1 καὶ ἐγένετο ὅτε ἐτέλεσεν ὁ ἰησοῦς πάντας τοὺς λόγους τούτους, εἶπεν τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ,

2 οἴδατε ὅτι μετὰ δύο ἡμέρας τὸ πάσχα γίνεται, καὶ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου παραδίδοται εἰς τὸ σταυρωθῆναι.

3 τότε συνήχθησαν οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι τοῦ λαοῦ εἰς τὴν αὐλὴν τοῦ ἀρχιερέως τοῦ λεγομένου καϊάφα,

4 καὶ συνεβουλεύσαντο ἵνα τὸν ἰησοῦν δόλῳ κρατήσωσιν καὶ ἀποκτείνωσιν·

5 ἔλεγον δέ, μὴ ἐν τῇ ἑορτῇ, ἵνα μὴ θόρυβος γένηται ἐν τῶ λαῶ.

6 τοῦ δὲ ἰησοῦ γενομένου ἐν βηθανίᾳ ἐν οἰκίᾳ σίμωνος τοῦ λεπροῦ,

7 προσῆλθεν αὐτῶ γυνὴ ἔχουσα ἀλάβαστρον μύρου βαρυτίμου καὶ κατέχεεν ἐπὶ τῆς κεφαλῆς αὐτοῦ ἀνακειμένου.

8 ἰδόντες δὲ οἱ μαθηταὶ ἠγανάκτησαν λέγοντες, εἰς τί ἡ ἀπώλεια αὕτη;

9 ἐδύνατο γὰρ τοῦτο πραθῆναι πολλοῦ καὶ δοθῆναι πτωχοῖς.

10 γνοὺς δὲ ὁ ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς, τί κόπους παρέχετε τῇ γυναικί; ἔργον γὰρ καλὸν ἠργάσατο εἰς ἐμέ·

11 πάντοτε γὰρ τοὺς πτωχοὺς ἔχετε μεθ᾽ ἑαυτῶν, ἐμὲ δὲ οὐ πάντοτε ἔχετε·

12 βαλοῦσα γὰρ αὕτη τὸ μύρον τοῦτο ἐπὶ τοῦ σώματός μου πρὸς τὸ ἐνταφιάσαι με ἐποίησεν.

13 ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, ὅπου ἐὰν κηρυχθῇ τὸ εὐαγγέλιον τοῦτο ἐν ὅλῳ τῶ κόσμῳ, λαληθήσεται καὶ ὃ ἐποίησεν αὕτη εἰς μνημόσυνον αὐτῆς.

14 τότε πορευθεὶς εἷς τῶν δώδεκα, ὁ λεγόμενος ἰούδας ἰσκαριώτης, πρὸς τοὺς ἀρχιερεῖς

15 εἶπεν, τί θέλετέ μοι δοῦναι κἀγὼ ὑμῖν παραδώσω αὐτόν; οἱ δὲ ἔστησαν αὐτῶ τριάκοντα ἀργύρια.

16 καὶ ἀπὸ τότε ἐζήτει εὐκαιρίαν ἵνα αὐτὸν παραδῶ.

17 τῇ δὲ πρώτῃ τῶν ἀζύμων προσῆλθον οἱ μαθηταὶ τῶ ἰησοῦ λέγοντες, ποῦ θέλεις ἑτοιμάσωμέν σοι φαγεῖν τὸ πάσχα;

18 ὁ δὲ εἶπεν, ὑπάγετε εἰς τὴν πόλιν πρὸς τὸν δεῖνα καὶ εἴπατε αὐτῶ, ὁ διδάσκαλος λέγει, ὁ καιρός μου ἐγγύς ἐστιν· πρὸς σὲ ποιῶ τὸ πάσχα μετὰ τῶν μαθητῶν μου.

19 καὶ ἐποίησαν οἱ μαθηταὶ ὡς συνέταξεν αὐτοῖς ὁ ἰησοῦς, καὶ ἡτοίμασαν τὸ πάσχα.

20 ὀψίας δὲ γενομένης ἀνέκειτο μετὰ τῶν δώδεκα.

21 καὶ ἐσθιόντων αὐτῶν εἶπεν, ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι εἷς ἐξ ὑμῶν παραδώσει με.

22 καὶ λυπούμενοι σφόδρα ἤρξαντο λέγειν αὐτῶ εἷς ἕκαστος, μήτι ἐγώ εἰμι, κύριε;

23 ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν, ὁ ἐμβάψας μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ τὴν χεῖρα ἐν τῶ τρυβλίῳ οὖτός με παραδώσει.

24 ὁ μὲν υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ὑπάγει καθὼς γέγραπται περὶ αὐτοῦ, οὐαὶ δὲ τῶ ἀνθρώπῳ ἐκείνῳ δι᾽ οὖ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου παραδίδοται· καλὸν ἦν αὐτῶ εἰ οὐκ ἐγεννήθη ὁ ἄνθρωπος ἐκεῖνος.

25 ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ἰούδας ὁ παραδιδοὺς αὐτὸν εἶπεν, μήτι ἐγώ εἰμι, ῥαββί; λέγει αὐτῶ, σὺ εἶπας.

26 ἐσθιόντων δὲ αὐτῶν λαβὼν ὁ ἰησοῦς ἄρτον καὶ εὐλογήσας ἔκλασεν καὶ δοὺς τοῖς μαθηταῖς εἶπεν, λάβετε φάγετε, τοῦτό ἐστιν τὸ σῶμά μου.

27 καὶ λαβὼν ποτήριον καὶ εὐχαριστήσας ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς λέγων, πίετε ἐξ αὐτοῦ πάντες,

28 τοῦτο γάρ ἐστιν τὸ αἷμά μου τῆς διαθήκης τὸ περὶ πολλῶν ἐκχυννόμενον εἰς ἄφεσιν ἁμαρτιῶν.

29 λέγω δὲ ὑμῖν, οὐ μὴ πίω ἀπ᾽ ἄρτι ἐκ τούτου τοῦ γενήματος τῆς ἀμπέλου ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ἐκείνης ὅταν αὐτὸ πίνω μεθ᾽ ὑμῶν καινὸν ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ τοῦ πατρός μου.

30 καὶ ὑμνήσαντες ἐξῆλθον εἰς τὸ ὄρος τῶν ἐλαιῶν.

31 τότε λέγει αὐτοῖς ὁ ἰησοῦς, πάντες ὑμεῖς σκανδαλισθήσεσθε ἐν ἐμοὶ ἐν τῇ νυκτὶ ταύτῃ, γέγραπται γάρ, πατάξω τὸν ποιμένα, καὶ διασκορπισθήσονται τὰ πρόβατα τῆς ποίμνης·

32 μετὰ δὲ τὸ ἐγερθῆναί με προάξω ὑμᾶς εἰς τὴν γαλιλαίαν.

33 ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ πέτρος εἶπεν αὐτῶ, εἰ πάντες σκανδαλισθήσονται ἐν σοί, ἐγὼ οὐδέποτε σκανδαλισθήσομαι.

34 ἔφη αὐτῶ ὁ ἰησοῦς, ἀμὴν λέγω σοι ὅτι ἐν ταύτῃ τῇ νυκτὶ πρὶν ἀλέκτορα φωνῆσαι τρὶς ἀπαρνήσῃ με.

35 λέγει αὐτῶ ὁ πέτρος, κἂν δέῃ με σὺν σοὶ ἀποθανεῖν, οὐ μή σε ἀπαρνήσομαι. ὁμοίως καὶ πάντες οἱ μαθηταὶ εἶπαν.

36 τότε ἔρχεται μετ᾽ αὐτῶν ὁ ἰησοῦς εἰς χωρίον λεγόμενον γεθσημανί, καὶ λέγει τοῖς μαθηταῖς, καθίσατε αὐτοῦ ἕως [οὖ] ἀπελθὼν ἐκεῖ προσεύξωμαι.

37 καὶ παραλαβὼν τὸν πέτρον καὶ τοὺς δύο υἱοὺς ζεβεδαίου ἤρξατο λυπεῖσθαι καὶ ἀδημονεῖν.

38 τότε λέγει αὐτοῖς, περίλυπός ἐστιν ἡ ψυχή μου ἕως θανάτου· μείνατε ὧδε καὶ γρηγορεῖτε μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ.

39 καὶ προελθὼν μικρὸν ἔπεσεν ἐπὶ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ προσευχόμενος καὶ λέγων, πάτερ μου, εἰ δυνατόν ἐστιν, παρελθάτω ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ τὸ ποτήριον τοῦτο· πλὴν οὐχ ὡς ἐγὼ θέλω ἀλλ᾽ ὡς σύ.

40 καὶ ἔρχεται πρὸς τοὺς μαθητὰς καὶ εὑρίσκει αὐτοὺς καθεύδοντας, καὶ λέγει τῶ πέτρῳ, οὕτως οὐκ ἰσχύσατε μίαν ὥραν γρηγορῆσαι μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ;

41 γρηγορεῖτε καὶ προσεύχεσθε, ἵνα μὴ εἰσέλθητε εἰς πειρασμόν· τὸ μὲν πνεῦμα πρόθυμον ἡ δὲ σὰρξ ἀσθενής.

42 πάλιν ἐκ δευτέρου ἀπελθὼν προσηύξατο λέγων, πάτερ μου, εἰ οὐ δύναται τοῦτο παρελθεῖν ἐὰν μὴ αὐτὸ πίω, γενηθήτω τὸ θέλημά σου.

43 καὶ ἐλθὼν πάλιν εὖρεν αὐτοὺς καθεύδοντας, ἦσαν γὰρ αὐτῶν οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ βεβαρημένοι.

44 καὶ ἀφεὶς αὐτοὺς πάλιν ἀπελθὼν προσηύξατο ἐκ τρίτου τὸν αὐτὸν λόγον εἰπὼν πάλιν.

45 τότε ἔρχεται πρὸς τοὺς μαθητὰς καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς, καθεύδετε [τὸ] λοιπὸν καὶ ἀναπαύεσθε; ἰδοὺ ἤγγικεν ἡ ὥρα καὶ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου παραδίδοται εἰς χεῖρας ἁμαρτωλῶν.

46 ἐγείρεσθε, ἄγωμεν· ἰδοὺ ἤγγικεν ὁ παραδιδούς με.

47 καὶ ἔτι αὐτοῦ λαλοῦντος ἰδοὺ ἰούδας εἷς τῶν δώδεκα ἦλθεν καὶ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ ὄχλος πολὺς μετὰ μαχαιρῶν καὶ ξύλων ἀπὸ τῶν ἀρχιερέων καὶ πρεσβυτέρων τοῦ λαοῦ.

48 ὁ δὲ παραδιδοὺς αὐτὸν ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς σημεῖον λέγων, ὃν ἂν φιλήσω αὐτός ἐστιν· κρατήσατε αὐτόν.

49 καὶ εὐθέως προσελθὼν τῶ ἰησοῦ εἶπεν, χαῖρε, ῥαββί· καὶ κατεφίλησεν αὐτόν.

50 ὁ δὲ ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτῶ, ἑταῖρε, ἐφ᾽ ὃ πάρει. τότε προσελθόντες ἐπέβαλον τὰς χεῖρας ἐπὶ τὸν ἰησοῦν καὶ ἐκράτησαν αὐτόν.

51 καὶ ἰδοὺ εἷς τῶν μετὰ ἰησοῦ ἐκτείνας τὴν χεῖρα ἀπέσπασεν τὴν μάχαιραν αὐτοῦ καὶ πατάξας τὸν δοῦλον τοῦ ἀρχιερέως ἀφεῖλεν αὐτοῦ τὸ ὠτίον.

52 τότε λέγει αὐτῶ ὁ ἰησοῦς, ἀπόστρεψον τὴν μάχαιράν σου εἰς τὸν τόπον αὐτῆς, πάντες γὰρ οἱ λαβόντες μάχαιραν ἐν μαχαίρῃ ἀπολοῦνται.

53 ἢ δοκεῖς ὅτι οὐ δύναμαι παρακαλέσαι τὸν πατέρα μου, καὶ παραστήσει μοι ἄρτι πλείω δώδεκα λεγιῶνας ἀγγέλων;

54 πῶς οὗν πληρωθῶσιν αἱ γραφαὶ ὅτι οὕτως δεῖ γενέσθαι;

55 ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ὥρᾳ εἶπεν ὁ ἰησοῦς τοῖς ὄχλοις, ὡς ἐπὶ λῃστὴν ἐξήλθατε μετὰ μαχαιρῶν καὶ ξύλων συλλαβεῖν με; καθ᾽ ἡμέραν ἐν τῶ ἱερῶ ἐκαθεζόμην διδάσκων καὶ οὐκ ἐκρατήσατέ με.

56 τοῦτο δὲ ὅλον γέγονεν ἵνα πληρωθῶσιν αἱ γραφαὶ τῶν προφητῶν. τότε οἱ μαθηταὶ πάντες ἀφέντες αὐτὸν ἔφυγον.

57 οἱ δὲ κρατήσαντες τὸν ἰησοῦν ἀπήγαγον πρὸς καϊάφαν τὸν ἀρχιερέα, ὅπου οἱ γραμματεῖς καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι συνήχθησαν.

58 ὁ δὲ πέτρος ἠκολούθει αὐτῶ ἀπὸ μακρόθεν ἕως τῆς αὐλῆς τοῦ ἀρχιερέως, καὶ εἰσελθὼν ἔσω ἐκάθητο μετὰ τῶν ὑπηρετῶν ἰδεῖν τὸ τέλος.

59 οἱ δὲ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ τὸ συνέδριον ὅλον ἐζήτουν ψευδομαρτυρίαν κατὰ τοῦ ἰησοῦ ὅπως αὐτὸν θανατώσωσιν,

60 καὶ οὐχ εὖρον πολλῶν προσελθόντων ψευδομαρτύρων. ὕστερον δὲ προσελθόντες δύο

61 εἶπαν, οὖτος ἔφη, δύναμαι καταλῦσαι τὸν ναὸν τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ διὰ τριῶν ἡμερῶν οἰκοδομῆσαι.

62 καὶ ἀναστὰς ὁ ἀρχιερεὺς εἶπεν αὐτῶ, οὐδὲν ἀποκρίνῃ; τί οὖτοί σου καταμαρτυροῦσιν;

63 ὁ δὲ ἰησοῦς ἐσιώπα. καὶ ὁ ἀρχιερεὺς εἶπεν αὐτῶ, ἐξορκίζω σε κατὰ τοῦ θεοῦ τοῦ ζῶντος ἵνα ἡμῖν εἴπῃς εἰ σὺ εἶ ὁ χριστὸς ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ θεοῦ.

64 λέγει αὐτῶ ὁ ἰησοῦς, σὺ εἶπας· πλὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, ἀπ᾽ ἄρτι ὄψεσθε τὸν υἱὸν τοῦ ἀνθρώπου καθήμενον ἐκ δεξιῶν τῆς δυνάμεως καὶ ἐρχόμενον ἐπὶ τῶν νεφελῶν τοῦ οὐρανοῦ.

65 τότε ὁ ἀρχιερεὺς διέρρηξεν τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ λέγων, ἐβλασφήμησεν· τί ἔτι χρείαν ἔχομεν μαρτύρων; ἴδε νῦν ἠκούσατε τὴν βλασφημίαν·

66 τί ὑμῖν δοκεῖ; οἱ δὲ ἀποκριθέντες εἶπαν, ἔνοχος θανάτου ἐστίν.

67 τότε ἐνέπτυσαν εἰς τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐκολάφισαν αὐτόν, οἱ δὲ ἐράπισαν

68 λέγοντες, προφήτευσον ἡμῖν, χριστέ, τίς ἐστιν ὁ παίσας σε;

69 ὁ δὲ πέτρος ἐκάθητο ἔξω ἐν τῇ αὐλῇ· καὶ προσῆλθεν αὐτῶ μία παιδίσκη λέγουσα, καὶ σὺ ἦσθα μετὰ ἰησοῦ τοῦ γαλιλαίου.

70 ὁ δὲ ἠρνήσατο ἔμπροσθεν πάντων λέγων, οὐκ οἶδα τί λέγεις.

71 ἐξελθόντα δὲ εἰς τὸν πυλῶνα εἶδεν αὐτὸν ἄλλη καὶ λέγει τοῖς ἐκεῖ, οὖτος ἦν μετὰ ἰησοῦ τοῦ ναζωραίου.

72 καὶ πάλιν ἠρνήσατο μετὰ ὅρκου ὅτι οὐκ οἶδα τὸν ἄνθρωπον.

73 μετὰ μικρὸν δὲ προσελθόντες οἱ ἑστῶτες εἶπον τῶ πέτρῳ, ἀληθῶς καὶ σὺ ἐξ αὐτῶν εἶ, καὶ γὰρ ἡ λαλιά σου δῆλόν σε ποιεῖ.

74 τότε ἤρξατο καταθεματίζειν καὶ ὀμνύειν ὅτι οὐκ οἶδα τὸν ἄνθρωπον. καὶ εὐθέως ἀλέκτωρ ἐφώνησεν.

75 καὶ ἐμνήσθη ὁ πέτρος τοῦ ῥήματος ἰησοῦ εἰρηκότος ὅτι πρὶν ἀλέκτορα φωνῆσαι τρὶς ἀπαρνήσῃ με· καὶ ἐξελθὼν ἔξω ἔκλαυσεν πικρῶς.

1  And²⁵³² it came to pass,¹⁰⁹⁶ when³⁷⁵³ Jesus²⁴²⁴ had finished⁵⁰⁵⁵ all³⁹⁵⁶ these⁵¹²⁸ sayings,³⁰⁵⁶ he said²⁰³⁶ unto his⁸⁴⁸ disciples,³¹⁰¹

2  Ye know¹⁴⁹² that³⁷⁵⁴ after³³²⁶ two¹⁴¹⁷ days²²⁵⁰ is¹⁰⁹⁶ the feast of the³⁵⁸⁸ passover,³⁹⁵⁷ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ Son⁵²⁰⁷ of man⁴⁴⁴ is betrayed³⁸⁶⁰ to be crucified.⁴⁷¹⁷

3  Then⁵¹¹⁹ assembled together⁴⁸⁶³ the³⁵⁸⁸ chief priests,⁷⁴⁹ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ scribes,¹¹²² and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ elders⁴²⁴⁵ of the³⁵⁸⁸ people,²⁹⁹² unto¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ palace⁸³³ of the³⁵⁸⁸ high priest,⁷⁴⁹ who was called³⁰⁰⁴ Caiaphas,²⁵³³

4  And²⁵³² consulted⁴⁸²³ that²⁴⁴³ they might take²⁹⁰² Jesus²⁴²⁴ by subtlety,¹³⁸⁸ and²⁵³² kill⁶¹⁵ him.

5  But¹¹⁶¹ they said,³⁰⁰⁴ Not³³⁶¹ on¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ feast¹⁸⁵⁹ day, lest³³⁶³ there be¹⁰⁹⁶ an uproar²³⁵¹ among¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ people.²⁹⁹²

6  Now¹¹⁶¹ when Jesus²⁴²⁴ was¹⁰⁹⁶ in¹⁷²² Bethany,⁹⁶³ in¹⁷²² the house³⁶¹⁴ of Simon⁴⁶¹³ the³⁵⁸⁸ leper,³⁰¹⁵

7  There came⁴³³⁴ unto him⁸⁴⁶ a woman¹¹³⁵ having²¹⁹² an alabaster box²¹¹ of very precious⁹²⁷ ointment,³⁴⁶⁴ and²⁵³² poured²⁷⁰⁸ it on¹⁹⁰⁹ his⁸⁴⁶ head,²⁷⁷⁶ as he sat³⁴⁵ at meat.

8  But¹¹⁶¹ when his⁸⁴⁶ disciples³¹⁰¹ saw¹⁴⁹² it, they had indignation,²³ saying,³⁰⁰⁴ To¹⁵¹⁹ what purpose⁵¹⁰¹ is this³⁷⁷⁸ waste?⁶⁸⁴

9  For¹⁰⁶³ this⁵¹²⁴ ointment³⁴⁶⁴ might¹⁴¹⁰ have been sold⁴⁰⁹⁷ for much,⁴¹⁸³ and²⁵³² given¹³²⁵ to the poor.⁴⁴³⁴

10  When¹¹⁶¹ Jesus²⁴²⁴ understood¹⁰⁹⁷ it, he said²⁰³⁶ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ Why⁵¹⁰¹ trouble^{3930 2873} ye the³⁵⁸⁸ woman?¹¹³⁵ for¹⁰⁶³ she hath wrought²⁰³⁸ a good²⁵⁷⁰ work²⁰⁴¹ upon¹⁵¹⁹ me.¹⁶⁹¹

11  For¹⁰⁶³ ye have²¹⁹² the³⁵⁸⁸ poor⁴⁴³⁴ always³⁸⁴² with³³²⁶ you;¹⁴³⁸ but¹¹⁶¹ me¹⁶⁹¹ ye have²¹⁹² not³⁷⁵⁶ always.³⁸⁴²

12  For¹⁰⁶³ in that³⁷⁷⁸ she hath poured⁹⁰⁶ this⁵¹²⁴ ointment³⁴⁶⁴ on¹⁹⁰⁹ my³⁴⁵⁰ body,⁴⁹⁸³ she did⁴¹⁶⁰ it for my³¹⁶⁵ burial.¹⁷⁷⁹

13  Verily²⁸¹ I say³⁰⁰⁴ unto you,⁵²¹³ Wheresoever^{3699 1437} this⁵¹²⁴ gospel²⁰⁹⁸ shall be preached²⁷⁸⁴ in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ whole³⁶⁵⁰ world,²⁸⁸⁹ there shall also²⁵³² this,³⁷³⁹ that this woman³⁷⁷⁸ hath done,⁴¹⁶⁰ be told²⁹⁸⁰ for¹⁵¹⁹ a memorial³⁴²² of her.⁸⁴⁶

14  Then⁵¹¹⁹ one¹⁵²⁰ of the³⁵⁸⁸ twelve,¹⁴²⁷ called³⁰⁰⁴ Judas²⁴⁵⁵ Iscariot,²⁴⁶⁹ went⁴¹⁹⁸ unto⁴³¹⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ chief priests,⁷⁴⁹

15  And said²⁰³⁶ unto them, What⁵¹⁰¹ will²³⁰⁹ ye give¹³²⁵ me,³⁴²⁷ and I²⁵⁰⁴ will deliver³⁸⁶⁰ him⁸⁴⁶ unto you?⁵²¹³ And¹¹⁶¹ they³⁵⁸⁸ covenanted²⁴⁷⁶ with him⁸⁴⁶ for thirty⁵¹⁴⁴ pieces of silver.⁶⁹⁴

16  And²⁵³² from⁵⁷⁵ that time⁵¹¹⁹ he sought²²¹² opportunity²¹²⁰ to²⁴⁴³ betray³⁸⁶⁰ him.⁸⁴⁶

17  Now¹¹⁶¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ first⁴⁴¹³ day of the³⁵⁸⁸ feast of unleavened bread¹⁰⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ disciples³¹⁰¹ came⁴³³⁴ to Jesus,²⁴²⁴ saying³⁰⁰⁴ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Where⁴²²⁶ wilt²³⁰⁹ thou that we prepare²⁰⁹⁰ for thee⁴⁶⁷¹ to eat⁵³¹⁵ the³⁵⁸⁸ passover?³⁹⁵⁷

18  And¹¹⁶¹ he³⁵⁸⁸ said,²⁰³⁶ Go⁵²¹⁷ into¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ city⁴¹⁷² to⁴³¹⁴ such a man,¹¹⁷⁰ and²⁵³² say²⁰³⁶ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ The³⁵⁸⁸ Master¹³²⁰ saith,³⁰⁰⁴ My³⁴⁵⁰ time²⁵⁴⁰ is²⁰⁷⁶ at hand;¹⁴⁵¹ I will keep⁴¹⁶⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ passover³⁹⁵⁷ at⁴³¹⁴ thy house⁴⁵⁷¹ with³³²⁶ my³⁴⁵⁰ disciples.³¹⁰¹

19  And²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ disciples³¹⁰¹ did⁴¹⁶⁰ as⁵⁶¹³ Jesus²⁴²⁴ had appointed⁴⁹²⁹ them;⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² they made ready²⁰⁹⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ passover.³⁹⁵⁷

20  Now¹¹⁶¹ when the even³⁷⁹⁸ was come,¹⁰⁹⁶ he sat down³⁴⁵ with³³²⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ twelve.¹⁴²⁷

21  And²⁵³² as they⁸⁴⁶ did eat,²⁰⁶⁸ he said,²⁰³⁶ Verily²⁸¹ I say³⁰⁰⁴ unto you,⁵²¹³ that³⁷⁵⁴ one¹⁵²⁰ of¹⁵³⁷ you⁵²¹⁶ shall betray³⁸⁶⁰ me.³¹⁶⁵

22  And²⁵³² they were exceeding sorrowful,^{3076 4970} and began⁷⁵⁶ every one¹⁵³⁸ of them⁸⁴⁶ to say³⁰⁰⁴ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Lord,^{2962 3385} is¹⁵¹⁰ it I?¹⁴⁷³

23  And¹¹⁶¹ he³⁵⁸⁸ answered⁶¹¹ and said,²⁰³⁶ He that dippeth¹⁶⁸⁶ his hand⁵⁴⁹⁵ with³³²⁶ me¹⁷⁰⁰ in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ dish,⁵¹⁶⁵ the same³⁷⁷⁸ shall betray³⁸⁶⁰ me.³¹⁶⁵

24  The³⁵⁸⁸ Son⁵²⁰⁷ of man⁴⁴⁴ goeth⁵²¹⁷ as²⁵³¹ it³³⁰³ is written¹¹²⁵ of⁴⁰¹² him:⁸⁴⁶ but¹¹⁶¹ woe³⁷⁵⁹ unto that¹⁵⁶⁵ man⁴⁴⁴ by¹²²³ whom³⁷³⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ Son⁵²⁰⁷ of man⁴⁴⁴ is betrayed!³⁸⁶⁰ it had been²²⁵⁸ good²⁵⁷⁰ for⁸⁴⁶ that¹⁵⁶⁵ man⁴⁴⁴ if¹⁴⁸⁷ he had not³⁷⁵⁶ been born.¹⁰⁸⁰

25  Then¹¹⁶¹ Judas,²⁴⁵⁵ which betrayed³⁸⁶⁰ him,⁸⁴⁶ answered⁶¹¹ and said,²⁰³⁶ Master,^{4461 3385} is¹⁵¹⁰ it I?¹⁴⁷³ He said³⁰⁰⁴ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Thou⁴⁷⁷¹ hast said.²⁰³⁶

26  And¹¹⁶¹ as they⁸⁴⁶ were eating,²⁰⁶⁸ Jesus²⁴²⁴ took²⁹⁸³ bread,⁷⁴⁰ and²⁵³² blessed²¹²⁷ it, and broke²⁸⁰⁶ it, and²⁵³² gave¹³²⁵ it to the³⁵⁸⁸ disciples,³¹⁰¹ and²⁵³² said,²⁰³⁶ Take,²⁹⁸³ eat;⁵³¹⁵ this⁵¹²⁴ is²⁰⁷⁶ my³⁴⁵⁰ body.⁴⁹⁸³

27  And²⁵³² he took²⁹⁸³ the³⁵⁸⁸ cup,⁴²²¹ and²⁵³² gave thanks,²¹⁶⁸ and gave¹³²⁵ it to them,⁸⁴⁶ saying,³⁰⁰⁴ Drink⁴⁰⁹⁵ ye all³⁹⁵⁶ of¹⁵³⁷ it;⁸⁴⁶

28  For¹⁰⁶³ this⁵¹²⁴ is²⁰⁷⁶ my³⁴⁵⁰ blood¹²⁹ of³⁵⁸⁸ the³⁵⁸⁸ new²⁵³⁷ testament,¹²⁴² which is shed¹⁶³² for⁴⁰¹² many⁴¹⁸³ for¹⁵¹⁹ the remission⁸⁵⁹ of sins.²⁶⁶

29  But¹¹⁶¹ I say³⁰⁰⁴ unto you,⁵²¹³ I will not³³⁶⁴ drink⁴⁰⁹⁵ henceforth^{575 737} of¹⁵³⁷ this⁵¹²⁷ fruit¹⁰⁸¹ of the³⁵⁸⁸ vine,²⁸⁸ until²¹⁹³ that¹⁵⁶⁵ day²²⁵⁰ when³⁷⁵² I drink⁴⁰⁹⁵ it⁸⁴⁶ new²⁵³⁷ with³³²⁶ you⁵²¹⁶ in¹⁷²² my³⁴⁵⁰ Father's³⁹⁶² kingdom.⁹³²

30  And²⁵³² when they had sung a hymn,⁵²¹⁴ they went out¹⁸³¹ into¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ mount³⁷³⁵ of Olives.¹⁶³⁶

31  Then⁵¹¹⁹ saith³⁰⁰⁴ Jesus²⁴²⁴ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ All³⁹⁵⁶ ye⁵²¹⁰ shall be offended⁴⁶²⁴ because¹⁷²² of me^{1698 1722} this⁵⁰²⁶ night:³⁵⁷¹ for¹⁰⁶³ it is written,¹¹²⁵ I will smite³⁹⁶⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ shepherd,⁴¹⁶⁶ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ sheep⁴²⁶³ of the³⁵⁸⁸ flock⁴¹⁶⁷ shall be scattered abroad.¹²⁸⁷

32  But¹¹⁶¹ after I³¹⁶⁵ am risen again,¹⁴⁵³ I will go before⁴²⁵⁴ you⁵²⁰⁹ into¹⁵¹⁹ Galilee.¹⁰⁵⁶

33  ¹¹⁶¹ Peter⁴⁰⁷⁴ answered⁶¹¹ and said²⁰³⁶ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Though¹⁴⁹⁹ all³⁹⁵⁶ men shall be offended⁴⁶²⁴ because¹⁷²² of thee,⁴⁶⁷¹ yet will I¹⁴⁷³ never³⁷⁶³ be offended.⁴⁶²⁴

34  Jesus²⁴²⁴ said⁵³⁴⁶ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Verily²⁸¹ I say³⁰⁰⁴ unto thee,⁴⁶⁷¹ That^{3754 1722} this⁵⁰²⁶ night,³⁵⁷¹ before⁴²⁵⁰ the cock²²⁰ crow,⁵⁴⁵⁵ thou shalt deny⁵³³ me³¹⁶⁵ thrice.⁵¹⁵¹

35  Peter⁴⁰⁷⁴ said³⁰⁰⁴ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Though²⁵⁷⁹ I³¹⁶⁵ should¹¹⁶³ die⁵⁹⁹ with⁴⁸⁶² thee,⁴⁶⁷¹ yet will I not³³⁶⁴ deny⁵³³ thee.⁴⁵⁷¹ Likewise³⁶⁶⁸ also²⁵³² said²⁰³⁶ all³⁹⁵⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ disciples.³¹⁰¹

36  Then⁵¹¹⁹ cometh²⁰⁶⁴ Jesus²⁴²⁴ with³³²⁶ them⁸⁴⁶ unto¹⁵¹⁹ a place⁵⁵⁶⁴ called³⁰⁰⁴ Gethsemane,¹⁰⁶⁸ and²⁵³² saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto the³⁵⁸⁸ disciples,³¹⁰¹ Sit²⁵²³ ye here,⁸⁴⁷ while^{2193 3739} I go⁵⁶⁵ and pray⁴³³⁶ yonder.¹⁵⁶³

37  And²⁵³² he took with³⁸⁸⁰ him Peter⁴⁰⁷⁴ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ two¹⁴¹⁷ sons⁵²⁰⁷ of Zebedee,²¹⁹⁹ and began⁷⁵⁶ to be sorrowful³⁰⁷⁶ and²⁵³² very heavy.⁸⁵

38  Then⁵¹¹⁹ saith³⁰⁰⁴ he unto them,⁸⁴⁶ My³⁴⁵⁰ soul⁵⁵⁹⁰ is²⁰⁷⁶ exceeding sorrowful,⁴⁰³⁶ even unto²¹⁹³ death:²²⁸⁸ tarry³³⁰⁶ ye here,⁵⁶⁰² and²⁵³² watch¹¹²⁷ with³³²⁶ me.¹⁷⁰⁰

39  And²⁵³² he went⁴²⁸¹ a little farther,³³⁹⁷ and fell⁴⁰⁹⁸ on¹⁹⁰⁹ his⁸⁴⁸ face,⁴³⁸³ and prayed,^{4336 2532} saying,³⁰⁰⁴ O my³⁴⁵⁰ Father,³⁹⁶² if¹⁴⁸⁷ it be²⁰⁷⁶ possible,¹⁴¹⁵ let this⁵¹²⁴ cup⁴²²¹ pass³⁹²⁸ from⁵⁷⁵ me:¹⁷⁰⁰ nevertheless⁴¹³³ not³⁷⁵⁶ as⁵⁶¹³ I¹⁴⁷³ will,²³⁰⁹ but²³⁵ as⁵⁶¹³ thou⁴⁷⁷¹ wilt.

40  And²⁵³² he cometh²⁰⁶⁴ unto⁴³¹⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ disciples,³¹⁰¹ and²⁵³² findeth²¹⁴⁷ them⁸⁴⁶ asleep,²⁵¹⁸ and²⁵³² saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto Peter,⁴⁰⁷⁴ What,³⁷⁷⁹ could²⁴⁸⁰ ye not³⁷⁵⁶ watch¹¹²⁷ with³³²⁶ me¹⁷⁰⁰ one³³⁹¹ hour?⁵⁶¹⁰

41  Watch¹¹²⁷ and²⁵³² pray,⁴³³⁶ that²⁴⁴³ ye enter¹⁵²⁵ not³³⁶¹ into¹⁵¹⁹ temptation:³⁹⁸⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ spirit⁴¹⁵¹ indeed³³⁰³ is willing,⁴²⁸⁹ but¹¹⁶¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ flesh⁴⁵⁶¹ is weak.⁷⁷²

42  He went away⁵⁶⁵ again³⁸²⁵ the¹⁵³⁷ second time,¹²⁰⁸ and prayed,⁴³³⁶ saying,³⁰⁰⁴ O my³⁴⁵⁰ Father,³⁹⁶² if¹⁴⁸⁷ this⁵¹²⁴ cup⁴²²¹ may¹⁴¹⁰ not³⁷⁵⁶ pass away³⁹²⁸ from⁵⁷⁵ me,¹⁷⁰⁰ except³³⁶² I drink⁴⁰⁹⁵ it,⁸⁴⁶ thy⁴⁶⁷⁵ will²³⁰⁷ be done.¹⁰⁹⁶

43  And²⁵³² he came²⁰⁶⁴ and found²¹⁴⁷ them⁸⁴⁶ asleep²⁵¹⁸ again:³⁸²⁵ for¹⁰⁶³ their⁸⁴⁶ eyes³⁷⁸⁸ were²²⁵⁸ heavy.⁹¹⁶

44  And²⁵³² he left⁸⁶³ them,⁸⁴⁶ and went away⁵⁶⁵ again,³⁸²⁵ and prayed⁴³³⁶ the¹⁵³⁷ third time,⁵¹⁵⁴ saying²⁰³⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ same⁸⁴⁸ words.³⁰⁵⁶

45  Then⁵¹¹⁹ cometh²⁰⁶⁴ he to⁴³¹⁴ his⁸⁴⁸ disciples,³¹⁰¹ and²⁵³² saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ Sleep on²⁵¹⁸ now,³⁰⁶³ and²⁵³² take your rest:³⁷³ behold,²⁴⁰⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ hour⁵⁶¹⁰ is at hand,¹⁴⁴⁸ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ Son⁵²⁰⁷ of man⁴⁴⁴ is betrayed³⁸⁶⁰ into¹⁵¹⁹ the hands⁵⁴⁹⁵ of sinners.²⁶⁸

46  Rise,¹⁴⁵³ let us be going:⁷¹ behold,²⁴⁰⁰ he is at hand¹⁴⁴⁸ that doth betray³⁸⁶⁰ me.³¹⁶⁵

47  And²⁵³² while he⁸⁴⁶ yet²⁰⁸⁹ spake,²⁹⁸⁰ lo,²⁴⁰⁰ Judas,²⁴⁵⁵ one¹⁵²⁰ of the³⁵⁸⁸ twelve,¹⁴²⁷ came,²⁰⁶⁴ and²⁵³² with³³²⁶ him⁸⁴⁶ a great⁴¹⁸³ multitude³⁷⁹³ with³³²⁶ swords³¹⁶² and²⁵³² staves,³⁵⁸⁶ from⁵⁷⁵ the³⁵⁸⁸ chief priests⁷⁴⁹ and²⁵³² elders⁴²⁴⁵ of the³⁵⁸⁸ people.²⁹⁹²

48  Now¹¹⁶¹ he that betrayed³⁸⁶⁰ him⁸⁴⁶ gave¹³²⁵ them⁸⁴⁶ a sign,⁴⁵⁹² saying,³⁰⁰⁴ Whomsoever^{3739 302} I shall kiss,⁵³⁶⁸ that same⁸⁴⁶ is²⁰⁷⁶ he: hold him fast.^{2902 846}

49  And²⁵³² forthwith²¹¹² he came⁴³³⁴ to Jesus,²⁴²⁴ and said,²⁰³⁶ Hail,⁵⁴⁶³ master;⁴⁴⁶¹ and²⁵³² kissed²⁷⁰⁵ him.⁸⁴⁶

50  And¹¹⁶¹ Jesus²⁴²⁴ said²⁰³⁶ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Friend,²⁰⁸³ wherefore^{1909 3739} art thou come? Then³⁹¹⁸ came⁴³³⁴ they, and laid¹⁹¹¹ hands⁵⁴⁹⁵ on¹⁹⁰⁹ Jesus,²⁴²⁴ and²⁵³² took²⁹⁰² him.⁸⁴⁶

51  And,²⁵³² behold,²⁴⁰⁰ one¹⁵²⁰ of them³⁵⁸⁸ which were with³³²⁶ Jesus²⁴²⁴ stretched out¹⁶¹⁴ his hand,⁵⁴⁹⁵ and drew⁶⁴⁵ his⁸⁴⁸ sword,³¹⁶² and²⁵³² struck³⁹⁶⁰ a servant¹⁴⁰¹ of the³⁵⁸⁸ high priest's,⁷⁴⁹ and smote off⁸⁵¹ his⁸⁴⁶ ear.⁵⁶²¹

52  Then⁵¹¹⁹ said³⁰⁰⁴ Jesus²⁴²⁴ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Put up again⁶⁵⁴ thy⁴⁶⁷⁵ sword³¹⁶² into¹⁵¹⁹ his⁸⁴⁶ place:⁵¹¹⁷ for¹⁰⁶³ all³⁹⁵⁶ they that take²⁹⁸³ the sword³¹⁶² shall perish⁶²² with¹⁷²² the sword.³¹⁶²

53  ²²²⁸ Thinkest¹³⁸⁰ thou that³⁷⁵⁴ I cannot^{1410 3756} now⁷³⁷ pray³⁸⁷⁰ to my³⁴⁵⁰ Father,³⁹⁶² and²⁵³² he shall presently give³⁹³⁶ me³⁴²⁷ more⁴¹¹⁹ than²²²⁸ twelve¹⁴²⁷ legions³⁰⁰³ of angels?³²

54  But how⁴⁴⁵⁹ then³⁷⁶⁷ shall the³⁵⁸⁸ Scriptures¹¹²⁴ be fulfilled,⁴¹³⁷ that³⁷⁵⁴ thus³⁷⁷⁹ it must¹¹⁶³ be?¹⁰⁹⁶

55  In¹⁷²² that same¹⁵⁶⁵ hour⁵⁶¹⁰ said²⁰³⁶ Jesus²⁴²⁴ to the³⁵⁸⁸ multitudes,³⁷⁹³ Are ye come out¹⁸³¹ as⁵⁶¹³ against¹⁹⁰⁹ a thief³⁰²⁷ with³³²⁶ swords³¹⁶² and²⁵³² staves³⁵⁸⁶ for to take⁴⁸¹⁵ me?³¹⁶⁵ I sat²⁵¹⁶ daily^{2596 2250} with⁴³¹⁴ you⁵²⁰⁹ teaching¹³²¹ in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ temple,²⁴¹¹ and²⁵³² ye laid no hold^{2902 3756} on me.³¹⁶⁵

56  But¹¹⁶¹ all³⁶⁵⁰ this⁵¹²⁴ was done,¹⁰⁹⁶ that²⁴⁴³ the³⁵⁸⁸ Scriptures¹¹²⁴ of the³⁵⁸⁸ prophets⁴³⁹⁶ might be fulfilled.⁴¹³⁷ Then⁵¹¹⁹ all³⁹⁵⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ disciples³¹⁰¹ forsook⁸⁶³ him,⁸⁴⁶ and fled.⁵³⁴³

57  And¹¹⁶¹ they that had laid hold²⁹⁰² on Jesus²⁴²⁴ led him away⁵²⁰ to⁴³¹⁴ Caiaphas²⁵³³ the³⁵⁸⁸ high priest,⁷⁴⁹ where³⁶⁹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ scribes¹¹²² and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ elders⁴²⁴⁵ were assembled.⁴⁸⁶³

58  But¹¹⁶¹ Peter⁴⁰⁷⁴ followed¹⁹⁰ him⁸⁴⁶ afar off^{575 3113} unto²¹⁹³ the³⁵⁸⁸ high priest's⁷⁴⁹ palace,⁸³³ and²⁵³² went¹⁵²⁵ in,²⁰⁸⁰ and sat²⁵²¹ with³³²⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ servants,⁵²⁵⁷ to see¹⁴⁹² the³⁵⁸⁸ end.⁵⁰⁵⁶

59  Now¹¹⁶¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ chief priests,⁷⁴⁹ and²⁵³² elders,⁴²⁴⁵ and²⁵³² all³⁶⁵⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ council,⁴⁸⁹² sought²²¹² false witness⁵⁵⁷⁷ against²⁵⁹⁶ Jesus,²⁴²⁴ to³⁷⁰⁴ put him to death;^{2289 846}

60  But²⁵³² found²¹⁴⁷ none:³⁷⁵⁶ yea, though²⁵³² many⁴¹⁸³ false witnesses⁵⁵⁷⁵ came,⁴³³⁴ yet found²¹⁴⁷ they none.³⁷⁵⁶ At the last^{1161 5305} came⁴³³⁴ two¹⁴¹⁷ false witnesses,⁵⁵⁷⁵

61  And said,²⁰³⁶ this³⁷⁷⁸ fellow said,⁵³⁴⁶ I am able¹⁴¹⁰ to destroy²⁶⁴⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ temple³⁴⁸⁵ of God,²³¹⁶ and²⁵³² to build³⁶¹⁸ it⁸⁴⁶ in¹²²³ three⁵¹⁴⁰ days.²²⁵⁰

62  And²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ high priest⁷⁴⁹ arose,⁴⁵⁰ and said²⁰³⁶ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Answerest⁶¹¹ thou nothing?³⁷⁶² what⁵¹⁰¹ is it which these³⁷⁷⁸ witness against²⁶⁴⁹ thee?⁴⁶⁷⁵

63  But¹¹⁶¹ Jesus²⁴²⁴ held his peace.⁴⁶²³ And²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ high priest⁷⁴⁹ answered⁶¹¹ and said²⁰³⁶ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ I adjure¹⁸⁴⁴ thee⁴⁵⁷¹ by²⁵⁹⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ living²¹⁹⁸ God,²³¹⁶ that²⁴⁴³ thou tell²⁰³⁶ us²²⁵⁴ whether¹⁴⁸⁷ thou⁴⁷⁷¹ be¹⁴⁸⁸ the³⁵⁸⁸ Christ,⁵⁵⁴⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ Son⁵²⁰⁷ of God.²³¹⁶

64  Jesus²⁴²⁴ saith³⁰⁰⁴ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Thou⁴⁷⁷¹ hast said:²⁰³⁶ nevertheless⁴¹³³ I say³⁰⁰⁴ unto you,⁵²¹³ Hereafter^{575 737} shall ye see³⁷⁰⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ Son⁵²⁰⁷ of man⁴⁴⁴ sitting²⁵²¹ on¹⁵³⁷ the right hand¹¹⁸⁸ of power,¹⁴¹¹ and²⁵³² coming²⁰⁶⁴ in¹⁹⁰⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ clouds³⁵⁰⁷ of heaven.³⁷⁷²

65  Then⁵¹¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ high priest⁷⁴⁹ rent¹²⁸⁴ his⁸⁴⁸ clothes,²⁴⁴⁰ saying,³⁰⁰⁴ He hath spoken blasphemy;⁹⁸⁷ what⁵¹⁰¹ further²⁰⁸⁹ need⁵⁵³² have²¹⁹² we of witnesses?³¹⁴⁴ behold,²³⁹⁶ now³⁵⁶⁸ ye have heard¹⁹¹ his⁸⁴⁶ blasphemy.⁹⁸⁸

66  What⁵¹⁰¹ think¹³⁸⁰ ye?^{5213 1161} They³⁵⁸⁸ answered⁶¹¹ and said,²⁰³⁶ He is²⁰⁷⁶ guilty¹⁷⁷⁷ of death.²²⁸⁸

67  Then⁵¹¹⁹ did they spit¹⁷¹⁶ in¹⁵¹⁹ his⁸⁴⁶ face,⁴³⁸³ and²⁵³² buffeted²⁸⁵² him;⁸⁴⁶ and¹¹⁶¹ others³⁵⁸⁸ smote him with the palms of their hands,⁴⁴⁷⁴

68  Saying,³⁰⁰⁴ Prophesy⁴³⁹⁵ unto us,²²⁵⁴ thou Christ,⁵⁵⁴⁷ Who⁵¹⁰¹ is²⁰⁷⁶ he that smote³⁸¹⁷ thee?⁴⁵⁷¹

69  Now¹¹⁶¹ Peter⁴⁰⁷⁴ sat²⁵²¹ without¹⁸⁵⁴ in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ palace:⁸³³ and²⁵³² a³³⁹¹ damsel³⁸¹⁴ came⁴³³⁴ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ saying,³⁰⁰⁴ Thou⁴⁷⁷¹ also²⁵³² wast²²⁵⁸ with³³²⁶ Jesus²⁴²⁴ of Galilee.¹⁰⁵⁷

70  But¹¹⁶¹ he³⁵⁸⁸ denied⁷²⁰ before¹⁷¹⁵ them all,³⁹⁵⁶ saying,³⁰⁰⁴ I know¹⁴⁹² not³⁷⁵⁶ what⁵¹⁰¹ thou sayest.³⁰⁰⁴

71  And¹¹⁶¹ when he⁸⁴⁶ was gone out¹⁸³¹ into¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ porch,⁴⁴⁴⁰ another²⁴³ maid saw¹⁴⁹² him,⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² said³⁰⁰⁴ unto them³⁵⁸⁸ that were there,¹⁵⁶³ This³⁷⁷⁸ fellow was²²⁵⁸ also²⁵³² with³³²⁶ Jesus²⁴²⁴ of Nazareth.³⁴⁸⁰

72  And²⁵³² again³⁸²⁵ he denied⁷²⁰ with³³²⁶ an oath,³⁷²⁷ I do not³⁷⁵⁶ know¹⁴⁹² the³⁵⁸⁸ man.⁴⁴⁴

73  And¹¹⁶¹ after³³²⁶ a while³³⁹⁷ came⁴³³⁴ unto him they that stood by,²⁴⁷⁶ and said²⁰³⁶ to Peter,⁴⁰⁷⁴ Surely²³⁰ thou⁴⁷⁷¹ also²⁵³² art¹⁴⁸⁸ one of¹⁵³⁷ them;⁸⁴⁶ for¹⁰⁶³ thy⁴⁶⁷⁵ speech²⁹⁸¹ betrayeth^{4160 1212} thee.⁴⁵⁷¹

74  Then⁵¹¹⁹ began⁷⁵⁶ he to curse²⁶⁵³ and²⁵³² to swear,³⁶⁶⁰ saying, I know¹⁴⁹² not³⁷⁵⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ man.⁴⁴⁴ And²⁵³² immediately²¹¹² the cock²²⁰ crew.⁵⁴⁵⁵

75  And²⁵³² Peter⁴⁰⁷⁴ remembered³⁴¹⁵ the³⁵⁸⁸ word⁴⁴⁸⁷ of Jesus,²⁴²⁴ which said²⁰⁴⁶ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Before⁴²⁵⁰ the cock²²⁰ crow,⁵⁴⁵⁵ thou shalt deny⁵³³ me³¹⁶⁵ thrice.⁵¹⁵¹ And²⁵³² he went¹⁸³¹ out,¹⁸⁵⁴ and wept²⁷⁹⁹ bitterly.⁴⁰⁹⁰

2 Scitis quia post biduum Pascha fiet, et Filius hominis tradetur ut crucifigatur.

3 Tunc congregati sunt principes sacerdotum, et seniores populi, in atrium principis sacerdotum, qui dicebatur Caiphas:

4 et consilium fecerunt ut Jesum dolo tenerent, et occiderent.

5 Dicebant autem: Non in die festo, ne forte tumultus fieret in populo.

6 Cum autem Jesus esset in Bethania in domo Simonis leprosi,

7 accessit ad eum mulier habens alabastrum unguenti pretiosi, et effudit super caput ipsius recumbentis.

8 Videntes autem discipuli, indignati sunt, dicentes: Ut quid perditio hæc?

9 potuit enim istud venundari multo, et dari pauperibus.

10 Sciens autem Jesus, ait illis: Quid molesti estis huic mulieri? opus enim bonum operata est in me.

11 Nam semper pauperes habetis vobiscum: me autem non semper habetis.

12 Mittens enim hæc unguentum hoc in corpus meum, ad sepeliendum me fecit.

13 Amen dico vobis, ubicumque prædicatum fuerit hoc Evangelium in toto mundo, dicetur et quod hæc fecit in memoriam ejus.

14 Tunc abiit unus de duodecim, qui dicebatur Judas Iscariotes, ad principes sacerdotum:

15 et ait illis: Quid vultis mihi dare, et ego vobis eum tradam? At illi constituerunt ei triginta argenteos.

16 Et exinde quærebat opportunitatem ut eum traderet.

17 Prima autem die azymorum accesserunt discipuli ad Jesum, dicentes: Ubi vis paremus tibi comedere Pascha?

18 At Jesus dixit: Ite in civitatem ad quemdam, et dicite ei: Magister dicit: Tempus meum prope est, apud te facio Pascha cum discipulis meis.

19 Et fecerunt discipuli sicut constituit illis Jesus, et paraverunt Pascha.

20 Vespere autem facto, discumbebat cum duodecim discipulis suis.

21 Et edentibus illis, dixit: Amen dico vobis, quia unus vestrum me traditurus est.

22 Et contristati valde, cœperunt singuli dicere: Numquid ego sum Domine?

23 At ipse respondens, ait: Qui intingit mecum manum in paropside, hic me tradet.

24 Filius quidem hominis vadit, sicut scriptum est de illo: væ autem homini illi, per quem Filius hominis tradetur! bonum erat ei, si natus non fuisset homo ille.

25 Respondens autem Judas, qui tradidit eum, dixit: Numquid ego sum Rabbi? Ait illi: Tu dixisti.

26 Cœnantibus autem eis, accepit Jesus panem, et benedixit, ac fregit, deditque discipulis suis, et ait: Accipite, et comedite: hoc est corpus meum.

27 Et accipiens calicem, gratias egit: et dedit illis, dicens: Bibite ex hoc omnes.

28 Hic est enim sanguis meus novi testamenti, qui pro multis effundetur in remissionem peccatorum.

29 Dico autem vobis: non bibam amodo de hoc genimine vitis usque in diem illum, cum illud bibam vobiscum novum in regno Patris mei.

30 Et hymno dicto, exierunt in montem Oliveti.

31 Tunc dicit illis Jesus: Omnes vos scandalum patiemini in me in ista nocte. Scriptum est enim: Percutiam pastorem, et dispergentur oves gregis.

32 Postquam autem resurrexero, præcedam vos in Galilæam.

33 Respondens autem Petrus, ait illi: Et si omnes scandalizati fuerint in te, ego numquam scandalizabor.

34 Ait illi Jesus: Amen dico tibi, quia in hac nocte, antequam gallus cantet, ter me negabis.

35 Ait illi Petrus: Etiamsi oportuerit me mori tecum, non te negabo. Similiter et omnes discipuli dixerunt.

36 Tunc venit Jesus cum illis in villam, quæ dicitur Gethsemani, et dixit discipulis suis: Sedete hic donec vadam illuc, et orem.

37 Et assumpto Petro, et duobus filiis Zebedæi, cœpit contristari et mœstus esse.

38 Tunc ait illis: Tristis est anima mea usque ad mortem: sustinete hic, et vigilate mecum.

39 Et progressus pusillum, procidit in faciem suam, orans, et dicens: Pater mi, si possibile est, transeat a me calix iste: verumtamen non sicut ego volo, sed sicut tu.

40 Et venit ad discipulos suos, et invenit eos dormientes, et dicit Petro: Sic non potuistis una hora vigilare mecum?

41 Vigilate, et orate ut non intretis in tentationem. Spiritus quidem promptus est, caro autem infirma.

42 Iterum secundo abiit, et oravit, dicens: Pater mi, si non potest hic calix transire nisi bibam illum, fiat voluntas tua.

43 Et venit iterum, et invenit eos dormientes: erant enim oculi eorum gravati.

44 Et relictis illis, iterum abiit, et oravit tertio, eumdem sermonem dicens.

45 Tunc venit ad discipulos suos, et dicit illis: Dormite jam, et requiescite: ecce appropinquavit hora, et Filius hominis tradetur in manus peccatorum.

46 Surgite, eamus: ecce appropinquavit qui me tradet.

47 Adhuc eo loquente, ecce Judas unus de duodecim venit, et cum eo turba multa cum gladiis et fustibus, missi a principibus sacerdotum, et senioribus populi.

48 Qui autem tradidit eum, dedit illis signum, dicens: Quemcumque osculatus fuero, ipse est, tenete eum.

49 Et confestim accedens ad Jesum, dixit: Ave Rabbi. Et osculatus est eum.

50 Dixitque illi Jesus: Amice, ad quid venisti? Tunc accesserunt, et manus injecerunt in Jesum, et tenuerunt eum.

51 Et ecce unus ex his qui erant cum Jesu, extendens manum, exemit gladium suum, et percutiens servum principis sacerdotum amputavit auriculam ejus.

52 Tunc ait illi Jesus: Converte gladium tuum in locum suum: omnes enim, qui acceperint gladium, gladio peribunt.

53 An putas, quia non possum rogare patrem meum, et exhibebit mihi modo plusquam duodecim legiones angelorum?

54 Quomodo ergo implebuntur Scripturæ, quia sic oportet fieri?

55 In illa hora dixit Jesus turbis: Tamquam ad latronem existis cum gladiis et fustibus comprehendere me: quotidie apud vos sedebam docens in templo, et non me tenuistis.

56 Hoc autem totum factum est, ut adimplerentur Scripturæ prophetarum. Tunc discipuli omnes, relicto eo, fugerunt.

57 At illi tenentes Jesum, duxerunt ad Caipham principem sacerdotum, ubi scribæ et seniores convenerant.

58 Petrus autem sequebatur eum a longe, usque in atrium principis sacerdotum. Et ingressus intro, sedebat cum ministris, ut videret finem.

59 Principes autem sacerdotum, et omne concilium, quærebant falsum testimonium contra Jesum, ut eum morti traderent:

60 et non invenerunt, cum multi falsi testes accessissent. Novissime autem venerunt duo falsi testes,

61 et dixerunt: Hic dixit: Possum destruere templum Dei, et post triduum reædificare illud.

62 Et surgens princeps sacerdotum, ait illi: Nihil respondes ad ea, quæ isti adversum te testificantur?

63 Jesus autem tacebat. Et princeps sacerdotum ait illi: Adjuro te per Deum vivum, ut dicas nobis si tu es Christus Filius Dei.

64 Dicit illi Jesus: Tu dixisti. Verumtamen dico vobis, amodo videbitis Filium hominis sedentem a dextris virtutis Dei, et venientem in nubibus cæli.

65 Tunc princeps sacerdotum scidit vestimenta sua, dicens: Blasphemavit: quid adhuc egemus testibus? ecce nunc audistis blasphemiam:

66 quid vobis videtur? At illi respondentes dixerunt: Reus est mortis.

67 Tunc exspuerunt in faciem ejus, et colaphis eum ceciderunt, alii autem palmas in faciem ejus dederunt,

68 dicentes: Prophetiza nobis Christe, quis est qui te percussit?

69 Petrus vero sedebat foris in atrio: et accessit ad eum una ancilla, dicens: Et tu cum Jesu Galilæo eras.

70 At ille negavit coram omnibus, dicens: Nescio quid dicis.

71 Exeunte autem illo januam, vidit eum alia ancilla, et ait his qui erant ibi: Et hic erat cum Jesu Nazareno.

72 Et iterum negavit cum juramento: Quia non novi hominem.

73 Et post pusillum accesserunt qui stabant, et dixerunt Petro: Vere et tu ex illis es: nam et loquela tua manifestum te facit.

74 Tunc cœpit detestari et jurare quia non novisset hominem. Et continuo gallus cantavit.

75 Et recordatus est Petrus verbi Jesu, quod dixerat: Priusquam gallus cantet, ter me negabis. Et egressus foras, flevit amare.
