Chapître 54

1

To the chief Musician¹⁸ on Neginoth, Maschil, ^{7919 56} [A Psalm] of David, when the Ziphims came² and said⁴ to Saul, Doth not David hide¹⁰² himself with us?
Save⁵⁴ me, O God, by thy name, and judge⁴ me by thy strength.

 Hear³ my prayer, O God; give ear⁵⁴ to the words of my mouth.

For strangers⁵ are risen up¹ against me, and oppressors seek¹⁴ after my soul: they have not set¹ God before them. Selah.

Behold, God [is] mine helper:⁶ the Lord [is] with them that uphold⁶ my soul.

He shall reward^{55 7725 4} evil unto mine enemies:⁶ cut them off⁵⁴ in thy truth.

I will freely sacrifice⁴ unto thee: I will praise⁵⁵ thy name, O LORD; for [it is] good.

For he hath delivered⁵² me out of all trouble: and mine eye hath seen¹ [his desire] upon mine enemies.⁶
