Matthew 14

GNT

31 εὐθέως δὲ ὁ ἰησοῦς ἐκτείνας τὴν χεῖρα ἐπελάβετο αὐτοῦ καὶ λέγει αὐτῶ, ὀλιγόπιστε, εἰς τί ἐδίστασας;

5  And2532 when he would2309 have put him to death,615 846 he feared5399 the3588 multitude,3793 because3754 they counted2192 him846 as5613 a prophet.4396

6  But1161 when Herod's2264 birthday1077 was kept,71 the3588 daughter2364 of Herodias2266 danced3738 before them,1722 3319 and2532 pleased700 Herod.2264

12  And2532 his846 disciples3101 came,4334 and took up142 the3588 body,4983 and2532 buried2290 it,846 and2532 went2064 and told518 Jesus.2424

13  When2532 Jesus2424 heard191 of it, he departed402 thence1564 by1722 ship4143 into1519 a desert2048 place5117 apart:2596 2398 and2532 when the3588 people3793 had heard191 thereof, they followed190 him846 on foot3979 out of575 the3588 cities.4172

14  And2532 Jesus2424 went forth,1831 and saw1492 a great4183 multitude,3793 and2532 was moved with compassion4697 toward1909 them,846 and2532 he healed2323 their846 sick.732

15  And1161 when it was1096 evening,3798 his846 disciples3101 came4334 to him,846 saying,3004 This is2076 a desert2048 place,5117 and2532 the3588 time5610 is now2235 past;3928 send the multitude away,630 3588 3793 that2443 they may go565 into1519 the3588 villages,2968 and2532 buy59 themselves1438 victuals.1033

16  But1161 Jesus2424 said2036 unto them,846 They need2192 5532 not3756 depart;565 give1325 ye5210 them846 to eat.5315

17  And1161 they3588 say3004 unto him,846 We have2192 3756 here5602 but1508 five4002 loaves,740 and2532 two1417 fishes.2486

18  1161 He3588 said,2036 Bring5342 them846 hither5602 to me.3427

19  And2532 he commanded2753 the3588 multitude3793 to sit down347 on1909 the3588 grass,5528 and2532 took2983 the3588 five4002 loaves,740 and2532 the3588 two1417 fishes,2486 and looking up308 to1519 heaven,3772 he blessed,2127 and2532 broke,2806 and2532 gave1325 the3588 loaves740 to his disciples,3101 and1161 the3588 disciples3101 to the3588 multitude.3793

20  And2532 they did all3956 eat,5315 and2532 were filled:5526 and2532 they took up142 of the3588 fragments2801 that remained4052 twelve1427 baskets2894 full.4134

21  And1161 they that had eaten2068 were2258 about5616 five thousand4000 men,435 beside5565 women1135 and2532 children.3813

22  And2532 straightway2112 Jesus2424 constrained315 his848 disciples3101 to get1684 into1519 a ship,4143 and2532 to gobefore4254 him846 unto1519 the3588 other side,4008 while2193 3739 he sent the multitudes away.630 3588 3793

23  And2532 when he had sent the multitudes away,630 3588 3793 he went up305 into1519 a mountain3735 apart2596 2398 to pray:4336 and1161 when the evening3798 was come,1096 he was2258 there1563 alone.3441

24  But1161 the3588 ship4143 was2258 now2235 in the midst3319 of the3588 sea,2281 tossed928 with5259 waves:2949 for1063 the3588 wind417 was2258 contrary.1727

25  And1161 in the fourth5067 watch5438 of the3588 night3571 Jesus2424 went565 unto4314 them,846 walking4043 on1909 the3588 sea.2281

26  And2532 when the3588 disciples3101 saw1492 him846 walking4043 on1909 the3588 sea,2281 they were troubled,5015 saying,3004 It is2076 a spirit;5326 and2532 they cried out2896 for575 fear.5401

27  But1161 straightway2112 Jesus2424 spake2980 unto them,846 saying,3004 Be of good cheer;2293 it is1510 I;1473 be not afraid.5399 3361

28  And1161 Peter4074 answered611 him846 and said,2036 Lord,2962 if1487 it be1488 thou,4771 bid2753 me3165 come2064 unto4314 thee4571 on1909 the3588 water.5204

29  And1161 he3588 said,2036 Come. And2064 2532 when Peter4074 was come down2597 out of575 the3588 ship,4143 he walked4043 on1909 the3588 water,5204 to go2064 to4314 Jesus.2424

30  But1161 when he saw991 the3588 wind417 boisterous,2478 he was afraid;5399 and2532 beginning756 to sink,2670 he cried,2896 saying,3004 Lord,2962 save4982 me.3165

31  And1161 immediately2112 Jesus2424 stretched forth1614 his hand,5495 and caught1949 him,846 and2532 said3004 unto him,846 O thou of little faith,3640 wherefore1519 5101 didst thou doubt?1365

32  And2532 when they846 were come1684 into1519 the3588 ship,4143 the3588 wind417 ceased.2869

33  Then1161 they3588 that were in1722 the3588 ship4143 came2064 and worshiped4352 him,846 saying,3004 Of a truth230 thou art1488 the Son5207 of God.2316

35  And2532 when the3588 men435 of that1565 place5117 had knowledge1921 of him,846 they sent out649 into1519 all3650 that1565 country round about,4066 and2532 brought4374 unto him846 all3956 that were diseased;2192 2560

Vul

1 In illo tempore audivit Herodes tetrarcha famam Jesu:

8 At illa præmonita a matre sua: Da mihi, inquit, hic in disco caput Joannis Baptistæ.

29 At ipse ait: Veni.
