Chapître 97

1

The LORD reigneth;¹ let the earth rejoice;⁴ let the multitude of isles be glad⁴ [thereof].

2

 Clouds and darkness [are] round about him: righteousness and judgment [are] the habitation of his throne.

3

A fire goeth⁴ before him, and burneth up¹⁷ his enemies round about.

4

His lightnings enlightened⁵² the world: the earth saw,¹ and trembled.⁴

5

The hills melted⁸ like wax at the presence of the LORD, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.

6

The heavens declare⁵² his righteousness, and all the people see¹ his glory.

7

 Confounded⁴ be all they that serve⁶ graven images, that boast¹⁰² themselves of idols: worship¹⁰⁰ him, all [ye] gods.

8

 Zion heard,¹ and was glad;⁴ and the daughters of Judah rejoiced⁴ because of thy judgments, O LORD.

9

For thou, LORD, [art] high above all the earth: thou art exalted⁸ far above all gods.

10

Ye that love⁶ the LORD, hate³ evil: he preserveth⁶ the souls of his saints; he delivereth⁵⁵ them out of the hand of the wicked.

11

 Light is sown⁷ for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.

12

 Rejoice³ in the LORD, ye righteous; and give thanks⁵⁴ at the remembrance of his holiness.
