  And²⁵³² they said,³⁰⁰⁴ Is²⁰⁷⁶ not³⁷⁵⁶ this³⁷⁷⁸ Jesus,²⁴²⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ son⁵²⁰⁷ of Joseph,²⁵⁰¹ whose³⁷³⁹ father³⁹⁶² and²⁵³² mother³³⁸⁴ we²²⁴⁹ know?¹⁴⁹² how⁴⁴⁵⁹ is it then³⁷⁶⁷ that he³⁷⁷⁸ saith,³⁰⁰⁴ I came down²⁵⁹⁷ from¹⁵³⁷ heaven?³⁷⁷²

43  Jesus²⁴²⁴ therefore³⁷⁶⁷ answered⁶¹¹ and²⁵³² said²⁰³⁶ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ Murmur¹¹¹¹ not³³⁶¹ among³³²⁶ yourselves.²⁴⁰

44  No man³⁷⁶² can¹⁴¹⁰ come²⁰⁶⁴ to⁴³¹⁴ me,³¹⁶⁵ except³³⁶² the³⁵⁸⁸ Father³⁹⁶² which hath sent³⁹⁹² me³¹⁶⁵ draw¹⁶⁷⁰ him:⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² I¹⁴⁷³ will raise him up^{450 846} at the³⁵⁸⁸ last²⁰⁷⁸ day.²²⁵⁰

45  It is²⁰⁷⁶ written¹¹²⁵ in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ prophets,⁴³⁹⁶ And²⁵³² they shall be²⁰⁷¹ all³⁹⁵⁶ taught¹³¹⁸ of God.²³¹⁶ Every man³⁹⁵⁶ therefore³⁷⁶⁷ that hath heard,¹⁹¹ and²⁵³² hath learned³¹²⁹ of³⁸⁴⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ Father,³⁹⁶² cometh²⁰⁶⁴ unto⁴³¹⁴ me.³¹⁶⁵

46  Not³⁷⁵⁶ that³⁷⁵⁴ any man⁵¹⁰⁰ hath seen³⁷⁰⁸ the³⁵⁸⁸ Father,³⁹⁶² save¹⁵⁰⁸ he which is⁵⁶⁰⁷ of³⁸⁴⁴ God,²³¹⁶ he³⁷⁷⁸ hath seen³⁷⁰⁸ the³⁵⁸⁸ Father.³⁹⁶²

47  Verily,²⁸¹ verily,²⁸¹ I say³⁰⁰⁴ unto you,⁵²¹³ He that believeth⁴¹⁰⁰ on¹⁵¹⁹ me¹⁶⁹¹ hath²¹⁹² everlasting¹⁶⁶ life.²²²²

48  I¹⁴⁷³ am¹⁵¹⁰ that bread⁷⁴⁰ of life.²²²²

49  Your⁵²¹⁶ fathers³⁹⁶² did eat⁵³¹⁵ manna³¹³¹ in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ wilderness,²⁰⁴⁸ and²⁵³² are dead.⁵⁹⁹

50  This³⁷⁷⁸ is²⁰⁷⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ bread⁷⁴⁰ which cometh down²⁵⁹⁷ from¹⁵³⁷ heaven,³⁷⁷² that²⁴⁴³ a man⁵¹⁰⁰ may eat⁵³¹⁵ thereof,^{1537 846} and²⁵³² not³³⁶¹ die.⁵⁹⁹

51  I¹⁴⁷³ am¹⁵¹⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ living²¹⁹⁸ bread⁷⁴⁰ which came down²⁵⁹⁷ from¹⁵³⁷ heaven:³⁷⁷² if¹⁴³⁷ any man⁵¹⁰⁰ eat⁵³¹⁵ of¹⁵³⁷ this⁵¹²⁷ bread,⁷⁴⁰ he shall live²¹⁹⁸ forever:^{1519 165} and¹¹⁶¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ bread⁷⁴⁰ that³⁷³⁹ I¹⁴⁷³ will give¹³²⁵ is²⁰⁷⁶ my³⁴⁵⁰ flesh,⁴⁵⁶¹ which³⁷³⁹ I¹⁴⁷³ will give¹³²⁵ for⁵²²⁸ the³⁵⁸⁸ life²²²² of the³⁵⁸⁸ world.²⁸⁸⁹

52  The³⁵⁸⁸ Jews²⁴⁵³ therefore³⁷⁶⁷ strove³¹⁶⁴ among⁴³¹⁴ themselves,²⁴⁰ saying,³⁰⁰⁴ How⁴⁴⁵⁹ can¹⁴¹⁰ this man³⁷⁷⁸ give¹³²⁵ us²²⁵⁴ his flesh⁴⁵⁶¹ to eat?⁵³¹⁵

53  Then³⁷⁶⁷ Jesus²⁴²⁴ said²⁰³⁶ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ Verily,²⁸¹ verily,²⁸¹ I say³⁰⁰⁴ unto you,⁵²¹³ Except³³⁶² ye eat⁵³¹⁵ the³⁵⁸⁸ flesh⁴⁵⁶¹ of the³⁵⁸⁸ Son⁵²⁰⁷ of man,⁴⁴⁴ and²⁵³² drink⁴⁰⁹⁵ his⁸⁴⁶ blood,¹²⁹ ye have²¹⁹² no³⁷⁵⁶ life²²²² in¹⁷²² you.¹⁴³⁸

54  Whoso eateth⁵¹⁷⁶ my³⁴⁵⁰ flesh,⁴⁵⁶¹ and²⁵³² drinketh⁴⁰⁹⁵ my³⁴⁵⁰ blood,¹²⁹ hath²¹⁹² eternal¹⁶⁶ life;²²²² and²⁵³² I¹⁴⁷³ will raise him up^{450 846} at the³⁵⁸⁸ last²⁰⁷⁸ day.²²⁵⁰

55  For¹⁰⁶³ my³⁴⁵⁰ flesh⁴⁵⁶¹ is²⁰⁷⁶ meat¹⁰³⁵ indeed,²³⁰ and²⁵³² my³⁴⁵⁰ blood¹²⁹ is²⁰⁷⁶ drink⁴²¹³ indeed.²³⁰

56  He that eateth⁵¹⁷⁶ my³⁴⁵⁰ flesh,⁴⁵⁶¹ and²⁵³² drinketh⁴⁰⁹⁵ my³⁴⁵⁰ blood,¹²⁹ dwelleth³³⁰⁶ in¹⁷²² me,¹⁶⁹⁸ and I²⁵⁰⁴ in¹⁷²² him.⁸⁴⁶

57  As²⁵³¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ living²¹⁹⁸ Father³⁹⁶² hath sent⁶⁴⁹ me,³¹⁶⁵ and I²⁵⁰⁴ live²¹⁹⁸ by¹²²³ the³⁵⁸⁸ Father:³⁹⁶² so²⁵³² he that eateth⁵¹⁷⁶ me,³¹⁶⁵ even he²⁵⁴⁸ shall live²¹⁹⁸ by¹²²³ me.¹⁶⁹¹

58  This³⁷⁷⁸ is²⁰⁷⁶ that bread⁷⁴⁰ which came down²⁵⁹⁷ from¹⁵³⁷ heaven:³⁷⁷² not³⁷⁵⁶ as²⁵³¹ your⁵²¹⁶ fathers³⁹⁶² did eat⁵³¹⁵ manna,³¹³¹ and²⁵³² are dead:⁵⁹⁹ he that eateth⁵¹⁷⁶ of this⁵¹²⁶ bread⁷⁴⁰ shall live²¹⁹⁸ forever.^{1519 165}

59  These things⁵⁰²³ said²⁰³⁶ he in¹⁷²² the synagogue,⁴⁸⁶⁴ as he taught¹³²¹ in¹⁷²² Capernaum.²⁵⁸⁴

60  Many⁴¹⁸³ therefore³⁷⁶⁷ of¹⁵³⁷ his⁸⁴⁶ disciples,³¹⁰¹ when they had heard¹⁹¹ this, said,²⁰³⁶ This³⁷⁷⁸ is²⁰⁷⁶ a hard⁴⁶⁴² saying;³⁰⁵⁶ who⁵¹⁰¹ can¹⁴¹⁰ hear¹⁹¹ it?⁸⁴⁶

61  When¹¹⁶¹ Jesus²⁴²⁴ knew¹⁴⁹² in¹⁷²² himself¹⁴³⁸ that³⁷⁵⁴ his⁸⁴⁶ disciples³¹⁰¹ murmured¹¹¹¹ at⁴⁰¹² it,⁵¹²⁷ he said²⁰³⁶ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ Doth this⁵¹²⁴ offend⁴⁶²⁴ you?⁵²⁰⁹

62  What and³⁷⁶⁷ if¹⁴³⁷ ye shall see²³³⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ Son⁵²⁰⁷ of man⁴⁴⁴ ascend up³⁰⁵ where³⁶⁹⁹ he was²²⁵⁸ before?⁴³⁸⁶

63  It is²⁰⁷⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ spirit⁴¹⁵¹ that quickeneth;²²²⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ flesh^{4561 3756} profiteth⁵⁶²³ nothing:³⁷⁶² the³⁵⁸⁸ words⁴⁴⁸⁷ that³⁷³⁹ I¹⁴⁷³ speak²⁹⁸⁰ unto you,⁵²¹³ they are²⁰⁷⁶ spirit,⁴¹⁵¹ and²⁵³² they are²⁰⁷⁶ life.²²²²

64  But²³⁵ there are¹⁵²⁶ some⁵¹⁰⁰ of¹⁵³⁷ you⁵²¹⁶ that³⁷³⁹ believe⁴¹⁰⁰ not.³⁷⁵⁶ For¹⁰⁶³ Jesus²⁴²⁴ knew¹⁴⁹² from¹⁵³⁷ the beginning⁷⁴⁶ who⁵¹⁰¹ they were¹⁵²⁶ that believed⁴¹⁰⁰ not,³³⁶¹ and²⁵³² who⁵¹⁰¹ should²⁰⁷⁶ betray³⁸⁶⁰ him.⁸⁴⁶

1  ²⁵³² After³³²⁶ these things⁵⁰²³ Jesus²⁴²⁴ walked⁴⁰⁴³ in¹⁷²² Galilee:¹⁰⁵⁶ for¹⁰⁶³ he would²³⁰⁹ not³⁷⁵⁶ walk⁴⁰⁴³ in¹⁷²² Jewry,²⁴⁴⁹ because³⁷⁵⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ Jews²⁴⁵³ sought²²¹² to kill⁶¹⁵ him.⁸⁴⁶

2  Now¹¹⁶¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ Jews'²⁴⁵³ feast¹⁸⁵⁹ of tabernacles⁴⁶³⁴ was²²⁵⁸ at hand.¹⁴⁵¹

3  His⁸⁴⁶ brethren⁸⁰ therefore³⁷⁶⁷ said²⁰³⁶ unto⁴³¹⁴ him,⁸⁴⁶ Depart³³²⁷ hence,¹⁷⁸² and²⁵³² go⁵²¹⁷ into¹⁵¹⁹ Judea,²⁴⁴⁹ that²⁴⁴³ thy⁴⁶⁷⁵ disciples³¹⁰¹ also²⁵³² may see²³³⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ works²⁰⁴¹ that³⁷³⁹ thou doest.⁴¹⁶⁰

4  For¹⁰⁶³ there is no man³⁷⁶² that doeth⁴¹⁶⁰ any thing⁵¹⁰⁰ in¹⁷²² secret,²⁹²⁷ and²⁵³² he⁸⁴⁶ himself seeketh²²¹² to be¹⁵¹¹ known openly.^{1722 3954} If¹⁴⁸⁷ thou do⁴¹⁶⁰ these things,⁵⁰²³ show⁵³¹⁹ thyself⁴⁵⁷² to the³⁵⁸⁸ world.²⁸⁸⁹

5  For¹⁰⁶³ neither³⁷⁶¹ did his⁸⁴⁶ brethren⁸⁰ believe⁴¹⁰⁰ in¹⁵¹⁹ him.⁸⁴⁶

6  Then³⁷⁶⁷ Jesus²⁴²⁴ said³⁰⁰⁴ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ My¹⁶⁹⁹ time²⁵⁴⁰ is not yet³⁷⁶⁸ come:³⁹¹⁸ but¹¹⁶¹ your⁵²¹² time²⁵⁴⁰ is²⁰⁷⁶ always³⁸⁴² ready.²⁰⁹²

7  The³⁵⁸⁸ world²⁸⁸⁹ cannot^{1410 3756} hate³⁴⁰⁴ you;⁵²⁰⁹ but¹¹⁶¹ me¹⁶⁹¹ it hateth,³⁴⁰⁴ because³⁷⁵⁴ I¹⁴⁷³ testify³¹⁴⁰ of⁴⁰¹² it,⁸⁴⁶ that³⁷⁵⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ works²⁰⁴¹ thereof⁸⁴⁶ are²⁰⁷⁶ evil.⁴¹⁹⁰

8  Go ye up^{305 5210} unto¹⁵¹⁹ this⁵⁰²⁶ feast:¹⁸⁵⁹ I¹⁴⁷³ go not up yet^{305 3768} unto¹⁵¹⁹ this⁵⁰²⁶ feast;¹⁸⁵⁹ for³⁷⁵⁴ my¹⁶⁹⁹ time²⁵⁴⁰ is not yet³⁷⁶⁸ full come.⁴¹³⁷

9  When¹¹⁶¹ he had said²⁰³⁶ these words⁵⁰²³ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ he abode³³⁰⁶ still in¹⁷²² Galilee.¹⁰⁵⁶

10  But¹¹⁶¹ when⁵⁶¹³ his⁸⁴⁶ brethren⁸⁰ were gone up,³⁰⁵ then⁵¹¹⁹ went he also up^{305 846 2532} unto¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ feast,¹⁸⁵⁹ not³⁷⁵⁶ openly,⁵³²⁰ but²³⁵ as it were⁵⁶¹³ in¹⁷²² secret.²⁹²⁷

11  Then³⁷⁶⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ Jews²⁴⁵³ sought²²¹² him⁸⁴⁶ at¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ feast,¹⁸⁵⁹ and²⁵³² said,³⁰⁰⁴ Where⁴²²⁶ is²⁰⁷⁶ he?¹⁵⁶⁵

12  And²⁵³² there was²²⁵⁸ much⁴¹⁸³ murmuring¹¹¹² among¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ people³⁷⁹³ concerning⁴⁰¹² him:⁸⁴⁶ for¹⁰⁶³ some^{3588 3303} said,³⁰⁰⁴ He is²⁰⁷⁶ a good man:^{18 1161} others²⁴³ said,³⁰⁰⁴ Nay;³⁷⁵⁶ but²³⁵ he deceiveth⁴¹⁰⁵ the³⁵⁸⁸ people.³⁷⁹³

13  Howbeit³³⁰⁵ no man³⁷⁶² spake²⁹⁸⁰ openly³⁹⁵⁴ of⁴⁰¹² him⁸⁴⁶ for¹²²³ fear⁵⁴⁰¹ of the³⁵⁸⁸ Jews.²⁴⁵³

14  Now¹¹⁶¹ about²²³⁵ the midst³³²² of the³⁵⁸⁸ feast¹⁸⁵⁹ Jesus²⁴²⁴ went up³⁰⁵ into¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ temple,²⁴¹¹ and²⁵³² taught.¹³²¹

15  And²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ Jews²⁴⁵³ marveled,²²⁹⁶ saying,³⁰⁰⁴ How⁴⁴⁵⁹ knoweth¹⁴⁹² this man³⁷⁷⁸ letters,¹¹²¹ having never³³⁶¹ learned?³¹²⁹

16  Jesus²⁴²⁴ answered⁶¹¹ them,⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² said,²⁰³⁶ My¹⁶⁹⁹ doctrine¹³²² is²⁰⁷⁶ not³⁷⁵⁶ mine,¹⁶⁹⁹ but²³⁵ his that sent³⁹⁹² me.³¹⁶⁵

17  If¹⁴³⁷ any man⁵¹⁰⁰ will²³⁰⁹ do⁴¹⁶⁰ his⁸⁴⁶ will,²³⁰⁷ he shall know¹⁰⁹⁷ of⁴⁰¹² the³⁵⁸⁸ doctrine,¹³²² whether⁴²²⁰ it be²⁰⁷⁶ of¹⁵³⁷ God,²³¹⁶ or²²²⁸ whether I¹⁴⁷³ speak²⁹⁸⁰ of⁵⁷⁵ myself.¹⁶⁸³

18  He that speaketh²⁹⁸⁰ of⁵⁷⁵ himself¹⁴³⁸ seeketh²²¹² his own²³⁹⁸ glory:¹³⁹¹ but¹¹⁶¹ he that seeketh²²¹² his glory¹³⁹¹ that sent³⁹⁹² him,⁸⁴⁶ the same³⁷⁷⁸ is²⁰⁷⁶ true,²²⁷ and²⁵³² no³⁷⁵⁶ unrighteousness⁹³ is²⁰⁷⁶ in¹⁷²² him.⁸⁴⁶

19  Did not³⁷⁵⁶ Moses³⁴⁷⁵ give¹³²⁵ you⁵²¹³ the³⁵⁸⁸ law,³⁵⁵¹ and²⁵³² yet none³⁷⁶² of¹⁵³⁷ you⁵²¹⁶ keepeth⁴¹⁶⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ law?³⁵⁵¹ Why⁵¹⁰¹ go ye about²²¹² to kill⁶¹⁵ me?³¹⁶⁵

20  The³⁵⁸⁸ people³⁷⁹³ answered⁶¹¹ and²⁵³² said,²⁰³⁶ Thou hast²¹⁹² a devil:¹¹⁴⁰ who⁵¹⁰¹ goeth about²²¹² to kill⁶¹⁵ thee?⁴⁵⁷¹

21  Jesus²⁴²⁴ answered⁶¹¹ and²⁵³² said²⁰³⁶ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ I have done⁴¹⁶⁰ one¹⁵²⁰ work,²⁰⁴¹ and²⁵³² ye all³⁹⁵⁶ marvel.²²⁹⁶

22  Moses³⁴⁷⁵ therefore^{1223 5124} gave¹³²⁵ unto you⁵²¹³ circumcision;⁴⁰⁶¹ (not³⁷⁵⁶ because³⁷⁵⁴ it is²⁰⁷⁶ of¹⁵³⁷ Moses,³⁴⁷⁵ but²³⁵ of¹⁵³⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ fathers;)³⁹⁶² and²⁵³² ye on¹⁷²² the sabbath day⁴⁵²¹ circumcise⁴⁰⁵⁹ a man.⁴⁴⁴

23  If¹⁴⁸⁷ a man⁴⁴⁴ on¹⁷²² the sabbath day⁴⁵²¹ receive²⁹⁸³ circumcision,⁴⁰⁶¹ that²⁴⁴³ the³⁵⁸⁸ law³⁵⁵¹ of Moses³⁴⁷⁵ should not³³⁶¹ be broken;³⁰⁸⁹ are ye angry⁵⁵²⁰ at me,¹⁶⁹⁸ because³⁷⁵⁴ I have made⁴¹⁶⁰ a man⁴⁴⁴ every whit³⁶⁵⁰ whole⁵¹⁹⁹ on¹⁷²² the sabbath day?⁴⁵²¹

24  Judge²⁹¹⁹ not³³⁶¹ according²⁵⁹⁶ to the appearance,³⁷⁹⁹ but²³⁵ judge²⁹¹⁹ righteous¹³⁴² judgment.²⁹²⁰

25  Then³⁷⁶⁷ said³⁰⁰⁴ some⁵¹⁰⁰ of¹⁵³⁷ them of Jerusalem,²⁴¹⁵ Is²⁰⁷⁶ not³⁷⁵⁶ this³⁷⁷⁸ he, whom³⁷³⁹ they seek²²¹² to kill?⁶¹⁵

26  But,²⁵³² lo,²³⁹⁶ he speaketh²⁹⁸⁰ boldly,³⁹⁵⁴ and²⁵³² they say³⁰⁰⁴ nothing³⁷⁶² unto him.⁸⁴⁶ Do³³⁷⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ rulers⁷⁵⁸ know¹⁰⁹⁷ indeed²³⁰ that³⁷⁵⁴ this³⁷⁷⁸ is²⁰⁷⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ very²³⁰ Christ?⁵⁵⁴⁷

27  Howbeit²³⁵ we know¹⁴⁹² this man⁵¹²⁶ whence⁴¹⁵⁹ he is:²⁰⁷⁶ but¹¹⁶¹ when³⁷⁵² Christ⁵⁵⁴⁷ cometh,²⁰⁶⁴ no man³⁷⁶² knoweth¹⁰⁹⁷ whence⁴¹⁵⁹ he is.²⁰⁷⁶

28  Then³⁷⁶⁷ cried²⁸⁹⁶ Jesus²⁴²⁴ in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ temple²⁴¹¹ as he taught,^{1321 2532} saying,³⁰⁰⁴ Ye both know me,^{2504 1492} and²⁵³² ye know¹⁴⁹² whence⁴¹⁵⁹ I am:¹⁵¹⁰ and²⁵³² I am not³⁷⁵⁶ come²⁰⁶⁴ of⁵⁷⁵ myself,¹⁶⁸³ but²³⁵ he that sent³⁹⁹² me³¹⁶⁵ is²⁰⁷⁶ true,²²⁸ whom³⁷³⁹ ye⁵²¹⁰ know¹⁴⁹² not.³⁷⁵⁶

29  But¹¹⁶¹ I¹⁴⁷³ know¹⁴⁹² him:⁸⁴⁶ for³⁷⁵⁴ I am¹⁵¹⁰ from³⁸⁴⁴ him,⁸⁴⁶ and he²⁵⁴⁸ hath sent⁶⁴⁹ me.³¹⁶⁵

30  Then³⁷⁶⁷ they sought²²¹² to take⁴⁰⁸⁴ him:⁸⁴⁶ but²⁵³² no man³⁷⁶² laid¹⁹¹¹ hands⁵⁴⁹⁵ on¹⁹⁰⁹ him,⁸⁴⁶ because³⁷⁵⁴ his⁸⁴⁶ hour⁵⁶¹⁰ was not yet³⁷⁶⁸ come.²⁰⁶⁴

31  And¹¹⁶¹ many⁴¹⁸³ of¹⁵³⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ people³⁷⁹³ believed⁴¹⁰⁰ on¹⁵¹⁹ him,⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² said,³⁰⁰⁴ When³⁷⁵² Christ⁵⁵⁴⁷ cometh,²⁰⁶⁴ will he³³⁸⁵ do⁴¹⁶⁰ more⁴¹¹⁹ miracles⁴⁵⁹² than these⁵¹³⁰ which³⁷³⁹ this³⁷⁷⁸ man hath done?⁴¹⁶⁰

32  The³⁵⁸⁸ Pharisees⁵³³⁰ heard¹⁹¹ that the³⁵⁸⁸ people³⁷⁹³ murmured¹¹¹¹ such things⁵⁰²³ concerning⁴⁰¹² him;⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ Pharisees⁵³³⁰ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ chief priests⁷⁴⁹ sent⁶⁴⁹ officers⁵²⁵⁷ to²⁴⁴³ take⁴⁰⁸⁴ him.⁸⁴⁶

33  Then³⁷⁶⁷ said²⁰³⁶ Jesus²⁴²⁴ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ Yet²⁰⁸⁹ a little³³⁹⁸ while⁵⁵⁵⁰ am¹⁵¹⁰ I with³³²⁶ you,⁵²¹⁶ and²⁵³² then I go⁵²¹⁷ unto⁴³¹⁴ him that sent³⁹⁹² me.³¹⁶⁵

34  Ye shall seek²²¹² me,³¹⁶⁵ and²⁵³² shall not³⁷⁵⁶ find²¹⁴⁷ me: and²⁵³² where³⁶⁹⁹ I¹⁴⁷³ am,¹⁵¹⁰ thither ye⁵²¹⁰ cannot^{1410 3756} come.²⁰⁶⁴

35  Then³⁷⁶⁷ said²⁰³⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ Jews²⁴⁵³ among⁴³¹⁴ themselves,¹⁴³⁸ Whither⁴²²⁶ will³¹⁹⁵ he³⁷⁷⁸ go,⁴¹⁹⁸ that³⁷⁵⁴ we²²⁴⁹ shall not³⁷⁵⁶ find²¹⁴⁷ him?⁸⁴⁶ will³¹⁹⁵ he³³⁶¹ go⁴¹⁹⁸ unto¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ dispersed¹²⁹⁰ among the³⁵⁸⁸ Gentiles,¹⁶⁷² and²⁵³² teach¹³²¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ Gentiles?¹⁶⁷²

36  What⁵¹⁰¹ manner of saying³⁰⁵⁶ is²⁰⁷⁶ this³⁷⁷⁸ that³⁷³⁹ he said,²⁰³⁶ Ye shall seek²²¹² me,³¹⁶⁵ and²⁵³² shall not³⁷⁵⁶ find²¹⁴⁷ me: and²⁵³² where³⁶⁹⁹ I¹⁴⁷³ am,¹⁵¹⁰ thither ye⁵²¹⁰ cannot^{1410 3756} come?²⁰⁶⁴

37  In¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ last²⁰⁷⁸ day,²²⁵⁰ that great³¹⁷³ day of the³⁵⁸⁸ feast,¹⁸⁵⁹ Jesus²⁴²⁴ stood²⁴⁷⁶ and²⁵³² cried,²⁸⁹⁶ saying,³⁰⁰⁴ If¹⁴³⁷ any man⁵¹⁰⁰ thirst,¹³⁷² let him come²⁰⁶⁴ unto⁴³¹⁴ me,³¹⁶⁵ and²⁵³² drink.⁴⁰⁹⁵

38  He that believeth⁴¹⁰⁰ on¹⁵¹⁹ me,¹⁶⁹¹ as²⁵³¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ Scripture¹¹²⁴ hath said,²⁰³⁶ out of¹⁵³⁷ his⁸⁴⁶ belly²⁸³⁶ shall flow⁴⁴⁸² rivers⁴²¹⁵ of living²¹⁹⁸ water.⁵²⁰⁴

39  (But¹¹⁶¹ this⁵¹²⁴ spake²⁰³⁶ he of⁴⁰¹² the³⁵⁸⁸ Spirit,⁴¹⁵¹ which³⁷³⁹ they that believe⁴¹⁰⁰ on¹⁵¹⁹ him⁸⁴⁶ should³¹⁹⁵ receive:²⁹⁸³ for¹⁰⁶³ the Holy⁴⁰ Ghost⁴¹⁵¹ was²²⁵⁸ not yet³⁷⁶⁸ given; because³⁷⁵⁴ that Jesus²⁴²⁴ was not yet³⁷⁶⁴ glorified.)¹³⁹²

40  Many⁴¹⁸³ of¹⁵³⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ people³⁷⁹³ therefore,³⁷⁶⁷ when they heard¹⁹¹ this saying,³⁰⁵⁶ said,³⁰⁰⁴ Of a truth²³⁰ this³⁷⁷⁸ is²⁰⁷⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ Prophet.⁴³⁹⁶

41  Others²⁴³ said,³⁰⁰⁴ This³⁷⁷⁸ is²⁰⁷⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ Christ.⁵⁵⁴⁷ But¹¹⁶¹ some²⁴³ said,³⁰⁰⁴ Shall^{1063 3361} Christ⁵⁵⁴⁷ come²⁰⁶⁴ out of¹⁵³⁷ Galilee?¹⁰⁵⁶

42  Hath not³⁷⁸⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ Scripture¹¹²⁴ said,²⁰³⁶ That³⁷⁵⁴ Christ⁵⁵⁴⁷ cometh²⁰⁶⁴ of¹⁵³⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ seed⁴⁶⁹⁰ of David,¹¹³⁸ and²⁵³² out of⁵⁷⁵ the³⁵⁸⁸ town²⁹⁶⁸ of Bethlehem,⁹⁶⁵ where³⁶⁹⁹ David¹¹³⁸ was?²²⁵⁸

43  So³⁷⁶⁷ there was¹⁰⁹⁶ a division⁴⁹⁷⁸ among¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ people³⁷⁹³ because¹²²³ of him.⁸⁴⁶

44  And¹¹⁶¹ some⁵¹⁰⁰ of¹⁵³⁷ them⁸⁴⁶ would²³⁰⁹ have taken⁴⁰⁸⁴ him;⁸⁴⁶ but²³⁵ no man³⁷⁶² laid¹⁹¹¹ hands⁵⁴⁹⁵ on¹⁹⁰⁹ him.⁸⁴⁶

45  Then³⁷⁶⁷ came²⁰⁶⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ officers⁵²⁵⁷ to⁴³¹⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ chief priests⁷⁴⁹ and²⁵³² Pharisees;⁵³³⁰ and²⁵³² they¹⁵⁶⁵ said²⁰³⁶ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ Why¹³⁰² have ye not³⁷⁵⁶ brought⁷¹ him?⁸⁴⁶

46  The³⁵⁸⁸ officers⁵²⁵⁷ answered,⁶¹¹ Never³⁷⁶³ man⁴⁴⁴ spake²⁹⁸⁰ like⁵⁶¹³ this³⁷⁷⁸ man.⁴⁴⁴

47  Then³⁷⁶⁷ answered⁶¹¹ them⁸⁴⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ Pharisees,⁵³³⁰ Are³³⁶¹ ye⁵²¹⁰ also²⁵³² deceived?⁴¹⁰⁵

48  Have any³³⁸⁷ of¹⁵³⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ rulers⁷⁵⁸ or²²²⁸ of¹⁵³⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ Pharisees⁵³³⁰ believed⁴¹⁰⁰ on¹⁵¹⁹ him?⁸⁴⁶

49  But²³⁵ this³⁷⁷⁸ people³⁷⁹³ who knoweth¹⁰⁹⁷ not³³⁶¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ law³⁵⁵¹ are¹⁵²⁶ cursed.¹⁹⁴⁴

50  Nicodemus³⁵³⁰ saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto⁴³¹⁴ them,⁸⁴⁶ (he that came²⁰⁶⁴ to⁴³¹⁴ Jesus⁸⁴⁶ by night,³⁵⁷¹ being⁵⁶⁰⁷ one¹⁵²⁰ of¹⁵³⁷ them,)⁸⁴⁶

1  ¹¹⁶¹ Jesus²⁴²⁴ went⁴¹⁹⁸ unto¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ mount³⁷³⁵ of Olives.¹⁶³⁶

2  And¹¹⁶¹ early in the morning³⁷²² he came³⁸⁵⁴ again³⁸²⁵ into¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ temple,²⁴¹¹ and²⁵³² all³⁹⁵⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ people²⁹⁹² came²⁰⁶⁴ unto⁴³¹⁴ him;⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² he sat down,²⁵²³ and taught¹³²¹ them.⁸⁴⁶

3  And¹¹⁶¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ scribes¹¹²² and²⁵³² Pharisees⁵³³⁰ brought⁷¹ unto⁴³¹⁴ him⁸⁴⁶ a woman¹¹³⁵ taken²⁶³⁸ in¹⁷²² adultery;³⁴³⁰ and²⁵³² when they had set²⁴⁷⁶ her⁸⁴⁶ in¹⁷²² the midst,³³¹⁹

4  They say³⁰⁰⁴ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Master,¹³²⁰ this³⁷⁷⁸ woman¹¹³⁵ was taken²⁶³⁸ in adultery,³⁴³¹ in the very act.¹⁸⁸⁸

5  Now¹¹⁶¹ Moses³⁴⁷⁵ in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ law³⁵⁵¹ commanded¹⁷⁸¹ us,²²⁵⁴ that such⁵¹⁰⁸ should be stoned:³⁰³⁶ but³⁷⁶⁷ what⁵¹⁰¹ sayest³⁰⁰⁴ thou?⁴⁷⁷¹

6  ¹¹⁶¹ This⁵¹²⁴ they said,³⁰⁰⁴ tempting³⁹⁸⁵ him,⁸⁴⁶ that²⁴⁴³ they might have²¹⁹² to accuse²⁷²³ him.⁸⁴⁶ But¹¹⁶¹ Jesus²⁴²⁴ stooped²⁹⁵⁵ down,²⁷³⁶ and with his finger¹¹⁴⁷ wrote¹¹²⁵ on¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ ground,¹⁰⁹³ as though he heard⁴³⁶⁴ them not.³³⁶¹

7  So¹¹⁶¹ when⁵⁶¹³ they continued¹⁹⁶¹ asking²⁰⁶⁵ him,⁸⁴⁶ he lifted up³⁵² himself, and said²⁰³⁶ unto⁴³¹⁴ them,⁸⁴⁶ He that is without sin³⁶¹ among you,⁵²¹⁶ let him first⁴⁴¹³ cast⁹⁰⁶ a stone³⁰³⁷ at¹⁹⁰⁹ her.⁸⁴⁶

8  And²⁵³² again³⁸²⁵ he stooped²⁹⁵⁵ down,²⁷³⁶ and wrote¹¹²⁵ on¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ ground.¹⁰⁹³

9  And¹¹⁶¹ they which heard¹⁹¹ it, being²⁵³² convicted¹⁶⁵¹ by⁵²⁵⁹ their own conscience,⁴⁸⁹³ went out¹⁸³¹ one by one,¹⁵²⁷ beginning⁷⁵⁶ at⁵⁷⁵ the³⁵⁸⁸ eldest,⁴²⁴⁵ even unto²¹⁹³ the³⁵⁸⁸ last:²⁰⁷⁸ and²⁵³² Jesus²⁴²⁴ was left²⁶⁴¹ alone,³⁴⁴¹ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ woman¹¹³⁵ standing²⁴⁷⁶ in¹⁷²² the midst.³³¹⁹

10  When¹¹⁶¹ Jesus²⁴²⁴ had lifted up³⁵² himself, and²⁵³² saw²³⁰⁰ none³³⁶⁷ but⁴¹³³ the³⁵⁸⁸ woman,¹¹³⁵ he said²⁰³⁶ unto her,⁸⁴⁶ Woman,¹¹³⁵ where⁴²²⁶ are¹⁵²⁶ those¹⁵⁶⁵ thine⁴⁶⁷⁵ accusers?²⁷²⁵ hath no man³⁷⁶² condemned²⁶³² thee?⁴⁵⁷¹

11  ¹¹⁶¹ She³⁵⁸⁸ said,²⁰³⁶ No man,³⁷⁶² Lord.²⁹⁶² And¹¹⁶¹ Jesus²⁴²⁴ said²⁰³⁶ unto her,⁸⁴⁶ Neither³⁷⁶¹ do I¹⁴⁷³ condemn²⁶³² thee:⁴⁵⁷¹ go,⁴¹⁹⁸ and²⁵³² sin²⁶⁴ no more.³³⁷¹

12  Then³⁷⁶⁷ spake²⁹⁸⁰ Jesus²⁴²⁴ again³⁸²⁵ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ saying,³⁰⁰⁴ I¹⁴⁷³ am¹⁵¹⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ light⁵⁴⁵⁷ of the³⁵⁸⁸ world:²⁸⁸⁹ he that followeth¹⁹⁰ me¹⁶⁹⁸ shall not³³⁶⁴ walk⁴⁰⁴³ in¹⁷²² darkness,⁴⁶⁵³ but²³⁵ shall have²¹⁹² the³⁵⁸⁸ light⁵⁴⁵⁷ of life.²²²²

13  The³⁵⁸⁸ Pharisees⁵³³⁰ therefore³⁷⁶⁷ said²⁰³⁶ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Thou⁴⁷⁷¹ bearest record³¹⁴⁰ of⁴⁰¹² thyself;⁴⁵⁷² thy⁴⁶⁷⁵ record³¹⁴¹ is²⁰⁷⁶ not³⁷⁵⁶ true.²²⁷

14  Jesus²⁴²⁴ answered⁶¹¹ and²⁵³² said²⁰³⁶ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ Though²⁵⁷⁹ I¹⁴⁷³ bear record³¹⁴⁰ of⁴⁰¹² myself,¹⁶⁸³ yet my³⁴⁵⁰ record³¹⁴¹ is²⁰⁷⁶ true:²²⁷ for³⁷⁵⁴ I know¹⁴⁹² whence⁴¹⁵⁹ I came,²⁰⁶⁴ and²⁵³² whither⁴²²⁶ I go;⁵²¹⁷ but¹¹⁶¹ ye⁵²¹⁰ cannot tell^{1492 3756} whence⁴¹⁵⁹ I come,²⁰⁶⁴ and²⁵³² whither⁴²²⁶ I go.⁵²¹⁷

15  Ye⁵²¹⁰ judge²⁹¹⁹ after²⁵⁹⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ flesh;⁴⁵⁶¹ I¹⁴⁷³ judge²⁹¹⁹ no man.³⁷⁶²

16  And²⁵³² yet¹¹⁶¹ if¹⁴³⁷ I¹⁴⁷³ judge,²⁹¹⁹ my¹⁶⁹⁹ judgment²⁹²⁰ is²⁰⁷⁶ true:²²⁷ for³⁷⁵⁴ I am¹⁵¹⁰ not³⁷⁵⁶ alone,³⁴⁴¹ but²³⁵ I¹⁴⁷³ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ Father³⁹⁶² that sent³⁹⁹² me.³¹⁶⁵

17  It is²⁵³² also¹¹⁶¹ written¹¹²⁵ in¹⁷²² your⁵²¹² law,³⁵⁵¹ that³⁷⁵⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ testimony³¹⁴¹ of two¹⁴¹⁷ men⁴⁴⁴ is²⁰⁷⁶ true.²²⁷

18  I¹⁴⁷³ am¹⁵¹⁰ one that bear witness³¹⁴⁰ of⁴⁰¹² myself,¹⁶⁸³ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ Father³⁹⁶² that³⁵⁸⁸ sent³⁹⁹² me³¹⁶⁵ beareth witness³¹⁴⁰ of⁴⁰¹² me.¹⁷⁰⁰

19  Then³⁷⁶⁷ said³⁰⁰⁴ they unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Where⁴²²⁶ is²⁰⁷⁶ thy⁴⁶⁷⁵ Father?³⁹⁶² Jesus²⁴²⁴ answered,⁶¹¹ Ye neither³⁷⁷⁷ know¹⁴⁹² me,¹⁶⁹¹ nor³⁷⁷⁷ my³⁴⁵⁰ Father:³⁹⁶² if¹⁴⁸⁷ ye had known¹⁴⁹² me,¹⁶⁹¹ ye should have known^{1492 302} my³⁴⁵⁰ Father³⁹⁶² also.²⁵³²

20  These⁵⁰²³ words⁴⁴⁸⁷ spake²⁹⁸⁰ Jesus²⁴²⁴ in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ treasury,¹⁰⁴⁹ as he taught¹³²¹ in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ temple:²⁴¹¹ and²⁵³² no man³⁷⁶² laid hands on⁴⁰⁸⁴ him;⁸⁴⁶ for³⁷⁵⁴ his⁸⁴⁶ hour⁵⁶¹⁰ was not yet³⁷⁶⁸ come.²⁰⁶⁴

21  Then³⁷⁶⁷ said²⁰³⁶ Jesus²⁴²⁴ again³⁸²⁵ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ I¹⁴⁷³ go my way,⁵²¹⁷ and²⁵³² ye shall seek²²¹² me,³¹⁶⁵ and²⁵³² shall die⁵⁹⁹ in¹⁷²² your⁵²¹⁶ sins:²⁶⁶ whither³⁶⁹⁹ I¹⁴⁷³ go,⁵²¹⁷ ye⁵²¹⁰ cannot^{1410 3756} come.²⁰⁶⁴

22  Then³⁷⁶⁷ said³⁰⁰⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ Jews,²⁴⁵³ Will³³⁸⁵ he kill⁶¹⁵ himself?¹⁴³⁸ because³⁷⁵⁴ he saith,³⁰⁰⁴ Whither³⁶⁹⁹ I¹⁴⁷³ go,⁵²¹⁷ ye⁵²¹⁰ cannot^{1410 3756} come.²⁰⁶⁴

23  And²⁵³² he said²⁰³⁶ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ Ye⁵²¹⁰ are²⁰⁷⁵ from¹⁵³⁷ beneath;²⁷³⁶ I¹⁴⁷³ am¹⁵¹⁰ from¹⁵³⁷ above:⁵⁰⁷ ye⁵²¹⁰ are²⁰⁷⁵ of¹⁵³⁷ this⁵¹²⁷ world;²⁸⁸⁹ I¹⁴⁷³ am¹⁵¹⁰ not³⁷⁵⁶ of¹⁵³⁷ this⁵¹²⁷ world.²⁸⁸⁹

24  I said²⁰³⁶ therefore³⁷⁶⁷ unto you,⁵²¹³ that³⁷⁵⁴ ye shall die⁵⁹⁹ in¹⁷²² your⁵²¹⁶ sins:²⁶⁶ for¹⁰⁶³ if¹⁴³⁷ ye believe⁴¹⁰⁰ not³³⁶¹ that³⁷⁵⁴ I¹⁴⁷³ am¹⁵¹⁰ he, ye shall die⁵⁹⁹ in¹⁷²² your⁵²¹⁶ sins.²⁶⁶

25  Then³⁷⁶⁷ said³⁰⁰⁴ they unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Who⁵¹⁰¹ art¹⁴⁸⁸ thou?⁴⁷⁷¹ And²⁵³² Jesus²⁴²⁴ saith²⁰³⁶ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ Even²⁵³² the same that³⁷⁴⁸ I said²⁹⁸⁰ unto you⁵²¹³ from the³⁵⁸⁸ beginning.⁷⁴⁶

26  I have²¹⁹² many things⁴¹⁸³ to say²⁹⁸⁰ and²⁵³² to judge²⁹¹⁹ of⁴⁰¹² you:⁵²¹⁶ but²³⁵ he that sent³⁹⁹² me³¹⁶⁵ is²⁰⁷⁶ true;²²⁷ and I²⁵⁰⁴ speak³⁰⁰⁴ to¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ world²⁸⁸⁹ those things⁵⁰²³ which³⁷³⁹ I have heard¹⁹¹ of³⁸⁴⁴ him.⁸⁴⁶

27  They understood¹⁰⁹⁷ not³⁷⁵⁶ that³⁷⁵⁴ he spake³⁰⁰⁴ to them⁸⁴⁶ of the³⁵⁸⁸ Father.³⁹⁶²

28  Then³⁷⁶⁷ said²⁰³⁶ Jesus²⁴²⁴ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ When³⁷⁵² ye have lifted up⁵³¹² the³⁵⁸⁸ Son⁵²⁰⁷ of man,⁴⁴⁴ then⁵¹¹⁹ shall ye know¹⁰⁹⁷ that³⁷⁵⁴ I¹⁴⁷³ am¹⁵¹⁰ he, and²⁵³² that I do⁴¹⁶⁰ nothing³⁷⁶² of⁵⁷⁵ myself;¹⁶⁸³ but²³⁵ as²⁵³¹ my³⁴⁵⁰ Father³⁹⁶² hath taught¹³²¹ me,³¹⁶⁵ I speak²⁹⁸⁰ these things.⁵⁰²³

29  And²⁵³² he that sent³⁹⁹² me³¹⁶⁵ is²⁰⁷⁶ with³³²⁶ me:¹⁷⁰⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ Father³⁹⁶² hath not³⁷⁵⁶ left⁸⁶³ me³¹⁶⁵ alone;³⁴⁴¹ for³⁷⁵⁴ I¹⁴⁷³ do⁴¹⁶⁰ always³⁸⁴² those things that please⁷⁰¹ him.⁸⁴⁶

30  As he⁸⁴⁶ spake²⁹⁸⁰ these words,⁵⁰²³ many⁴¹⁸³ believed⁴¹⁰⁰ on¹⁵¹⁹ him.⁸⁴⁶

31  Then³⁷⁶⁷ said³⁰⁰⁴ Jesus²⁴²⁴ to⁴³¹⁴ those Jews²⁴⁵³ which believed⁴¹⁰⁰ on him,⁸⁴⁶ If¹⁴³⁷ ye⁵²¹⁰ continue³³⁰⁶ in¹⁷²² my¹⁶⁹⁹ word,³⁰⁵⁶ then are²⁰⁷⁵ ye my³⁴⁵⁰ disciples³¹⁰¹ indeed;²³⁰

32  And²⁵³² ye shall know¹⁰⁹⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ truth,²²⁵ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ truth²²⁵ shall make you free.^{1659 5209}

33  They answered⁶¹¹ him,⁸⁴⁶ We be²⁰⁷⁰ Abraham's¹¹ seed,⁴⁶⁹⁰ and²⁵³² were never in bondage^{1398 4455} to any man:³⁷⁶² how⁴⁴⁵⁹ sayest³⁰⁰⁴ thou,⁴⁷⁷¹ Ye shall be made¹⁰⁹⁶ free?¹⁶⁵⁸

34  Jesus²⁴²⁴ answered⁶¹¹ them,⁸⁴⁶ Verily,²⁸¹ verily,²⁸¹ I say³⁰⁰⁴ unto you,⁵²¹³ Whosoever³⁹⁵⁶ committeth⁴¹⁶⁰ sin²⁶⁶ is²⁰⁷⁶ the servant¹⁴⁰¹ of sin.²⁶⁶

35  And¹¹⁶¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ servant¹⁴⁰¹ abideth³³⁰⁶ not³⁷⁵⁶ in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ house³⁶¹⁴ forever:^{1519 165} but the³⁵⁸⁸ Son⁵²⁰⁷ abideth³³⁰⁶ ever.^{1519 165}

36  If¹⁴³⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ Son⁵²⁰⁷ therefore³⁷⁶⁷ shall make you free,^{1659 5209} ye shall be²⁰⁷¹ free¹⁶⁵⁸ indeed.³⁶⁸⁹

37  I know¹⁴⁹² that³⁷⁵⁴ ye are²⁰⁷⁵ Abraham's¹¹ seed;⁴⁶⁹⁰ but²³⁵ ye seek²²¹² to kill⁶¹⁵ me,³¹⁶⁵ because³⁷⁵⁴ my¹⁶⁹⁹ word³⁰⁵⁶ hath no place^{5562 3756} in¹⁷²² you.⁵²¹³

38  I¹⁴⁷³ speak²⁹⁸⁰ that which³⁷³⁹ I have seen³⁷⁰⁸ with³⁸⁴⁴ my³⁴⁵⁰ Father:³⁹⁶² and²⁵³² ye⁵²¹⁰ do⁴¹⁶⁰ that which³⁷³⁹ ye have³⁷⁶⁷ seen³⁷⁰⁸ with³⁸⁴⁴ your⁵²¹⁶ father.³⁹⁶²

39  They answered⁶¹¹ and²⁵³² said²⁰³⁶ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Abraham¹¹ is²⁰⁷⁶ our²²⁵⁷ father.³⁹⁶² Jesus²⁴²⁴ saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ If¹⁴⁸⁷ ye were²²⁵⁸ Abraham's¹¹ children,⁵⁰⁴³ ye would do^{4160 302} the³⁵⁸⁸ works²⁰⁴¹ of Abraham.¹¹

40  But¹¹⁶¹ now³⁵⁶⁸ ye seek²²¹² to kill⁶¹⁵ me,³¹⁶⁵ a man⁴⁴⁴ that³⁷³⁹ hath told²⁹⁸⁰ you⁵²¹³ the³⁵⁸⁸ truth,²²⁵ which³⁷³⁹ I have heard¹⁹¹ of³⁸⁴⁴ God:²³¹⁶ this⁵¹²⁴ did⁴¹⁶⁰ not³⁷⁵⁶ Abraham.¹¹

41  Ye⁵²¹⁰ do⁴¹⁶⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ deeds²⁰⁴¹ of your⁵²¹⁶ father. Then^{3962 3767} said²⁰³⁶ they to him,⁸⁴⁶ We²²⁴⁹ be not³⁷⁵⁶ born¹⁰⁸⁰ of¹⁵³⁷ fornication;⁴²⁰² we have²¹⁹² one¹⁵²⁰ Father,³⁹⁶² even God.²³¹⁶

42  Jesus²⁴²⁴ said²⁰³⁶ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ If¹⁴⁸⁷ God²³¹⁶ were²²⁵⁸ your⁵²¹⁶ Father,³⁹⁶² ye would love^{25 302} me:¹⁶⁹¹ for¹⁰⁶³ I¹⁴⁷³ proceeded forth¹⁸³¹ and²⁵³² came²²⁴⁰ from¹⁵³⁷ God;^{2316 1063} neither³⁷⁶¹ came²⁰⁶⁴ I of⁵⁷⁵ myself,¹⁶⁸³ but²³⁵ he¹⁵⁶⁵ sent⁶⁴⁹ me.³¹⁶⁵

43  Why¹³⁰² do ye not³⁷⁵⁶ understand¹⁰⁹⁷ my¹⁶⁹⁹ speech?²⁹⁸¹ even because³⁷⁵⁴ ye cannot^{1410 3756} hear¹⁹¹ my¹⁶⁹⁹ word.³⁰⁵⁶

44  Ye⁵²¹⁰ are²⁰⁷⁵ of¹⁵³⁷ your father³⁹⁶² the³⁵⁸⁸ devil,¹²²⁸ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ lusts¹⁹³⁹ of your⁵²¹⁶ father³⁹⁶² ye will²³⁰⁹ do.⁴¹⁶⁰ He¹⁵⁶⁵ was²²⁵⁸ a murderer⁴⁴³ from⁵⁷⁵ the beginning,⁷⁴⁶ and²⁵³² abode²⁴⁷⁶ not³⁷⁵⁶ in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ truth,²²⁵ because³⁷⁵⁴ there is²⁰⁷⁶ no³⁷⁵⁶ truth²²⁵ in¹⁷²² him.⁸⁴⁶ When³⁷⁵² he speaketh²⁹⁸⁰ a lie,⁵⁵⁷⁹ he speaketh²⁹⁸⁰ of¹⁵³⁷ his own:²³⁹⁸ for³⁷⁵⁴ he is²⁰⁷⁶ a liar,⁵⁵⁸³ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ father³⁹⁶² of it.⁸⁴⁶

45  And¹¹⁶¹ because³⁷⁵⁴ I¹⁴⁷³ tell³⁰⁰⁴ you the³⁵⁸⁸ truth,²²⁵ ye believe⁴¹⁰⁰ me³⁴²⁷ not.³⁷⁵⁶

46  Which⁵¹⁰¹ of¹⁵³⁷ you⁵²¹⁶ convinceth¹⁶⁵¹ me³¹⁶⁵ of⁴⁰¹² sin?²⁶⁶ And¹¹⁶¹ if¹⁴⁸⁷ I say³⁰⁰⁴ the truth,²²⁵ why¹³⁰² do ye⁵²¹⁰ not³⁷⁵⁶ believe⁴¹⁰⁰ me?³⁴²⁷

47  He that is⁵⁶⁰⁷ of¹⁵³⁷ God²³¹⁶ heareth¹⁹¹ God's²³¹⁶ words:⁴⁴⁸⁷ ye⁵²¹⁰ therefore^{1223 5124} hear¹⁹¹ them not,³⁷⁵⁶ because³⁷⁵⁴ ye are²⁰⁷⁵ not³⁷⁵⁶ of¹⁵³⁷ God.²³¹⁶

48  Then³⁷⁶⁷ answered⁶¹¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ Jews,²⁴⁵³ and²⁵³² said²⁰³⁶ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Say³⁰⁰⁴ we²²⁴⁹ not³⁷⁵⁶ well²⁵⁷³ that³⁷⁵⁴ thou⁴⁷⁷¹ art¹⁴⁸⁸ a Samaritan,⁴⁵⁴¹ and²⁵³² hast²¹⁹² a devil?¹¹⁴⁰

49  Jesus²⁴²⁴ answered,⁶¹¹ I¹⁴⁷³ have²¹⁹² not³⁷⁵⁶ a devil;¹¹⁴⁰ but²³⁵ I honor⁵⁰⁹¹ my³⁴⁵⁰ Father,³⁹⁶² and²⁵³² ye⁵²¹⁰ do dishonor⁸¹⁸ me.³¹⁶⁵

50  And¹¹⁶¹ I¹⁴⁷³ seek²²¹² not³⁷⁵⁶ mine own³⁴⁵⁰ glory:¹³⁹¹ there is²⁰⁷⁶ one that seeketh²²¹² and²⁵³² judgeth.²⁹¹⁹

51  Verily,²⁸¹ verily,²⁸¹ I say³⁰⁰⁴ unto you,⁵²¹³ If¹⁴³⁷ a man⁵¹⁰⁰ keep⁵⁰⁸³ my¹⁶⁹⁹ saying,³⁰⁵⁶ he shall never^{3364 1519 165} see²³³⁴ death.²²⁸⁸

52  Then³⁷⁶⁷ said²⁰³⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ Jews²⁴⁵³ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Now³⁵⁶⁸ we know¹⁰⁹⁷ that³⁷⁵⁴ thou hast²¹⁹² a devil.¹¹⁴⁰ Abraham¹¹ is dead,⁵⁹⁹ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ prophets;⁴³⁹⁶ and²⁵³² thou⁴⁷⁷¹ sayest,³⁰⁰⁴ If¹⁴³⁷ a man⁵¹⁰⁰ keep⁵⁰⁸³ my³⁴⁵⁰ saying,³⁰⁵⁶ he shall never^{3364 1519 165} taste¹⁰⁸⁹ of death.²²⁸⁸

53  Art^{1488 3361} thou⁴⁷⁷¹ greater³¹⁸⁷ than our²²⁵⁷ father³⁹⁶² Abraham,¹¹ which³⁷⁴⁸ is dead?⁵⁹⁹ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ prophets⁴³⁹⁶ are dead:⁵⁹⁹ whom⁵¹⁰¹ makest⁴¹⁶⁰ thou⁴⁷⁷¹ thyself?⁴⁵⁷²

54  Jesus²⁴²⁴ answered,⁶¹¹ If¹⁴³⁷ I¹⁴⁷³ honor¹³⁹² myself,¹⁶⁸³ my³⁴⁵⁰ honor¹³⁹¹ is²⁰⁷⁶ nothing:³⁷⁶² it is²⁰⁷⁶ my³⁴⁵⁰ Father³⁹⁶² that honoreth¹³⁹² me;³¹⁶⁵ of whom³⁷³⁹ ye⁵²¹⁰ say,³⁰⁰⁴ that³⁷⁵⁴ he is²⁰⁷⁶ your⁵²¹⁶ God:²³¹⁶

55  Yet²⁵³² ye have not³⁷⁵⁶ known¹⁰⁹⁷ him;⁸⁴⁶ but¹¹⁶¹ I know¹⁴⁹² him:⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² if¹⁴³⁷ I should say,²⁰³⁶ I³⁷⁵⁴ know¹⁴⁹² him⁸⁴⁶ not,³⁷⁵⁶ I shall be²⁰⁷¹ a liar⁵⁵⁸³ like unto³⁶⁶⁴ you:⁵²¹⁶ but²³⁵ I know¹⁴⁹² him,⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² keep⁵⁰⁸³ his⁸⁴⁶ saying.³⁰⁵⁶

56  Your⁵²¹⁶ father³⁹⁶² Abraham¹¹ rejoiced²¹ to²⁴⁴³ see¹⁴⁹² my¹⁶⁹⁹ day:²²⁵⁰ and²⁵³² he saw¹⁴⁹² it, and²⁵³² was glad.⁵⁴⁶³

57  Then³⁷⁶⁷ said²⁰³⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ Jews²⁴⁵³ unto⁴³¹⁴ him,⁸⁴⁶ Thou art²¹⁹² not yet³⁷⁶⁸ fifty⁴⁰⁰⁴ years old,²⁰⁹⁴ and²⁵³² hast thou seen³⁷⁰⁸ Abraham?¹¹

58  Jesus²⁴²⁴ said²⁰³⁶ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ Verily,²⁸¹ verily,²⁸¹ I say³⁰⁰⁴ unto you,⁵²¹³ Before⁴²⁵⁰ Abraham¹¹ was,¹⁰⁹⁶ I¹⁴⁷³ am.¹⁵¹⁰

59  Then³⁷⁶⁷ took they up¹⁴² stones³⁰³⁷ to²⁴⁴³ cast⁹⁰⁶ at¹⁹⁰⁹ him:⁸⁴⁶ but¹¹⁶¹ Jesus²⁴²⁴ hid²⁹²⁸ himself, and²⁵³² went¹⁸³¹ out of¹⁵³⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ temple,²⁴¹¹ going¹³³⁰ through¹²²³ the midst³³¹⁹ of them,⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² so³⁷⁷⁹ passed by.³⁸⁵⁵

1  And²⁵³² as Jesus passed by,³⁸⁵⁵ he saw¹⁴⁹² a man⁴⁴⁴ which was blind⁵¹⁸⁵ from¹⁵³⁷ his birth.¹⁰⁷⁹

2  And²⁵³² his⁸⁴⁶ disciples³¹⁰¹ asked²⁰⁶⁵ him,⁸⁴⁶ saying,³⁰⁰⁴ Master,⁴⁴⁶¹ who⁵¹⁰¹ did sin,²⁶⁴ this man,³⁷⁷⁸ or²²²⁸ his⁸⁴⁶ parents,¹¹¹⁸ that²⁴⁴³ he was born¹⁰⁸⁰ blind⁵¹⁸⁵

3  Jesus²⁴²⁴ answered,⁶¹¹ Neither³⁷⁷⁷ hath this man³⁷⁷⁸ sinned,²⁶⁴ nor³⁷⁷⁷ his⁸⁴⁶ parents:¹¹¹⁸ but²³⁵ that²⁴⁴³ the³⁵⁸⁸ works²⁰⁴¹ of God²³¹⁶ should be made manifest⁵³¹⁹ in¹⁷²² him.⁸⁴⁶

4  I¹⁶⁹¹ must¹¹⁶³ work²⁰³⁸ the³⁵⁸⁸ works²⁰⁴¹ of him that sent³⁹⁹² me,³¹⁶⁵ while²¹⁹³ it is²⁰⁷⁶ day:²²⁵⁰ the night³⁵⁷¹ cometh,²⁰⁶⁴ when³⁷⁵³ no man³⁷⁶² can¹⁴¹⁰ work.²⁰³⁸

5  As long as³⁷⁵² I am⁵⁶⁰⁰ in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ world,²⁸⁸⁹ I am¹⁵¹⁰ the light⁵⁴⁵⁷ of the³⁵⁸⁸ world.²⁸⁸⁹

6  When he had thus⁵⁰²³ spoken,²⁰³⁶ he spat⁴⁴²⁹ on the ground,⁵⁴⁷⁶ and²⁵³² made⁴¹⁶⁰ clay⁴⁰⁸¹ of¹⁵³⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ spittle,⁴⁴²⁷ and²⁵³² he anointed²⁰²⁵ the³⁵⁸⁸ eyes³⁷⁸⁸ of the³⁵⁸⁸ blind man⁵¹⁸⁵ with the³⁵⁸⁸ clay,⁴⁰⁸¹

7  And²⁵³² said²⁰³⁶ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Go,⁵²¹⁷ wash³⁵³⁸ in¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ pool²⁸⁶¹ of Siloam,⁴⁶¹¹ (which³⁷³⁹ is by interpretation,²⁰⁵⁹ Sent.)⁶⁴⁹ He went his way⁵⁶⁵ therefore,³⁷⁶⁷ and²⁵³² washed,³⁵³⁸ and²⁵³² came²⁰⁶⁴ seeing.⁹⁹¹

8  The³⁵⁸⁸ neighbors¹⁰⁶⁹ therefore,³⁷⁶⁷ and²⁵³² they which before⁴³⁸⁶ had seen²³³⁴ him⁸⁴⁶ that³⁷⁵⁴ he was²²⁵⁸ blind,⁵¹⁸⁵ said,³⁰⁰⁴ Is²⁰⁷⁶ not³⁷⁵⁶ this³⁷⁷⁸ he that sat²⁵²¹ and²⁵³² begged?⁴³¹⁹

9  Some²⁴³ said,³⁰⁰⁴ This³⁷⁷⁸ is²⁰⁷⁶ he:¹¹⁶¹ others²⁴³ said, He is²⁰⁷⁶ like³⁶⁶⁴ him:⁸⁴⁶ but he¹⁵⁶⁵ said,³⁰⁰⁴ I¹⁴⁷³ am¹⁵¹⁰ he.

10  Therefore³⁷⁶⁷ said³⁰⁰⁴ they unto him,⁸⁴⁶ How⁴⁴⁵⁹ were thine⁴⁶⁷⁵ eyes³⁷⁸⁸ opened?⁴⁵⁵

11  He¹⁵⁶⁵ answered⁶¹¹ and²⁵³² said,²⁰³⁶ A man⁴⁴⁴ that is called³⁰⁰⁴ Jesus²⁴²⁴ made⁴¹⁶⁰ clay,⁴⁰⁸¹ and²⁵³² anointed²⁰²⁵ mine³⁴⁵⁰ eyes,³⁷⁸⁸ and²⁵³² said²⁰³⁶ unto me,³⁴²⁷ Go⁵²¹⁷ to¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ pool²⁸⁶¹ of Siloam,⁴⁶¹¹ and²⁵³² wash:³⁵³⁸ and¹¹⁶¹ I went⁵⁶⁵ and²⁵³² washed,³⁵³⁸ and²⁵³² I received sight.³⁰⁸

13  They brought⁷¹ to⁴³¹⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ Pharisees⁵³³⁰ him⁸⁴⁶ that aforetime⁴²¹⁸ was blind.⁵¹⁸⁵

14  And¹¹⁶¹ it was²²⁵⁸ the sabbath day⁴⁵²¹ when³⁷⁵³ Jesus²⁴²⁴ made⁴¹⁶⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ clay,⁴⁰⁸¹ and²⁵³² opened⁴⁵⁵ his⁸⁴⁶ eyes.³⁷⁸⁸

15  Then³⁷⁶⁷ again³⁸²⁵ the³⁵⁸⁸ Pharisees⁵³³⁰ also²⁵³² asked²⁰⁶⁵ him⁸⁴⁶ how⁴⁴⁵⁹ he had received his sight.^{308 1161} He³⁵⁸⁸ said²⁰³⁶ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ He put²⁰⁰⁷ clay⁴⁰⁸¹ upon¹⁹⁰⁹ mine³⁴⁵⁰ eyes,³⁷⁸⁸ and²⁵³² I washed,³⁵³⁸ and²⁵³² do see.⁹⁹¹

16  Therefore³⁷⁶⁷ said³⁰⁰⁴ some⁵¹⁰⁰ of¹⁵³⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ Pharisees,⁵³³⁰ This³⁷⁷⁸ man⁴⁴⁴ is²⁰⁷⁶ not³⁷⁵⁶ of³⁸⁴⁴ God,²³¹⁶ because³⁷⁵⁴ he keepeth⁵⁰⁸³ not³⁷⁵⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ sabbath day.⁴⁵²¹ Others²⁴³ said,³⁰⁰⁴ How⁴⁴⁵⁹ can¹⁴¹⁰ a man⁴⁴⁴ that is a sinner²⁶⁸ do⁴¹⁶⁰ such⁵¹⁰⁸ miracles?⁴⁵⁹² And²⁵³² there was²²⁵⁸ a division⁴⁹⁷⁸ among¹⁷²² them.⁸⁴⁶

17  They say³⁰⁰⁴ unto the³⁵⁸⁸ blind man⁵¹⁸⁵ again,³⁸²⁵ What⁵¹⁰¹ sayest³⁰⁰⁴ thou⁴⁷⁷¹ of⁴⁰¹² him,⁸⁴⁶ that³⁷⁵⁴ he hath opened⁴⁵⁵ thine⁴⁶⁷⁵ eyes?^{3788 1161} He³⁵⁸⁸ said,²⁰³⁶ He is²⁰⁷⁶ a prophet.⁴³⁹⁶

18  But³⁷⁶⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ Jews²⁴⁵³ did not³⁷⁵⁶ believe⁴¹⁰⁰ concerning⁴⁰¹² him,⁸⁴⁶ that³⁷⁵⁴ he had been²²⁵⁸ blind,⁵¹⁸⁵ and²⁵³² received his sight,³⁰⁸ until^{2193 3755} they called⁵⁴⁵⁵ the³⁵⁸⁸ parents¹¹¹⁸ of him⁸⁴⁶ that had received his sight.³⁰⁸

19  And²⁵³² they asked²⁰⁶⁵ them,⁸⁴⁶ saying,³⁰⁰⁴ Is²⁰⁷⁶ this³⁷⁷⁸ your⁵²¹⁶ son,⁵²⁰⁷ who³⁷³⁹ ye⁵²¹⁰ say³⁰⁰⁴ was³⁷⁵⁴ born¹⁰⁸⁰ blind?⁵¹⁸⁵ how⁴⁴⁵⁹ then³⁷⁶⁷ doth he now⁷³⁷ see?⁹⁹¹

20  His⁸⁴⁶ parents¹¹¹⁸ answered⁶¹¹ them⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² said,²⁰³⁶ We know¹⁴⁹² that³⁷⁵⁴ this³⁷⁷⁸ is²⁰⁷⁶ our²²⁵⁷ son,⁵²⁰⁷ and²⁵³² that³⁷⁵⁴ he was born¹⁰⁸⁰ blind:⁵¹⁸⁵

21  But¹¹⁶¹ by what means⁴⁴⁵⁹ he now³⁵⁶⁸ seeth,⁹⁹¹ we know¹⁴⁹² not;³⁷⁵⁶ or²²²⁸ who⁵¹⁰¹ hath opened⁴⁵⁵ his⁸⁴⁶ eyes,³⁷⁸⁸ we²²⁴⁹ know¹⁴⁹² not:³⁷⁵⁶ he⁸⁴⁶ is of age;^{2192 2244} ask²⁰⁶⁵ him:⁸⁴⁶ he⁸⁴⁶ shall speak²⁹⁸⁰ for⁴⁰¹² himself.⁸⁴⁸

22  These⁵⁰²³ words spake²⁰³⁶ his⁸⁴⁶ parents,¹¹¹⁸ because³⁷⁵⁴ they feared⁵³⁹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ Jews:²⁴⁵³ for¹⁰⁶³ the³⁵⁸⁸ Jews²⁴⁵³ had agreed⁴⁹³⁴ already,²²³⁵ that²⁴⁴³ if¹⁴³⁷ any man⁵¹⁰⁰ did confess³⁶⁷⁰ that he⁸⁴⁶ was Christ,⁵⁵⁴⁷ he should be¹⁰⁹⁶ put out of the synagogue.⁶⁵⁶

23  Therefore^{1223 5124} said²⁰³⁶ his⁸⁴⁶ parents,¹¹¹⁸ He is of age;^{2192 2244} ask²⁰⁶⁵ him.⁸⁴⁶

24  Then³⁷⁶⁷ again^{1537 1208} called⁵⁴⁵⁵ they the³⁵⁸⁸ man⁴⁴⁴ that³⁷³⁹ was²²⁵⁸ blind,⁵¹⁸⁵ and²⁵³² said²⁰³⁶ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Give¹³²⁵ God²³¹⁶ the praise:¹³⁹¹ we²²⁴⁹ know¹⁴⁹² that³⁷⁵⁴ this³⁷⁷⁸ man⁴⁴⁴ is²⁰⁷⁶ a sinner.²⁶⁸

25  He¹⁵⁶⁵ answered^{611 3767} and²⁵³² said,²⁰³⁶ Whether¹⁴⁸⁷ he be²⁰⁷⁶ a sinner²⁶⁸ or no, I know¹⁴⁹² not:³⁷⁵⁶ one thing¹⁵²⁰ I know,¹⁴⁹² that,³⁷⁵⁴ whereas I was⁵⁶⁰⁷ blind,⁵¹⁸⁵ now⁷³⁷ I see.⁹⁹¹

26  Then¹¹⁶¹ said²⁰³⁶ they to him⁸⁴⁶ again,³⁸²⁵ What⁵¹⁰¹ did⁴¹⁶⁰ he to thee?⁴⁶⁷¹ how⁴⁴⁵⁹ opened⁴⁵⁵ he thine⁴⁶⁷⁵ eyes?³⁷⁸⁸

27  He answered⁶¹¹ them,⁸⁴⁶ I have told²⁰³⁶ you⁵²¹³ already,²²³⁵ and²⁵³² ye did not³⁷⁵⁶ hear:¹⁹¹ wherefore⁵¹⁰¹ would²³⁰⁹ ye hear¹⁹¹ it again?³⁸²⁵ will^{2309 3361} ye⁵²¹⁰ also²⁵³² be¹⁰⁹⁶ his⁸⁴⁶ disciples?³¹⁰¹

28  Then³⁷⁶⁷ they reviled³⁰⁵⁸ him,⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² said,²⁰³⁶ Thou⁴⁷⁷¹ art¹⁴⁸⁸ his¹⁵⁶⁵ disciple;³¹⁰¹ but¹¹⁶¹ we²²⁴⁹ are²⁰⁷⁰ Moses'³⁴⁷⁵ disciples.³¹⁰¹

29  We²²⁴⁹ know¹⁴⁹² that³⁷⁵⁴ God²³¹⁶ spake²⁹⁸⁰ unto Moses:³⁴⁷⁵ as for¹¹⁶¹ this⁵¹²⁶ fellow, we know¹⁴⁹² not³⁷⁵⁶ from whence⁴¹⁵⁹ he is.²⁰⁷⁶

30  The³⁵⁸⁸ man⁴⁴⁴ answered⁶¹¹ and²⁵³² said²⁰³⁶ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ Why¹⁰⁶³ herein^{1722 5129} is²⁰⁷⁶ a marvelous thing,²²⁹⁸ that³⁷⁵⁴ ye⁵²¹⁰ know¹⁴⁹² not³⁷⁵⁶ from whence⁴¹⁵⁹ he is,²⁰⁷⁶ and²⁵³² yet he hath opened⁴⁵⁵ mine³⁴⁵⁰ eyes.³⁷⁸⁸

31  Now¹¹⁶¹ we know¹⁴⁹² that³⁷⁵⁴ God²³¹⁶ heareth¹⁹¹ not³⁷⁵⁶ sinners:²⁶⁸ but²³⁵ if¹⁴³⁷ any man⁵¹⁰⁰ be⁵⁶⁰⁰ a worshiper of God,²³¹⁸ and²⁵³² doeth⁴¹⁶⁰ his⁸⁴⁶ will,²³⁰⁷ him⁵¹²⁷ he heareth.¹⁹¹

32  Since the world began^{1537 165} was it not³⁷⁵⁶ heard¹⁹¹ that³⁷⁵⁴ any man⁵¹⁰⁰ opened⁴⁵⁵ the eyes³⁷⁸⁸ of one that was born¹⁰⁸⁰ blind.⁵¹⁸⁵

33  If¹⁵⁰⁸ this man³⁷⁷⁸ were²²⁵⁸ not³⁷⁵⁶ of³⁸⁴⁴ God,²³¹⁶ he could¹⁴¹⁰ do⁴¹⁶⁰ nothing.³⁷⁶²

34  They answered⁶¹¹ and²⁵³² said²⁰³⁶ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Thou⁴⁷⁷¹ wast altogether³⁶⁵⁰ born¹⁰⁸⁰ in¹⁷²² sins,²⁶⁶ and²⁵³² dost thou⁴⁷⁷¹ teach¹³²¹ us?²²⁴⁸ And²⁵³² they cast¹⁵⁴⁴ him⁸⁴⁶ out.¹⁸⁵⁴

35  Jesus²⁴²⁴ heard¹⁹¹ that³⁷⁵⁴ they had cast¹⁵⁴⁴ him⁸⁴⁶ out;¹⁸⁵⁴ and²⁵³² when he had found²¹⁴⁷ him,⁸⁴⁶ he said²⁰³⁶ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Dost thou⁴⁷⁷¹ believe⁴¹⁰⁰ on¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ Son⁵²⁰⁷ of God?²³¹⁶

36  He¹⁵⁶⁵ answered⁶¹¹ and²⁵³² said,²⁰³⁶ Who⁵¹⁰¹ is²⁰⁷⁶ he, Lord,²⁹⁶² that²⁴⁴³ I might believe⁴¹⁰⁰ on¹⁵¹⁹ him?⁸⁴⁶

37  And¹¹⁶¹ Jesus²⁴²⁴ said²⁰³⁶ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Thou hast both²⁵³² seen³⁷⁰⁸ him,⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² it is²⁰⁷⁶ he¹⁵⁶⁵ that talketh²⁹⁸⁰ with³³²⁶ thee.⁴⁶⁷⁵

38  And¹¹⁶¹ he³⁵⁸⁸ said,⁵³⁴⁶ Lord,²⁹⁶² I believe.⁴¹⁰⁰ And²⁵³² he worshiped⁴³⁵² him.⁸⁴⁶

39  And²⁵³² Jesus²⁴²⁴ said,²⁰³⁶ For¹⁵¹⁹ judgment²⁹¹⁷ I¹⁴⁷³ am come²⁰⁶⁴ into¹⁵¹⁹ this⁵¹²⁶ world,²⁸⁸⁹ that²⁴⁴³ they which see⁹⁹¹ not³³⁶¹ might see;⁹⁹¹ and²⁵³² that they which see⁹⁹¹ might be made¹⁰⁹⁶ blind.⁵¹⁸⁵

1  Verily,²⁸¹ verily,²⁸¹ I say³⁰⁰⁴ unto you,⁵²¹³ He that entereth¹⁵²⁵ not³³⁶¹ by¹²²³ the³⁵⁸⁸ door²³⁷⁴ into¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ sheepfold,^{833 4263} but²³⁵ climbeth up³⁰⁵ some other way,²³⁷ the same¹⁵⁶⁵ is²⁰⁷⁶ a thief²⁸¹² and²⁵³² a robber.³⁰²⁷

2  But¹¹⁶¹ he that entereth in¹⁵²⁵ by¹²²³ the³⁵⁸⁸ door²³⁷⁴ is²⁰⁷⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ shepherd⁴¹⁶⁶ of the³⁵⁸⁸ sheep.⁴²⁶³

6  This⁵⁰²⁶ parable³⁹⁴² spake²⁰³⁶ Jesus²⁴²⁴ unto them:⁸⁴⁶ but¹¹⁶¹ they¹⁵⁶⁵ understood¹⁰⁹⁷ not³⁷⁵⁶ what things⁵¹⁰¹ they were²²⁵⁸ which³⁷³⁹ he spake²⁹⁸⁰ unto them.⁸⁴⁶

7  Then³⁷⁶⁷ said²⁰³⁶ Jesus²⁴²⁴ unto them⁸⁴⁶ again,³⁸²⁵ Verily,²⁸¹ verily,²⁸¹ I say³⁰⁰⁴ unto you,^{5213 3754} I¹⁴⁷³ am¹⁵¹⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ door²³⁷⁴ of the³⁵⁸⁸ sheep.⁴²⁶³

8  All³⁹⁵⁶ that³⁷⁴⁵ ever came²⁰⁶⁴ before⁴²⁵³ me¹⁷⁰⁰ are¹⁵²⁶ thieves²⁸¹² and²⁵³² robbers:³⁰²⁷ but²³⁵ the³⁵⁸⁸ sheep⁴²⁶³ did not³⁷⁵⁶ hear¹⁹¹ them.⁸⁴⁶

9  I¹⁴⁷³ am¹⁵¹⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ door:²³⁷⁴ by¹²²³ me¹⁷⁰⁰ if¹⁴³⁷ any man⁵¹⁰⁰ enter in,¹⁵²⁵ he shall be saved,⁴⁹⁸² and²⁵³² shall go in¹⁵²⁵ and²⁵³² out,¹⁸³¹ and²⁵³² find²¹⁴⁷ pasture.³⁵⁴²

10  The³⁵⁸⁸ thief²⁸¹² cometh²⁰⁶⁴ not,³⁷⁵⁶ but¹⁵⁰⁸ for to²⁴⁴³ steal,²⁸¹³ and²⁵³² to kill,²³⁸⁰ and²⁵³² to destroy:⁶²² I¹⁴⁷³ am come²⁰⁶⁴ that²⁴⁴³ they might have²¹⁹² life,²²²² and²⁵³² that they might have²¹⁹² it more abundantly.⁴⁰⁵³

11  I¹⁴⁷³ am¹⁵¹⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ good²⁵⁷⁰ shepherd:⁴¹⁶⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ good²⁵⁷⁰ shepherd⁴¹⁶⁶ giveth⁵⁰⁸⁷ his⁸⁴⁶ life⁵⁵⁹⁰ for⁵²²⁸ the³⁵⁸⁸ sheep.⁴²⁶³

12  But¹¹⁶¹ he that is a hireling,³⁴¹¹ and²⁵³² not³⁷⁵⁶ the⁵⁶⁰⁷ shepherd,⁴¹⁶⁶ whose³⁷³⁹ own²³⁹⁸ the³⁵⁸⁸ sheep⁴²⁶³ are¹⁵²⁶ not,³⁷⁵⁶ seeth²³³⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ wolf³⁰⁷⁴ coming,²⁰⁶⁴ and²⁵³² leaveth⁸⁶³ the³⁵⁸⁸ sheep,⁴²⁶³ and²⁵³² fleeth:⁵³⁴³ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ wolf³⁰⁷⁴ catcheth⁷²⁶ them,⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² scattereth⁴⁶⁵⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ sheep.⁴²⁶³
