Luke 16

GNT

5 καὶ προσκαλεσάμενος ἕνα ἕκαστον τῶν χρεοφειλετῶν τοῦ κυρίου ἑαυτοῦ ἔλεγεν τῶ πρώτῳ, πόσον ὀφείλεις τῶ κυρίῳ μου;

11 εἰ οὗν ἐν τῶ ἀδίκῳ μαμωνᾷ πιστοὶ οὐκ ἐγένεσθε, τὸ ἀληθινὸν τίς ὑμῖν πιστεύσει;

12 καὶ εἰ ἐν τῶ ἀλλοτρίῳ πιστοὶ οὐκ ἐγένεσθε, τὸ ὑμέτερον τίς ὑμῖν δώσει;

1  And1161 he said3004 also2532 unto4314 his846 disciples,3101 There was2258 a certain5100 rich4145 man,444 which3739 had2192 a steward;3623 and2532 the same3778 was accused1225 unto him846 that5613 he had wasted1287 his848 goods.5224

2  And2532 he called5455 him,846 and said2036 unto him,846 How5101 is it that I hear191 this5124 of4012 thee?4675 give591 an account3056 of thy4675 stewardship;3622 for1063 thou mayest1410 be no longer steward.3621 3756 2089

3  Then1161 the3588 steward3623 said2036 within1722 himself,1438 What5101 shall I do?4160 for3754 my3450 lord2962 taketh away851 from575 me1700 the3588 stewardship:3622 I cannot2480 3756 dig;4626 to beg1871 I am ashamed.153

4  I am resolved1097 what5101 to do,4160 that,2443 when3752 I am put out3179 of the3588 stewardship,3622 they may receive1209 me3165 into1519 their848 houses.3624

5  So2532 he called4341 every1538 one1520 of his1438 lord's2962 debtors5533 unto him, and said3004 unto the3588 first,4413 how much4214 owest3784 thou unto my3450 lord?2962

6  And1161 he3588 said,2036 A hundred1540 measures943 of oil.1637 And2532 he said2036 unto him,846 Take1209 thy4675 bill,1121 and2532 sit down2523 quickly,5030 and write1125 fifty.4004

7  Then1899 said2036 he to another,2087 And1161 how much4214 owest3784 thou?4771 And1161 he3588 said,2036 A hundred1540 measures2884 of wheat.4621 And2532 he said3004 unto him,846 Take1209 thy4675 bill,1121 and2532 write1125 fourscore.3589

8  And2532 the3588 lord2962 commended1867 the3588 unjust93 steward,3623 because3754 he had done4160 wisely:5430 for3754 the3588 children5207 of this5127 world165 are1526 in1519 their1438 generation1074 wiser5429 than5228 the3588 children5207 of light.5457

9  And I2504 say3004 unto you,5213 Make4160 to yourselves1438 friends5384 of1537 the3588 mammon3126 of unrighteousness;93 that,2443 when3752 ye fail,1587 they may receive1209 you5209 into1519 everlasting166 habitations.4633

10  He that is faithful4103 in1722 that which is least1646 is2076 faithful4103 also2532 in1722 much:4183 and2532 he that is unjust94 in1722 the least1646 is2076 unjust94 also2532 in1722 much.4183

11  If1487 therefore3767 ye have not3756 been1096 faithful4103 in1722 the3588 unrighteous94 mammon,3126 who5101 will commit to your trust4100 5213 the3588 true228 riches?

12  And2532 if1487 ye have not3756 been1096 faithful4103 in1722 that which is another man's,245 who5101 shall give1325 you5213 that which is your own?5212

13  No3762 servant3610 can1410 serve1398 two1417 masters:2962 for1063 either2228 he will hate3404 the3588 one,1520 and2532 love25 the3588 other;2087 or else2228 he will hold to472 the one,1520 and2532 despise2706 the3588 other.2087 Ye cannot1410 3756 serve1398 God2316 and2532 mammon.3126

14  And1161 the3588 Pharisees5330 also,2532 who were5225 covetous,5366 heard191 all3956 these things:5023 and2532 they derided1592 him.846

15  And2532 he said2036 unto them,846 Ye5210 are2075 they which justify1344 yourselves1438 before1799 men;444 but1161 God2316 knoweth1097 your5216 hearts:2588 for3754 that which is highly esteemed5308 among1722 men444 is2076 abomination946 in the sight1799 of God.2316

16  The3588 law3551 and2532 the3588 prophets4396 were until2193 John:2491 since575 that time5119 the3588 kingdom932 of God2316 is preached,2097 and2532 every man3956 presseth971 into1519 it.846

17  And1161 it is2076 easier2123 for heaven3772 and2532 earth1093 to pass,3928 than2228 one3391 tittle2762 of the3588 law3551 to fail.4098

18  Whosoever3956 putteth away630 his848 wife,1135 and2532 marrieth1060 another,2087 committeth adultery:3431 and2532 whosoever3956 marrieth1060 her that is put away630 from575 her husband435 committeth adultery.3431

19  There1161 was2258 a certain5100 rich4145 man,444 which2532 was clothed1737 in purple4209 and2532 fine linen,1040 and fared2165 sumptuously2988 every day:2596 2250

20  And1161 there was2258 a certain5100 beggar4434 named3686 Lazarus,2976 which3739 was laid906 at4314 his846 gate,4440 full of sores,1669

21  And2532 desiring1937 to be fed5526 with575 the3588 crumbs5589 which fell4098 from575 the3588 rich man's4145 table:5132 moreover235 2532 the3588 dogs2965 came2064 and licked621 his846 sores.1668

22  And1161 it came to pass,1096 that the3588 beggar4434 died,599 and2532 was846 carried667 by5259 the3588 angels32 into1519 Abraham's11 bosom:2859 1161 the3588 rich man4145 also2532 died,599 and2532 was buried;2290

23  And2532 in1722 hell86 he lifted up1869 his848 eyes,3788 being5225 in1722 torments,931 and seeth3708 Abraham11 afar off,575 3113 and2532 Lazarus2976 in1722 his846 bosom.2859

24  And2532 he846 cried5455 and said,2036 Father3962 Abraham,11 have mercy1653 on me,3165 and2532 send3992 Lazarus,2976 that2443 he may dip911 the3588 tip206 of his848 finger1147 in water,5204 and2532 cool2711 my3450 tongue;1100 for3754 I am tormented3600 in1722 this5026 flame.5395

25  But1161 Abraham11 said,2036 Son,5043 remember3415 that3754 thou4771 in1722 thy4675 lifetime2222 receivedst618 thy4675 good things,18 and2532 likewise3668 Lazarus2976 evil things:2556 but1161 now3568 he3592 is comforted,3870 and1161 thou4771 art tormented.3600

26  And2532 beside1909 all3956 this,5125 between3342 us2257 and2532 you5216 there is a great3173 gulf5490 fixed:4741 so that3704 they which would2309 pass1224 from hence1782 to4314 you5209 cannot;1410 3361 neither3366 can they pass1276 to4314 us,2248 that would come from thence.1564

27  Then1161 he said,2036 I pray2065 thee4571 therefore,3767 father,3962 that2443 thou wouldest send3992 him846 to1519 my3450 father's3962 house:3624

28  For1063 I have2192 five4002 brethren;80 that3704 he may testify1263 unto them,846 lest3363 they846 also2532 come2064 into1519 this5126 place5117 of torment.931

29  Abraham11 saith3004 unto him,846 They have2192 Moses3475 and2532 the3588 prophets;4396 let them hear191 them.846

30  And1161 he3588 said,2036 Nay,3780 father3962 Abraham:11 but235 if1437 one5100 went4198 unto4314 them846 from575 the dead,3498 they will repent.3340

31  And1161 he said2036 unto him,846 If they hear191 not3756 Moses3475 and2532 the3588 prophets,4396 neither3756 will they be persuaded,3982 though3761 1437 one5100 rose450 from1537 the dead.3498

Vul

3 Ait autem villicus intra se: Quid faciam, quia dominus meus aufert a me villicationem? Fodere non valeo, mendicare erubesco.

4 Scio quid faciam, ut, cum amotus fuero a villicatione, recipiant me in domos suas.

5 Convocatis itaque singulis debitoribus domini sui, dicebat primo: Quantum debes domino meo?

6 At ille dixit: Centum cados olei. Dixitque illi: Accipe cautionem tuam: et sede cito, scribe quinquaginta.

7 Deinde alii dixit: Tu vero quantum debes?
