Matthew 12

GNT

3 ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς, οὐκ ἀνέγνωτε τί ἐποίησεν δαυὶδ ὅτε ἐπείνασεν καὶ οἱ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ;

4 πῶς εἰσῆλθεν εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ τοὺς ἄρτους τῆς προθέσεως ἔφαγον, ὃ οὐκ ἐξὸν ἦν αὐτῶ φαγεῖν οὐδὲ τοῖς μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ, εἰ μὴ τοῖς ἱερεῦσιν μόνοις;

5 ἢ οὐκ ἀνέγνωτε ἐν τῶ νόμῳ ὅτι τοῖς σάββασιν οἱ ἱερεῖς ἐν τῶ ἱερῶ τὸ σάββατον βεβηλοῦσιν καὶ ἀναίτιοί εἰσιν;

11 ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς, τίς ἔσται ἐξ ὑμῶν ἄνθρωπος ὃς ἕξει πρόβατον ἕν, καὶ ἐὰν ἐμπέσῃ τοῦτο τοῖς σάββασιν εἰς βόθυνον, οὐχὶ κρατήσει αὐτὸ καὶ ἐγερεῖ;

23 καὶ ἐξίσταντο πάντες οἱ ὄχλοι καὶ ἔλεγον, μήτι οὖτός ἐστιν ὁ υἱὸς δαυίδ;

26 καὶ εἰ ὁ σατανᾶς τὸν σατανᾶν ἐκβάλλει, ἐφ᾽ ἑαυτὸν ἐμερίσθη· πῶς οὗν σταθήσεται ἡ βασιλεία αὐτοῦ;

48 ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν τῶ λέγοντι αὐτῶ, τίς ἐστιν ἡ μήτηρ μου, καὶ τίνες εἰσὶν οἱ ἀδελφοί μου;

1  At1722 that1565 time2540 Jesus2424 went4198 on the3588 sabbath day4521 through1223 the3588 corn;4702 and2532 his846 disciples3101 were hungry,3983 and2532 began756 to pluck5089 the ears of corn,4719 and2532 to eat.2068

2  But1161 when the3588 Pharisees5330 saw1492 it, they said2036 unto him,846 Behold,2400 thy4675 disciples3101 do4160 that which3739 is not lawful1832 3756 to do4160 upon1722 the sabbath day.4521

3  But1161 he3588 said2036 unto them,846 Have ye not3756 read314 what5101 David1138 did,4160 when3753 he846 was hungry,3983 and2532 they3588 that were with3326 him;846

4  How4459 he entered1525 into1519 the3588 house3624 of God,2316 and2532 did eat5315 the3588 shewbread,740 4286 which3739 was2258 not3756 lawful1832 for him846 to eat,5315 neither3761 for them3588 which were with3326 him,846 but1508 only3441 for the3588 priests2409

5  Or2228 have ye not3756 read314 in1722 the3588 law,3551 how3754 that on the3588 sabbath days4521 the3588 priests2409 in1722 the3588 temple2411 profane953 the3588 sabbath,4521 and2532 are1526 blameless338

6  But1161 I say3004 unto you,5213 That3754 in this place5602 is2076 one greater3187 than the3588 temple.2411

7  But1161 if1487 ye had known1097 what5101 this meaneth,2076 I will2309 have mercy,1656 and2532 not3756 sacrifice,2378 ye would not3756 have condemned2613 the3588 guiltless.338

8  For1063 the3588 Son5207 of man444 is2076 Lord2962 even2532 of the3588 sabbath day.4521

9  And2532 when he was departed3327 thence,1564 he went2064 into1519 their846 synagogue:4864

10  And,2532 behold,2400 there was2258 a man444 which had2192 his hand5495 withered.3584 And2532 they asked1905 him,846 saying,3004 1487 Is it lawful1832 to heal2323 on the3588 sabbath days?4521 that2443 they might accuse2723 him.846

11  And1161 he3588 said2036 unto them,846 What5101 man444 shall there be2071 among1537 you,5216 that3739 shall have2192 one1520 sheep,4263 and2532 if1437 it5124 fall1706 into1519 a pit999 on the3588 sabbath day,4521 will he not3780 lay hold2902 on it,846 and2532 lift it out?1453

12  How much4214 then3767 is a man better1308 444 than a sheep?4263 Wherefore5620 it is lawful1832 to do4160 well2573 on the3588 sabbath days.4521

13  Then5119 saith3004 he to the3588 man,444 Stretch forth1614 thine4675 hand. And5495 he2532 stretched it forth;1614 and2532 it was restored600 whole,5199 like as5613 the3588 other.243

14  Then1161 the3588 Pharisees5330 went out,1831 and held2983 a council4824 against2596 him,846 how3704 they might destroy622 him.846

15  But1161 when Jesus2424 knew1097 it, he withdrew402 himself from thence:1564 and2532 great4183 multitudes3793 followed190 him,846 and2532 he healed2323 them846 all;3956

16  And2532 charged2008 them846 that2443 they should not3361 make4160 him846 known:5318

17  That3704 it might be fulfilled4137 which was spoken4483 by1223 Isaiah2268 the3588 prophet,4396 saying,3004

18  Behold2400 my3450 servant,3816 whom3739 I have chosen;140 my3450 beloved,27 in1519 whom3739 my1519 soul5590 is well pleased:2106 I will put5087 my3450 spirit4151 upon1909 him,846 and2532 he shall show518 judgment2920 to the3588 Gentiles.1484

19  He shall not3756 strive,2051 nor3761 cry;2905 neither3761 shall any man5100 hear191 his846 voice5456 in1722 the3588 streets.4113

20  A bruised4937 reed2563 shall he not3756 break,2608 and2532 smoking5188 flax3043 shall he not3756 quench,4570 till2193 302 he send forth1544 judgment2920 unto1519 victory.3534

21  And2532 in1722 his846 name3686 shall the Gentiles1484 trust.1679

22  Then5119 was brought4374 unto him846 one possessed with a devil,1139 blind,5185 and2532 dumb:2974 and2532 he healed2323 him,846 insomuch that5620 the3588 blind5185 and2532 dumb2974 both2532 spake2980 and2532 saw.191

23  And2532 all3956 the3588 people3793 were amazed,1839 and2532 said,3004 Is2076 not3385 this3778 the3588 son5207 of David?1138

24  But1161 when the3588 Pharisees5330 heard191 it, they said,2036 This3778 fellow doth not3756 cast out1544 devils,1140 but1508 by1722 Beelzebub954 the prince758 of the3588 devils.1140

25  And1161 Jesus2424 knew1492 their846 thoughts,1761 and said2036 unto them,846 Every3956 kingdom932 divided3307 against2596 itself1438 is brought to desolation;2049 and2532 every3956 city4172 or2228 house3614 divided3307 against2596 itself1438 shall not3756 stand:2476

26  And2532 if1487 Satan4567 cast out1544 Satan,4567 he is divided3307 against1909 himself;1438 how4459 shall then3767 his846 kingdom932 stand?2476

27  And2532 if1487 I1473 by1722 Beelzebub954 cast out1544 devils,1140 by1722 whom5101 do your5216 children5207 cast them out?1544 therefore1223 5124 they846 shall be2071 your5216 judges.2923

28  But1161 if1487 I1473 cast out1544 devils1140 by1722 the Spirit4151 of God,2316 then686 the3588 kingdom932 of God2316 is come5348 unto1909 you.5209

29  Or else2228 how4459 can1410 one5100 enter1525 into1519 a strong man's2478 house,3614 and2532 spoil1283 his846 goods,4632 except3362 he first4412 bind1210 the3588 strong man2478 and2532 then5119 he will spoil1283 his846 house.3614

30  He that is5607 not3361 with3326 me1700 is2076 against2596 me;1700 and2532 he that gathereth4863 not3361 with3326 me1700 scattereth abroad.4650

31  Wherefore1223 5124 I say3004 unto you,5213 All manner3956 of sin266 and2532 blasphemy988 shall be forgiven863 unto men:444 but1161 the3588 blasphemy988 against the3588 Holy Ghost4151 shall not3756 be forgiven863 unto men.444

32  And2532 whosoever3739 302 speaketh2036 a word3056 against2596 the3588 Son5207 of man,444 it shall be forgiven863 him:846 but1161 whosoever3739 302 speaketh2036 against2596 the3588 Holy40 Ghost,4151 it shall not3756 be forgiven863 him,846 neither3777 in1722 this5129 world,165 neither3777 in1722 the3588 world to come.3195

33  Either2228 make4160 the3588 tree1186 good,2570 and2532 his846 fruit2590 good;2570 or else2228 make4160 the3588 tree1186 corrupt,4550 and2532 his846 fruit2590 corrupt:4550 for1063 the3588 tree1186 is known1097 by1537 his fruit.2590

34  O generation1081 of vipers,2191 how4459 can1410 ye, being5607 evil,4190 speak2980 good things?18 for1063 out1537 of the3588 abundance4051 of the3588 heart2588 the3588 mouth4750 speaketh.2980

35  A good18 man444 out1537 of the3588 good18 treasure2344 of the3588 heart2588 bringeth forth1544 good things:18 and2532 an evil4190 man444 out of1537 the3588 evil4190 treasure2344 bringeth forth1544 evil things.4190

36  But1161 I say3004 unto you,5213 That3754 every3956 idle692 word4487 that3739 1437 men444 shall speak,2980 they shall give591 account3056 thereof4012 846 in1722 the day2250 of judgment.2920

37  For1063 by1537 thy4675 words3056 thou shalt be justified,1344 and2532 by1537 thy4675 words3056 thou shalt be condemned.2613

38  Then5119 certain5100 of the3588 scribes1122 and2532 of the Pharisees5330 answered,611 saying,3004 Master,1320 we would2309 see1492 a sign4592 from575 thee.4675

39  But1161 he3588 answered611 and said2036 unto them,846 An evil4190 and2532 adulterous3428 generation1074 seeketh after1934 a sign;4592 and2532 there shall no3756 sign4592 be given1325 to it,846 but1508 the3588 sign4592 of the3588 prophet4396 Jonah:2495

40  For1063 as5618 Jonah2495 was2258 three5140 days2250 and2532 three5140 nights3571 in1722 the3588 whale's2785 belly;2836 so3779 shall the3588 Son5207 of man444 be2071 three5140 days2250 and2532 three5140 nights3571 in1722 the3588 heart2588 of the3588 earth.1093

41  The men435 of Nineveh3536 shall rise450 in1722 judgment2920 with3326 this5026 generation,1074 and2532 shall condemn2632 it:846 because3754 they repented3340 at1519 the3588 preaching2782 of Jonah;2495 and,2532 behold,2400 a greater4119 than Jonah2495 is here.5602

42  The queen938 of the south3558 shall rise up1453 in1722 the3588 judgment2920 with3326 this5026 generation,1074 and2532 shall condemn2632 it:846 for3754 she came2064 from1537 the3588 uttermost parts4009 of the3588 earth1093 to hear191 the3588 wisdom4678 of Solomon;4672 and,2532 behold,2400 a greater4119 than Solomon4672 is here.5602

43  When3752 the3588 unclean169 spirit4151 is gone1831 out of575 a man,444 he walketh1330 through1223 dry504 places,5117 seeking2212 rest,372 and2532 findeth2147 none.3756

44  Then5119 he saith,3004 I will return1994 into1519 my3450 house3624 from whence3606 I came out;1831 and2532 when he is come,2064 he findeth2147 it empty,4980 swept,4563 and2532 garnished.2885

45  Then5119 goeth4198 he, and2532 taketh3880 with3326 himself1438 seven2033 other2087 spirits4151 more wicked4191 than himself,1438 and2532 they enter in1525 and dwell2730 there:1563 and2532 the3588 last2078 state of that1565 man444 is1096 worse5501 than the3588 first.4413 Even so3779 shall it be2071 also2532 unto this5026 wicked4190 generation.1074

46  While1161 he846 yet2089 talked2980 to the3588 people,3793 behold,2400 his mother3384 and2532 his846 brethren80 stood2476 without,1854 desiring2212 to speak2980 with him.846

47  Then1161 one5100 said2036 unto him,846 Behold,2400 thy4675 mother3384 and2532 thy4675 brethren80 stand2476 without,1854 desiring2212 to speak2980 with thee.4671

48  But1161 he3588 answered611 and said2036 unto him that told2036 him,846 Who5101 is2076 my3450 mother?3384 and2532 who5101 are1526 my3450 brethren?80

49  And2532 he stretched forth1614 his848 hand5495 toward1909 his848 disciples,3101 and said,2036 Behold2400 my3450 mother3384 and2532 my3450 brethren!80

50  For1063 whosoever3748 shall do4160 the3588 will2307 of my3450 Father3962 which3588 is in1722 heaven,3772 the same846 is2076 my3450 brother,80 and2532 sister,79 and2532 mother.3384

13 Tunc ait homini: Extende manum tuam.

18 [Ecce puer meus, quem elegi, dilectus meus,
in quo bene complacuit animæ meæ.
Ponam spiritum meum super eum,

44 Tunc dicit: Revertar in domum meam, unde exivi.
