Le Livre des Psaumes
Chapître 137
- 1
- By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down,1 yea, we wept,1 when we remembered2 Zion.
- 2
- We hanged1 our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof.
- 3
- For there they that carried us away captive6 required1 of us a song; 7892 and they that wasted us [required of us] mirth, [saying], Sing3 us [one] of the songs of Zion.
- 4
- How shall we sing4 the LORD'S song in a strange land?
- 5
- If I forget4 thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget4 [her cunning].
- 6
- If I do not remember4 thee, let my tongue cleave4 to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer55 not Jerusalem above my chief joy.
- 7
- Remember,3 O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said,6 Rase16 [it], rase16 [it, even] to the foundation thereof.
- 8
- O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed;7 happy [shall he be], that rewardeth17 thee as thou hast served1 1576 us.
- 9
- Happy [shall he be], that taketh4 and dasheth14 thy little ones against the stones.
