Chapître 6

1

To the chief Musician¹⁸ on Neginoth upon Sheminith, ⁸⁰⁶⁶ A Psalm of David.
O LORD, rebuke⁵⁵ me not in thine anger, neither chasten¹⁷ me in thy hot displeasure.

Have mercy³ upon me, O LORD; for I [am] weak: O LORD, heal³ me; for my bones are vexed.⁸

My soul is also sore vexed:⁸ but thou, O LORD, how long?

 Return,³ O LORD, deliver¹⁶ my soul: oh save⁵⁴ me for thy mercies' sake.

For in death [there is] no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?⁵⁵

I am weary¹ with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim;⁵⁵ I water⁵⁵ my couch with my tears.

Mine eye is consumed¹ because of grief; it waxeth old¹ because of all mine enemies.⁶

8

 Depart³ from me, all ye workers⁶ of iniquity; for the LORD hath heard¹ the voice of my weeping.

9

The LORD hath heard¹ my supplication; the LORD will receive⁴ my prayer.

10

Let all mine enemies⁶ be ashamed⁴ and sore vexed:¹¹ let them return⁴ [and] be ashamed⁴ suddenly.
