Chapître 86

1

A Prayer of David.
Bow down⁵⁴ thine ear, O LORD, hear³ me: for I [am] poor and needy.

2

 Preserve³ my soul; for I [am] holy: O thou my God, save⁵⁴ thy servant that trusteth⁶ in thee.

3

Be merciful³ unto me, O Lord: for I cry⁴ unto thee daily.

4

 Rejoice¹⁶ the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up⁴ my soul.

5

For thou, Lord, [art] good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call⁶ upon thee.

6

Give ear,⁵⁴ O LORD, unto my prayer; and attend⁵⁴ to the voice of my supplications.

7

In the day of my trouble I will call⁴ upon thee: for thou wilt answer⁴ me.

8

Among the gods [there is] none like unto thee, O Lord; neither [are there any works] like unto thy works.

9

All nations whom thou hast made¹ shall come⁴ and worship¹⁰¹ before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify¹⁷ thy name.

10

For thou [art] great, and doest⁶ wondrous things:¹² thou [art] God alone.

11

 Teach⁵⁴ me thy way, O LORD; I will walk¹⁷ in thy truth: unite¹⁶ my heart to fear² thy name.

12

I will praise⁵⁵ thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify¹⁷ thy name for evermore.

13

For great [is] thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered⁵² my soul from the lowest hell.

14

O God, the proud are risen¹ against me, and the assemblies of violent [men] have sought¹⁴ after my soul; and have not set¹ thee before them.

15

But thou, O Lord, [art] a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, ⁶³⁹ and plenteous in mercy and truth.

16

O turn³ unto me, and have mercy³ upon me; give³ thy strength unto thy servant, and save⁵⁴ the son of thine handmaid.

17

 Shew³ me a token for good; that they which hate⁶ me may see⁴ [it], and be ashamed:⁴ because thou, LORD, hast holpen¹ me, and comforted¹⁴ me.
