Chapître 30

1

A Psalm [and] Song [at] the dedication of the house of David.
I will extol³⁴ thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up,¹⁴ and hast not made my foes⁶ to rejoice¹⁴ over me.

2

O LORD my God, I cried¹⁴ unto thee, and thou hast healed⁴ me.

O LORD, thou hast brought up⁵² my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive,¹⁴ that I should not go down^{2 3381 6} to the pit.

 Sing¹⁶ unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks⁵⁴ at the remembrance of his holiness.

For his anger [endureth but] a moment; in his favour [is] life: weeping may endure⁴ for a night, but joy [cometh] in the morning.

And in my prosperity I said,¹ I shall never ⁵⁷⁶⁹ be moved.¹¹

 LORD, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand⁵² strong: thou didst hide⁵² thy face, [and] I was troubled.¹²

I cried⁴ to thee, O LORD; and unto the LORD I made supplication.¹⁰¹

9

What profit [is there] in my blood, when I go down² to the pit? Shall the dust praise⁵⁵ thee? shall it declare⁵⁵ thy truth?

10

 Hear,³ O LORD, and have mercy³ upon me: LORD, be thou my helper.⁶

11

Thou hast turned¹ for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off¹⁴ my sackcloth, and girded¹⁷ me with gladness;

12

To the end that [my] glory may sing praise¹⁷ to thee, and not be silent.⁴ O LORD my God, I will give thanks⁵⁵ unto thee for ever.
