Chapître 5

1

To the chief Musician¹⁸ upon Nehiloth, A Psalm of David.
Give ear⁵⁴ to my words, O LORD, consider³ my meditation.

2

 Hearken⁵⁴ unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.¹⁰¹

3

My voice shalt thou hear⁴ in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct⁴ [my prayer] unto thee, and will look up.¹⁷

4

For thou [art] not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell⁴ with thee.

The foolish⁶ shall not stand¹⁰¹ in thy sight: thou hatest¹ all workers⁶ of iniquity.

Thou shalt destroy¹⁷ them that speak⁶ leasing: the LORD will abhor¹⁷ the bloody and deceitful man.

7

But as for me, I will come⁴ [into] thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: [and] in thy fear will I worship¹⁰¹ toward thy holy temple.

8

 Lead³ me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies;⁶ make thy way straight⁵⁴ before my face.

9

For [there is] no faithfulness¹² in their mouth; their inward part [is] very wickedness; their throat [is] an open⁷ sepulchre; they flatter⁵⁵ with their tongue.

10

 Destroy⁵⁴ thou them, O God; let them fall⁴ by their own counsels; cast them out⁵⁴ in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled¹ against thee.

11

But let all those that put their trust⁶ in thee rejoice:⁴ let them ever shout for joy,¹⁷ because thou defendest⁵⁵ them: let them also that love⁶ thy name be joyful⁴ in thee.

12

For thou, LORD, wilt bless¹⁷ the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass⁴ him as [with] a shield.
