1 ἀναβλέψας δὲ εἶδεν τοὺς βάλλοντας εἰς τὸ γαζοφυλάκιον τὰ δῶρα αὐτῶν πλουσίους.

2 εἶδεν δέ τινα χήραν πενιχρὰν βάλλουσαν ἐκεῖ λεπτὰ δύο,

3 καὶ εἶπεν, ἀληθῶς λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι ἡ χήρα αὕτη ἡ πτωχὴ πλεῖον πάντων ἔβαλεν·

4 πάντες γὰρ οὖτοι ἐκ τοῦ περισσεύοντος αὐτοῖς ἔβαλον εἰς τὰ δῶρα, αὕτη δὲ ἐκ τοῦ ὑστερήματος αὐτῆς πάντα τὸν βίον ὃν εἶχεν ἔβαλεν.

5 καί τινων λεγόντων περὶ τοῦ ἱεροῦ, ὅτι λίθοις καλοῖς καὶ ἀναθήμασιν κεκόσμηται, εἶπεν,

6 ταῦτα ἃ θεωρεῖτε, ἐλεύσονται ἡμέραι ἐν αἷς οὐκ ἀφεθήσεται λίθος ἐπὶ λίθῳ ὃς οὐ καταλυθήσεται.

7 ἐπηρώτησαν δὲ αὐτὸν λέγοντες, διδάσκαλε, πότε οὗν ταῦτα ἔσται, καὶ τί τὸ σημεῖον ὅταν μέλλῃ ταῦτα γίνεσθαι;

8 ὁ δὲ εἶπεν, βλέπετε μὴ πλανηθῆτε· πολλοὶ γὰρ ἐλεύσονται ἐπὶ τῶ ὀνόματί μου λέγοντες, ἐγώ εἰμι· καί, ὁ καιρὸς ἤγγικεν· μὴ πορευθῆτε ὀπίσω αὐτῶν.

9 ὅταν δὲ ἀκούσητε πολέμους καὶ ἀκαταστασίας, μὴ πτοηθῆτε· δεῖ γὰρ ταῦτα γενέσθαι πρῶτον, ἀλλ᾽ οὐκ εὐθέως τὸ τέλος.

10 τότε ἔλεγεν αὐτοῖς, ἐγερθήσεται ἔθνος ἐπ᾽ ἔθνος καὶ βασιλεία ἐπὶ βασιλείαν,

11 σεισμοί τε μεγάλοι καὶ κατὰ τόπους λιμοὶ καὶ λοιμοὶ ἔσονται, φόβητρά τε καὶ ἀπ᾽ οὐρανοῦ σημεῖα μεγάλα ἔσται.

12 πρὸ δὲ τούτων πάντων ἐπιβαλοῦσιν ἐφ᾽ ὑμᾶς τὰς χεῖρας αὐτῶν καὶ διώξουσιν, παραδιδόντες εἰς τὰς συναγωγὰς καὶ φυλακάς, ἀπαγομένους ἐπὶ βασιλεῖς καὶ ἡγεμόνας ἕνεκεν τοῦ ὀνόματός μου·

13 ἀποβήσεται ὑμῖν εἰς μαρτύριον.

14 θέτε οὗν ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις ὑμῶν μὴ προμελετᾶν ἀπολογηθῆναι,

15 ἐγὼ γὰρ δώσω ὑμῖν στόμα καὶ σοφίαν ᾗ οὐ δυνήσονται ἀντιστῆναι ἢ ἀντειπεῖν ἅπαντες οἱ ἀντικείμενοι ὑμῖν.

16 παραδοθήσεσθε δὲ καὶ ὑπὸ γονέων καὶ ἀδελφῶν καὶ συγγενῶν καὶ φίλων, καὶ θανατώσουσιν ἐξ ὑμῶν,

17 καὶ ἔσεσθε μισούμενοι ὑπὸ πάντων διὰ τὸ ὄνομά μου.

18 καὶ θρὶξ ἐκ τῆς κεφαλῆς ὑμῶν οὐ μὴ ἀπόληται.

19 ἐν τῇ ὑπομονῇ ὑμῶν κτήσασθε τὰς ψυχὰς ὑμῶν.

20 ὅταν δὲ ἴδητε κυκλουμένην ὑπὸ στρατοπέδων ἰερουσαλήμ, τότε γνῶτε ὅτι ἤγγικεν ἡ ἐρήμωσις αὐτῆς.

21 τότε οἱ ἐν τῇ ἰουδαίᾳ φευγέτωσαν εἰς τὰ ὄρη, καὶ οἱ ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῆς ἐκχωρείτωσαν, καὶ οἱ ἐν ταῖς χώραις μὴ εἰσερχέσθωσαν εἰς αὐτήν,

22 ὅτι ἡμέραι ἐκδικήσεως αὖταί εἰσιν τοῦ πλησθῆναι πάντα τὰ γεγραμμένα.

23 οὐαὶ ταῖς ἐν γαστρὶ ἐχούσαις καὶ ταῖς θηλαζούσαις ἐν ἐκείναις ταῖς ἡμέραις· ἔσται γὰρ ἀνάγκη μεγάλη ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς καὶ ὀργὴ τῶ λαῶ τούτῳ,

24 καὶ πεσοῦνται στόματι μαχαίρης καὶ αἰχμαλωτισθήσονται εἰς τὰ ἔθνη πάντα, καὶ ἰερουσαλὴμ ἔσται πατουμένη ὑπὸ ἐθνῶν, ἄχρι οὖ πληρωθῶσιν καιροὶ ἐθνῶν.

25 καὶ ἔσονται σημεῖα ἐν ἡλίῳ καὶ σελήνῃ καὶ ἄστροις, καὶ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς συνοχὴ ἐθνῶν ἐν ἀπορίᾳ ἤχους θαλάσσης καὶ σάλου,

26 ἀποψυχόντων ἀνθρώπων ἀπὸ φόβου καὶ προσδοκίας τῶν ἐπερχομένων τῇ οἰκουμένῃ, αἱ γὰρ δυνάμεις τῶν οὐρανῶν σαλευθήσονται.

27 καὶ τότε ὄψονται τὸν υἱὸν τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐρχόμενον ἐν νεφέλῃ μετὰ δυνάμεως καὶ δόξης πολλῆς.

28 ἀρχομένων δὲ τούτων γίνεσθαι ἀνακύψατε καὶ ἐπάρατε τὰς κεφαλὰς ὑμῶν, διότι ἐγγίζει ἡ ἀπολύτρωσις ὑμῶν.

29 καὶ εἶπεν παραβολὴν αὐτοῖς· ἴδετε τὴν συκῆν καὶ πάντα τὰ δένδρα·

30 ὅταν προβάλωσιν ἤδη, βλέποντες ἀφ᾽ ἑαυτῶν γινώσκετε ὅτι ἤδη ἐγγὺς τὸ θέρος ἐστίν·

31 οὕτως καὶ ὑμεῖς, ὅταν ἴδητε ταῦτα γινόμενα, γινώσκετε ὅτι ἐγγύς ἐστιν ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ.

32 ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι οὐ μὴ παρέλθῃ ἡ γενεὰ αὕτη ἕως ἂν πάντα γένηται.

33 ὁ οὐρανὸς καὶ ἡ γῆ παρελεύσονται, οἱ δὲ λόγοι μου οὐ μὴ παρελεύσονται.

34 προσέχετε δὲ ἑαυτοῖς μήποτε βαρηθῶσιν ὑμῶν αἱ καρδίαι ἐν κραιπάλῃ καὶ μέθῃ καὶ μερίμναις βιωτικαῖς, καὶ ἐπιστῇ ἐφ᾽ ὑμᾶς αἰφνίδιος ἡ ἡμέρα ἐκείνη

35 ὡς παγὶς. ἐπεισελεύσεται γὰρ ἐπὶ πάντας τοὺς καθημένους ἐπὶ πρόσωπον πάσης τῆς γῆς.

36 ἀγρυπνεῖτε δὲ ἐν παντὶ καιρῶ δεόμενοι ἵνα κατισχύσητε ἐκφυγεῖν ταῦτα πάντα τὰ μέλλοντα γίνεσθαι, καὶ σταθῆναι ἔμπροσθεν τοῦ υἱοῦ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου.

37 ἦν δὲ τὰς ἡμέρας ἐν τῶ ἱερῶ διδάσκων, τὰς δὲ νύκτας ἐξερχόμενος ηὐλίζετο εἰς τὸ ὄρος τὸ καλούμενον ἐλαιῶν·

38 καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς ὤρθριζεν πρὸς αὐτὸν ἐν τῶ ἱερῶ ἀκούειν αὐτοῦ.

1  And¹¹⁶¹ he looked up,³⁰⁸ and saw¹⁴⁹² the³⁵⁸⁸ rich men⁴¹⁴⁵ casting⁹⁰⁶ their⁸⁴⁸ gifts¹⁴³⁵ into¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ treasury.¹⁰⁴⁹

2  And¹¹⁶¹ he saw¹⁴⁹² also²⁵³² a certain⁵¹⁰⁰ poor³⁹⁹⁸ widow⁵⁵⁰³ casting in⁹⁰⁶ thither¹⁵⁶³ two¹⁴¹⁷ mites.³⁰¹⁶

3  And²⁵³² he said,²⁰³⁶ Of a truth²³⁰ I say³⁰⁰⁴ unto you,⁵²¹³ that³⁷⁵⁴ this³⁷⁷⁸ poor⁴⁴³⁴ widow⁵⁵⁰³ hath cast in⁹⁰⁶ more⁴¹¹⁹ than they all:³⁹⁵⁶

4  For¹⁰⁶³ all⁵³⁷ these³⁷⁷⁸ have of¹⁵³⁷ their⁸⁴⁶ abundance⁴⁰⁵² cast in⁹⁰⁶ unto¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ offerings¹⁴³⁵ of God:²³¹⁶ but¹¹⁶¹ she³⁷⁷⁸ of¹⁵³⁷ her⁸⁴⁸ penury⁵³⁰³ hath cast in⁹⁰⁶ all⁵³⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ living⁹⁷⁹ that³⁷³⁹ she had.²¹⁹²

5  And²⁵³² as some⁵¹⁰⁰ spake³⁰⁰⁴ of⁴⁰¹² the³⁵⁸⁸ temple,²⁴¹¹ how³⁷⁵⁴ it was adorned²⁸⁸⁵ with goodly²⁵⁷⁰ stones³⁰³⁷ and²⁵³² gifts,³³⁴ he said,²⁰³⁶

6  As for these things⁵⁰²³ which³⁷³⁹ ye behold,²³³⁴ the days²²⁵⁰ will come,²⁰⁶⁴ in¹⁷²² the which³⁷³⁹ there shall not³⁷⁵⁶ be left⁸⁶³ one stone upon another,^{3037 1909 3037} that³⁷³⁹ shall not³⁷⁵⁶ be thrown down.²⁶⁴⁷

7  And¹¹⁶¹ they asked¹⁹⁰⁵ him,⁸⁴⁶ saying,³⁰⁰⁴ Master,¹³²⁰ but when⁴²¹⁹ shall³⁷⁶⁷ these things⁵⁰²³ be?²⁰⁷¹ and²⁵³² what⁵¹⁰¹ sign⁴⁵⁹² will there be when³⁷⁵² these things⁵⁰²³ shall³¹⁹⁵ come to pass?¹⁰⁹⁶

8  And¹¹⁶¹ he³⁵⁸⁸ said,²⁰³⁶ Take heed⁹⁹¹ that ye be not³³⁶¹ deceived:⁴¹⁰⁵ for¹⁰⁶³ many⁴¹⁸³ shall come²⁰⁶⁴ in¹⁹⁰⁹ my³⁴⁵⁰ name,³⁶⁸⁶ saying,³⁰⁰⁴ I¹⁴⁷³ am¹⁵¹⁰ Christ; and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ time²⁵⁴⁰ draweth near:¹⁴⁴⁸ go⁴¹⁹⁸ ye not³³⁶¹ therefore³⁷⁶⁷ after³⁶⁹⁴ them.⁸⁴⁶

9  But¹¹⁶¹ when³⁷⁵² ye shall hear¹⁹¹ of wars⁴¹⁷¹ and²⁵³² commotions,¹⁸¹ be not³³⁶¹ terrified:⁴⁴²² for¹⁰⁶³ these things⁵⁰²³ must¹¹⁶³ first⁴⁴¹² come to pass;¹⁰⁹⁶ but²³⁵ the³⁵⁸⁸ end⁵⁰⁵⁶ is not³⁷⁵⁶ by and by.²¹¹²

10  Then⁵¹¹⁹ said³⁰⁰⁴ he unto them,⁸⁴⁶ Nation¹⁴⁸⁴ shall rise¹⁴⁵³ against¹⁹⁰⁹ nation,¹⁴⁸⁴ and²⁵³² kingdom⁹³² against¹⁹⁰⁹ kingdom:⁹³²

11  And⁵⁰³⁷ great³¹⁷³ earthquakes⁴⁵⁷⁸ shall be²⁰⁷¹ in divers places,^{2596 5117} and²⁵³² famines,³⁰⁴² and²⁵³² pestilences;³⁰⁶¹ and⁵⁰³⁷ fearful sights⁵⁴⁰⁰ and²⁵³² great³¹⁷³ signs⁴⁵⁹² shall there be²⁰⁷¹ from⁵⁷⁵ heaven.³⁷⁷²

12  But¹¹⁶¹ before⁴²⁵³ all⁵³⁷ these,⁵¹³⁰ they shall lay¹⁹¹¹ their⁸⁴⁸ hands⁵⁴⁹⁵ on¹⁹⁰⁹ you,⁵²⁰⁹ and²⁵³² persecute¹³⁷⁷ you, delivering you up³⁸⁶⁰ to¹⁵¹⁹ the synagogues,⁴⁸⁶⁴ and²⁵³² into prisons,⁵⁴³⁸ being brought⁷¹ before¹⁹⁰⁹ kings⁹³⁵ and²⁵³² rulers²²³² for my name's sake.^{1752 3450 3686}

13  And¹¹⁶¹ it shall turn⁵⁷⁶ to you⁵²¹³ for¹⁵¹⁹ a testimony.³¹⁴²

14  Settle⁵⁰⁸⁷ it therefore³⁷⁶⁷ in¹⁵¹⁹ your⁵²¹⁶ hearts,²⁵⁸⁸ not³³⁶¹ to meditate before⁴³⁰⁴ what ye shall answer:⁶²⁶

15  For¹⁰⁶³ I¹⁴⁷³ will give¹³²⁵ you⁵²¹³ a mouth⁴⁷⁵⁰ and²⁵³² wisdom,⁴⁶⁷⁸ which³⁷³⁹ all³⁹⁵⁶ your⁵²¹³ adversaries⁴⁸⁰ shall not³⁷⁵⁶ be able¹⁴¹⁰ to gainsay⁴⁷¹ nor³⁷⁶¹ resist.⁴³⁶

16  And¹¹⁶¹ ye shall be betrayed³⁸⁶⁰ both²⁵³² by⁵²⁵⁹ parents,¹¹¹⁸ and²⁵³² brethren,⁸⁰ and²⁵³² kinsfolk,⁴⁷⁷³ and²⁵³² friends;⁵³⁸⁴ and²⁵³² some of¹⁵³⁷ you⁵²¹⁶ shall they cause to be put to death.²²⁸⁹

17  And²⁵³² ye shall be²⁰⁷¹ hated³⁴⁰⁴ of⁵²⁵⁹ all³⁹⁵⁶ men for my name's sake.^{1223 3450 3686}

18  But²⁵³² there shall not³³⁶⁴ a hair²³⁵⁹ of¹⁵³⁷ your⁵²¹⁶ head²⁷⁷⁶ perish.⁶²²

19  In¹⁷²² your⁵²¹⁶ patience⁵²⁸¹ possess²⁹³² ye your⁵²¹⁶ souls.⁵⁵⁹⁰

20  And¹¹⁶¹ when³⁷⁵² ye shall see¹⁴⁹² Jerusalem²⁴¹⁹ compassed²⁹⁴⁴ with⁵²⁵⁹ armies,⁴⁷⁶⁰ then⁵¹¹⁹ know¹⁰⁹⁷ that³⁷⁵⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ desolation²⁰⁵⁰ thereof⁸⁴⁶ is nigh.¹⁴⁴⁸

21  Then⁵¹¹⁹ let them³⁵⁸⁸ which are in¹⁷²² Judea²⁴⁴⁹ flee⁵³⁴³ to¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ mountains;³⁷³⁵ and²⁵³² let them³⁵⁸⁸ which are in¹⁷²² the midst³³¹⁹ of it⁸⁴⁸ depart out;¹⁶³³ and²⁵³² let not³³⁶¹ them³⁵⁸⁸ that are in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ countries⁵⁵⁶¹ enter¹⁵²⁵ thereinto.^{1519 846}

22  For³⁷⁵⁴ these³⁷⁷⁸ be¹⁵²⁶ the days²²⁵⁰ of vengeance,¹⁵⁵⁷ that all things³⁹⁵⁶ which are written¹¹²⁵ may be fulfilled.⁴¹³⁷

23  But¹¹⁶¹ woe³⁷⁵⁹ unto them that are with child,^{2192 1722 1064} and²⁵³² to them that give suck,²³³⁷ in¹⁷²² those¹⁵⁶⁵ days!²²⁵⁰ for¹⁰⁶³ there shall be²⁰⁷¹ great³¹⁷³ distress³¹⁸ in¹⁹⁰⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ land,¹⁰⁹³ and²⁵³² wrath³⁷⁰⁹ upon¹⁷²² this⁵¹²⁹ people.²⁹⁹²

24  And²⁵³² they shall fall⁴⁰⁹⁸ by the edge⁴⁷⁵⁰ of the sword,³¹⁶² and²⁵³² shall be led away captive¹⁶³ into¹⁵¹⁹ all³⁹⁵⁶ nations:¹⁴⁸⁴ and²⁵³² Jerusalem²⁴¹⁹ shall be²⁰⁷¹ trodden down³⁹⁶¹ of⁵²⁵⁹ the Gentiles,¹⁴⁸⁴ until⁸⁹¹ the times²⁵⁴⁰ of the Gentiles¹⁴⁸⁴ be fulfilled.⁴¹³⁷

25  And²⁵³² there shall be²⁰⁷¹ signs⁴⁵⁹² in¹⁷²² the sun,²²⁴⁶ and²⁵³² in the moon,⁴⁵⁸² and²⁵³² in the stars;⁷⁹⁸ and²⁵³² upon¹⁹⁰⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ earth¹⁰⁹³ distress⁴⁹²⁸ of nations,¹⁴⁸⁴ with¹⁷²² perplexity;⁶⁴⁰ the sea²²⁸¹ and²⁵³² the waves⁴⁵³⁵ roaring;²²⁷⁸

26  Men's⁴⁴⁴ hearts failing them⁶⁷⁴ for⁵⁷⁵ fear,⁵⁴⁰¹ and²⁵³² for looking after⁴³²⁹ those things which are coming on¹⁹⁰⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ earth:³⁶²⁵ for¹⁰⁶³ the³⁵⁸⁸ powers¹⁴¹¹ of heaven³⁷⁷² shall be shaken.⁴⁵³¹

27  And²⁵³² then⁵¹¹⁹ shall they see³⁷⁰⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ Son⁵²⁰⁷ of man⁴⁴⁴ coming²⁰⁶⁴ in¹⁷²² a cloud³⁵⁰⁷ with³³²⁶ power¹⁴¹¹ and²⁵³² great⁴¹⁸³ glory.¹³⁹¹

28  And¹¹⁶¹ when these things⁵¹³⁰ begin⁷⁵⁶ to come to pass,¹⁰⁹⁶ then look up,³⁵² and²⁵³² lift up¹⁸⁶⁹ your⁵²¹⁶ heads;²⁷⁷⁶ for¹³⁶⁰ your⁵²¹⁶ redemption⁶²⁹ draweth nigh.¹⁴⁴⁸

29  And²⁵³² he spake²⁰³⁶ to them⁸⁴⁶ a parable;³⁸⁵⁰ Behold¹⁴⁹² the³⁵⁸⁸ fig tree,⁴⁸⁰⁸ and²⁵³² all³⁹⁵⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ trees;¹¹⁸⁶

30  When³⁷⁵² they now²²³⁵ shoot forth,⁴²⁶¹ ye see⁹⁹¹ and know¹⁰⁹⁷ of⁵⁷⁵ your own selves¹⁴³⁸ that³⁷⁵⁴ summer²³³⁰ is²⁰⁷⁶ now²²³⁵ nigh at hand.¹⁴⁵¹

31  So²⁵³² likewise³⁷⁷⁹ ye,⁵²¹⁰ when³⁷⁵² ye see¹⁴⁹² these things⁵⁰²³ come to pass,¹⁰⁹⁶ know¹⁰⁹⁷ ye that³⁷⁵⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ kingdom⁹³² of God²³¹⁶ is²⁰⁷⁶ nigh at hand.¹⁴⁵¹

32  Verily²⁸¹ I say³⁰⁰⁴ unto you,^{5213 3754} This³⁷⁷⁸ generation¹⁰⁷⁴ shall not³³⁶⁴ pass away,³⁹²⁸ till^{2193 302} all³⁹⁵⁶ be fulfilled.¹⁰⁹⁶

33  Heaven³⁷⁷² and²⁵³² earth¹⁰⁹³ shall pass away:³⁹²⁸ but¹¹⁶¹ my³⁴⁵⁰ words³⁰⁵⁶ shall not³³⁶⁴ pass away.³⁹²⁸

34  And¹¹⁶¹ take heed⁴³³⁷ to yourselves,¹⁴³⁸ lest at any time³³⁷⁹ your⁵²¹⁶ hearts²⁵⁸⁸ be overcharged⁹²⁵ with¹⁷²² surfeiting,²⁸⁹⁷ and²⁵³² drunkenness,³¹⁷⁸ and²⁵³² cares³³⁰⁸ of this life,⁹⁸² and²⁵³² so that¹⁵⁶⁵ day²²⁵⁰ come²¹⁸⁶ upon¹⁹⁰⁹ you⁵²⁰⁹ unawares.¹⁶⁰

35  For¹⁰⁶³ as⁵⁶¹³ a snare³⁸⁰³ shall it come¹⁹⁰⁴ on¹⁹⁰⁹ all³⁹⁵⁶ them that dwell²⁵²¹ on¹⁹⁰⁹ the face⁴³⁸³ of the³⁵⁸⁸ whole³⁹⁵⁶ earth.¹⁰⁹³

36  Watch⁶⁹ ye therefore,³⁷⁶⁷ and pray¹¹⁸⁹ always,^{1722 3956 2540} that²⁴⁴³ ye may be accounted worthy²⁶⁶¹ to escape¹⁶²⁸ all³⁹⁵⁶ these things⁵⁰²³ that shall³¹⁹⁵ come to pass,¹⁰⁹⁶ and²⁵³² to stand²⁴⁷⁶ before¹⁷¹⁵ the³⁵⁸⁸ Son⁵²⁰⁷ of man.⁴⁴⁴

37  And¹¹⁶¹ in the³⁵⁸⁸ daytime²²⁵⁰ he was²²⁵⁸ teaching¹³²¹ in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ temple;²⁴¹¹ and¹¹⁶¹ at night³⁵⁷¹ he went out,¹⁸³¹ and abode⁸³⁵ in¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ mount³⁷³⁵ that is called²⁵⁶⁴ the mount of Olives.¹⁶³⁶

38  And²⁵³² all³⁹⁵⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ people²⁹⁹² came early in the morning³⁷¹⁹ to⁴³¹⁴ him⁸⁴⁶ in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ temple,²⁴¹¹ for to hear¹⁹¹ him.⁸⁴⁶

3 Et dixit: Vere dico vobis, quia vidua hæc pauper plus quam omnes misit.

4 Nam omnes hi ex abundanti sibi miserunt in munera Dei: hæc autem ex eo quod deest illi, omnem victum suum quem habuit, misit.

5 Et quibusdam dicentibus de templo quod bonis lapidibus et donis ornatum esset, dixit:

6 Hæc quæ videtis, venient dies in quibus non relinquetur lapis super lapidem, qui non destruatur.

7 Interrogaverunt autem illum, dicentes: Præceptor, quando hæc erunt, et quod signum cum fieri incipient?

8 Qui dixit: Videte ne seducamini: multi enim venient in nomine meo, dicentes quia ego sum: et tempus appropinquavit: nolite ergo ire post eos.

9 Cum autem audieritis prælia et seditiones, nolite terreri: oportet primum hæc fieri, sed nondum statim finis.

10 Tunc dicebat illis: Surget gens contra gentem, et regnum adversus regnum.

11 Et terræmotus magni erunt per loca, et pestilentiæ, et fames, terroresque de cælo, et signa magna erunt.

12 Sed ante hæc omnia injicient vobis manus suas, et persequentur tradentes in synagogas et custodias, trahentes ad reges et præsides propter nomen meum:

13 continget autem vobis in testimonium.

14 Ponite ergo in cordibus vestris non præmeditari quemadmodum respondeatis:

15 ego enim dabo vobis os et sapientiam, cui non poterunt resistere et contradicere omnes adversarii vestri.

16 Trademini autem a parentibus, et fratribus, et cognatis, et amicis, et morte afficient ex vobis:

17 et eritis odio omnibus propter nomen meum:

18 et capillus de capite vestro non peribit.

19 In patientia vestra possidebitis animas vestras.

20 Cum autem videritis circumdari ab exercitu Jerusalem, tunc scitote quia appropinquavit desolatio ejus:

21 tunc qui in Judæa sunt, fugiant ad montes, et qui in medio ejus, discedant: et qui in regionibus, non intrent in eam,

22 quia dies ultionis hi sunt, ut impleantur omnia quæ scripta sunt.

23 Væ autem prægnantibus et nutrientibus in illis diebus! erit enim pressura magna super terram, et ira populo huic.

24 Et cadent in ore gladii, et captivi ducentur in omnes gentes, et Jerusalem calcabitur a gentibus, donec impleantur tempora nationum.

25 Et erunt signa in sole, et luna, et stellis, et in terris pressura gentium præ confusione sonitus maris, et fluctuum:

26 arescentibus hominibus præ timore, et exspectatione, quæ supervenient universo orbi: nam virtutes cælorum movebuntur:

27 et tunc videbunt Filium hominis venientem in nube cum potestate magna et majestate.

28 His autem fieri incipientibus, respicite, et levate capita vestra: quoniam appropinquat redemptio vestra.

29 Et dixit illis similitudinem: Videte ficulneam, et omnes arbores:

30 cum producunt jam ex se fructum, scitis quoniam prope est æstas.

31 Ita et vos cum videritis hæc fieri, scitote quoniam prope est regnum Dei.

32 Amen dico vobis, quia non præteribit generatio hæc, donec omnia fiant.

33 Cælum et terra transibunt: verba autem mea non transibunt.

34 Attendite autem vobis, ne forte graventur corda vestra in crapula, et ebrietate, et curis hujus vitæ, et superveniat in vos repentina dies illa:

35 tamquam laqueus enim superveniet in omnes qui sedent super faciem omnis terræ.

36 Vigilate itaque, omni tempore orantes, ut digni habeamini fugere ista omnia quæ futura sunt, et stare ante Filium hominis.

37 Erat autem diebus docens in templo: noctibus vero exiens, morabatur in monte qui vocatur Oliveti.

38 Et omnis populus manicabat ad eum in templo audire eum.
