Le Livre d'Osée
Chapître 11
- 1
- When Israel [was] a child, then I loved4 him, and called1 my son out of Egypt.
- 2
- [As] they called1 them, so they went1 from them: they sacrificed17 unto Baalim, and burned incense17 to graven images.
- 3
- I taught Ephraim also to go,95 taking2 them by their arms; but they knew1 not that I healed1 them.
- 4
- I drew4 them with cords of a man, with bands of love: and I was to them as they that take off56 the yoke on their jaws, and I laid55 meat55 unto them.
- 5
- He shall not return4 into the land of Egypt, but the Assyrian shall be his king, because they refused14 to return.2
- 6
- And the sword shall abide1 on his cities, and shall consume14 his branches, and devour1 [them], because of their own counsels.
- 7
- And my people are bent7 to backsliding from me: though they called4 them to the most High, none at all would exalt34 [him].
- 8
- How shall I give thee up,4 Ephraim? [how] shall I deliver17 thee, Israel? how shall I make4 thee as Admah? [how] shall I set4 thee as Zeboim? mine heart is turned8 within me, my repentings are kindled8 together.
- 9
- I will not execute4 the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return4 to destroy15 Ephraim: for I [am] God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter4 into the city.
- 10
- They shall walk4 after the LORD: he shall roar4 like a lion: when he shall roar,4 then the children shall tremble4 from the west.
- 11
- They shall tremble4 as a bird out of Egypt, and as a dove out of the land of Assyria: and I will place52 them in their houses, saith7 the LORD.
- 12
- Ephraim compasseth me about1 with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Judah yet ruleth1 with God, and is faithful12 with the saints.
