1  And it came to pass1961 in the ninth8671 year8141 of his reign,4427 in the tenth6224 month,2320 in the tenth6218 day of the month,2320 that Nebuchadnezzar5019 king4428 of Babylon894 came,935 he,1931 and all3605 his host,2428 against5921 Jerusalem,3389 and pitched2583 against5921 it; and they built1129 forts1785 against5921 it round about.5439

2  And the city5892 was besieged935 4692 unto5704 the eleventh6249 6240 year8141 of king4428 Zedekiah.6667

3  And on the ninth8672 day of the fourth month2320 the famine7458 prevailed2388 in the city,5892 and there was1961 no3808 bread3899 for the people5971 of the land.776

4  And the city5892 was broken up,1234 and all3605 the men376 of war4421 fled by night3915 by the way1870 of the gate8179 between996 two walls,2346 which834 is by5921 the king's4428 garden:1588 (now the Chaldees3778 were against5921 the city5892 round about:)5439 and the king went1980 the way1870 toward the plain.6160

5  And the army2428 of the Chaldees3778 pursued7291 after310 the king,4428 and overtook5381 him in the plains6160 of Jericho:3405 and all3605 his army2428 were scattered6327 from4480 5921 him.

6  So they took8610 853 the king,4428 and brought him up5927 853 to413 the king4428 of Babylon894 to Riblah;7247 and they gave1696 judgment4941 upon854 him.

7  And they slew7819 the sons1121 of Zedekiah6667 before his eyes,5869 and put out5786 853 the eyes5869 of Zedekiah,6667 and bound631 him with fetters of brass,5178 and carried935 him to Babylon.894

8  And in the fifth2549 month,2320 on the seventh7651 day of the month,2320 which1931 is the nineteenth8672 6240 year8141 of king4428 Nebuchadnezzar5019 king4428 of Babylon,894 came935 Nebuzaradan,5018 captain7227 of the guard,2876 a servant5650 of the king4428 of Babylon,894 unto Jerusalem:3389

9  And he burnt8313 853 the house1004 of the LORD,3068 and the king's4428 house,1004 and all3605 the houses1004 of Jerusalem,3389 and every3605 great1419 man's house1004 burnt8313 he with fire.784

10  And all3605 the army2428 of the Chaldees,3778 that834 were with the captain7227 of the guard,2876 broke down5422 the walls2346 of Jerusalem3389 round about.5439

11  Now the rest3499 of the people5971 that were left7604 in the city,5892 and the fugitives5307 that834 fell away5307 to5921 the king4428 of Babylon,894 with the remnant3499 of the multitude,1995 did Nebuzaradan5018 the captain7227 of the guard2876 carry away.1540

12  But the captain7227 of the guard2876 left7604 of the poor4480 1803 of the land776 to be vinedressers3755 and husbandmen.3009

13  And the pillars5982 of brass5178 that834 were in the house1004 of the LORD,3068 and the bases,4350 and the brazen5178 sea3220 that834 was in the house1004 of the LORD,3068 did the Chaldees3778 break in pieces,7665 and carried5375 853 the brass5178 of them to Babylon.894

14  And the pots,5518 and the shovels,3257 and the snuffers,4212 and the spoons,3709 and all3605 the vessels3627 of brass5178 wherewith834 they ministered,8334 took they away.3947

15  And the firepans,4289 and the bowls,4219 and such things as834 were of gold,2091 in gold,2091 and of silver,3701 in silver,3701 the captain7227 of the guard2876 took away.3947

16  The two8147 pillars,5982 one259 sea,3220 and the bases4350 which834 Solomon8010 had made6213 for the house1004 of the LORD;3068 the brass5178 of all3605 these428 vessels3627 was1961 without3808 weight.4948

17  The height6967 of the one259 pillar5982 was eighteen8083 6240 cubits,520 and the chapiter3805 upon5921 it was brass:5178 and the height6967 of the chapiter3805 three7969 cubits;520 and the wreathen work,7639 and pomegranates7416 upon5921 the chapiter3805 round about,5439 all3605 of brass:5178 and like unto these428 had the second8145 pillar5982 with5921 wreathen work.7639

18  And the captain7227 of the guard2876 took3947 853 Seraiah8304 the chief7218 priest,3548 and Zephaniah6846 the second4932 priest,3548 and the three7969 keepers8104 of the door:5592

19  And out of4480 the city5892 he took3947 an259 officer5631 that834 1931 was set6496 over5921 the men376 of war,4421 and five2568 men376 of them that were4480 7200 in the king's4428 presence,6440 which834 were found4672 in the city,5892 and the principal8269 scribe5608 of the host,6635 which mustered6633 853 the people5971 of the land,776 and threescore8346 men376 of the people4480 5971 of the land776 that were found4672 in the city:5892

20  And Nebuzaradan5018 captain7227 of the guard2876 took3947 these, and brought1980 them to5921 the king4428 of Babylon894 to Riblah:7247

21  And the king4428 of Babylon894 smote5221 them, and slew4191 them at Riblah7247 in the land776 of Hamath.2574 So Judah3063 was carried away1540 out of4480 5921 their land.127

22  And as for the people5971 that remained7604 in the land776 of Judah,3063 whom834 Nebuchadnezzar5019 king4428 of Babylon894 had left,7604 even over5921 them he made 853 Gedaliah1436 the son1121 of Ahikam,296 the son1121 of Shaphan,8227 ruler.6485

23  And when all3605 the captains8269 of the armies,2428 they1992 and their men,376 heard8085 that3588 the king4428 of Babylon894 had made 853 Gedaliah1436 governor,6485 there came935 to413 Gedaliah1436 to Mizpah,4709 even Ishmael3458 the son1121 of Nethaniah,5418 and Johanan3110 the son1121 of Careah,7143 and Seraiah8304 the son1121 of Tanhumeth8576 the Netophathite,5200 and Jaazaniah2970 the son1121 of a Maachathite,4602 they1992 and their men.376

24  And Gedaliah1436 swore7650 to them, and to their men,376 and said559 unto them, Fear3372 not408 to be the servants4480 5650 of the Chaldees:3778 dwell3427 in the land,776 and serve5647 853 the king4428 of Babylon;894 and it shall be well3190 with you.

25  But it came to pass1961 in the seventh7637 month,2320 that Ishmael3458 the son1121 of Nethaniah,5418 the son1121 of Elishama,476 of the seed4480 2233 royal,4410 came,935 and ten6235 men376 with854 him, and smote5221 853 Gedaliah,1436 that he died,4191 and the Jews3064 and the Chaldees3778 that834 were1961 with854 him at Mizpah.4709

26  And all3605 the people,5971 both small4480 6996 and great,1419 and the captains8269 of the armies,2428 arose,6965 and came935 to Egypt:4714 for3588 they were afraid3372 of4480 6440 the Chaldees.3778

27  And it came to pass1961 in the seven7651 and thirtieth7970 year8141 of the captivity1546 of Jehoiachin3078 king4428 of Judah,3063 in the twelfth8147 6240 month,2320 on the seven7651 and twentieth6242 day of the month,2320 that Evilmerodach192 king4428 of Babylon894 in the year8141 that he began to reign4427 did lift up5375 853 the head7218 of Jehoiachin3078 king4428 of Judah3063 out of prison;4480 1004 3608

28  And he spoke1696 kindly2896 to854 him, and set5414 853 his throne3678 above4480 5921 the throne3678 of the kings4428 that834 were with854 him in Babylon;894

29  And changed8132 853 his prison3608 garments:899 and he did eat398 bread3899 continually8548 before6440 him all3605 the days3117 of his life.2416

30  And his allowance737 was a continual8548 allowance737 given5414 him of4480 854 the king,4428 a daily3117 rate1697 for every day,3117 all3605 the days3117 of his life.2416

1 καὶ ἐγενήθη ἐν τῷ ἔτει τῷ ἐνάτῳ τῆς βασιλείας αὐτοῦ ἐν τῷ μηνὶ τῷ δεκάτῳ ἦλθεν Ναβουχοδονοσορ βασιλεὺς Βαβυλῶνος καὶ πᾶσα ἡ δύναμις αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ Ιερουσαλημ καὶ παρενέβαλεν ἐπ᾽ αὐτὴν καὶ ᾠκοδόμησεν ἐπ᾽ αὐτὴν περίτειχος κύκλῳ

2 καὶ ἦλθεν ἡ πόλις ἐν περιοχῇ ἕως τοῦ ἑνδεκάτου ἔτους τοῦ βασιλέως Σεδεκιου

3 ἐνάτῃ τοῦ μηνὸς καὶ ἐνίσχυσεν ὁ λιμὸς ἐν τῇ πόλει καὶ οὐκ ἦσαν ἄρτοι τῷ λαῷ τῆς γῆς

4 καὶ ἐρράγη ἡ πόλις καὶ πάντες οἱ ἄνδρες τοῦ πολέμου ἐξῆλθον νυκτὸς ὁδὸν πύλης τῆς ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν τειχέων αὕτη ἥ ἐστιν τοῦ κήπου τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ οἱ Χαλδαῖοι ἐπὶ τὴν πόλιν κύκλῳ καὶ ἐπορεύθη ὁδὸν τὴν Αραβα

5 καὶ ἐδίωξεν ἡ δύναμις τῶν Χαλδαίων ὀπίσω τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ κατέλαβον αὐτὸν ἐν Αραβωθ Ιεριχω καὶ πᾶσα ἡ δύναμις αὐτοῦ διεσπάρη ἐπάνωθεν αὐτοῦ

6 καὶ συνέλαβον τὸν βασιλέα καὶ ἤγαγον αὐτὸν πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα Βαβυλῶνος εἰς Δεβλαθα καὶ ἐλάλησεν μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ κρίσιν

7 καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς Σεδεκιου ἔσφαξεν κατ᾽ ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτοῦ καὶ τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς Σεδεκιου ἐξετύφλωσεν καὶ ἔδησεν αὐτὸν ἐν πέδαις καὶ ἤγαγεν αὐτὸν εἰς Βαβυλῶνα

8 καὶ ἐν τῷ μηνὶ τῷ πέμπτῳ ἑβδόμῃ τοῦ μηνός αὐτὸς ἐνιαυτὸς ἐννεακαιδέκατος τῷ Ναβουχοδονοσορ βασιλεῖ Βαβυλῶνος ἦλθεν Ναβουζαρδαν ὁ ἀρχιμάγειρος ἑστὼς ἐνώπιον βασιλέως Βαβυλῶνος εἰς Ιερουσαλημ

9 καὶ ἐνέπρησεν τὸν οἶκον κυρίου καὶ τὸν οἶκον τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ πάντας τοὺς οἴκους Ιερουσαλημ καὶ πᾶν οἶκον ἐνέπρησεν

10 ὁ ἀρχιμάγειρος

11 καὶ τὸ περισσὸν τοῦ λαοῦ τὸ καταλειφθὲν ἐν τῇ πόλει καὶ τοὺς ἐμπεπτωκότας οἳ ἐνέπεσον πρὸς βασιλέα Βαβυλῶνος καὶ τὸ λοιπὸν τοῦ στηρίγματος μετῆρεν Ναβουζαρδαν ὁ ἀρχιμάγειρος

12 καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν πτωχῶν τῆς γῆς ὑπέλιπεν ὁ ἀρχιμάγειρος εἰς ἀμπελουργοὺς καὶ εἰς γαβιν

13 καὶ τοὺς στύλους τοὺς χαλκοῦς τοὺς ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου καὶ τὰς μεχωνωθ καὶ τὴν θάλασσαν τὴν χαλκῆν τὴν ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου συνέτριψαν οἱ Χαλδαῖοι καὶ ἦραν τὸν χαλκὸν αὐτῶν εἰς Βαβυλῶνα

14 καὶ τοὺς λέβητας καὶ τὰ ιαμιν καὶ τὰς φιάλας καὶ τὰς θυίσκας καὶ πάντα τὰ σκεύη τὰ χαλκᾶ ἐν οἷς λειτουργοῦσιν ἐν αὐτοῖς ἔλαβεν

15 καὶ τὰ πυρεῖα καὶ τὰς φιάλας τὰς χρυσᾶς καὶ τὰς ἀργυρᾶς ἔλαβεν ὁ ἀρχιμάγειρος

16 στύλους δύο ἡ θάλασσα ἡ μία καὶ τὰ μεχωνωθ ἃ ἐποίησεν Σαλωμων τῷ οἴκῳ κυρίου οὐκ ἦν σταθμὸς τοῦ χαλκοῦ πάντων τῶν σκευῶν

17 ὀκτωκαίδεκα πήχεων ὕψος τοῦ στύλου τοῦ ἑνός καὶ τὸ χωθαρ ἐπ᾽ αὐτοῦ τὸ χαλκοῦν καὶ τὸ ὕψος τοῦ χωθαρ τριῶν πήχεων σαβαχα καὶ ῥοαὶ ἐπὶ τοῦ χωθαρ κύκλῳ τὰ πάντα χαλκᾶ καὶ κατὰ τὰ αὐτὰ τῷ στύλῳ τῷ δευτέρῳ ἐπὶ τῷ σαβαχα

18 καὶ ἔλαβεν ὁ ἀρχιμάγειρος τὸν Σαραιαν ἱερέα τὸν πρῶτον καὶ τὸν Σοφονιαν υἱὸν τῆς δευτερώσεως καὶ τοὺς τρεῖς τοὺς φυλάσσοντας τὸν σταθμὸν

19 καὶ ἐκ τῆς πόλεως ἔλαβεν εὐνοῦχον ἕνα ὃς ἦν ἐπιστάτης ἐπὶ τῶν ἀνδρῶν τῶν πολεμιστῶν καὶ πέντε ἄνδρας τῶν ὁρώντων τὸ πρόσωπον τοῦ βασιλέως τοὺς εὑρεθέντας ἐν τῇ πόλει καὶ τὸν γραμματέα τοῦ ἄρχοντος τῆς δυνάμεως τὸν ἐκτάσσοντα τὸν λαὸν τῆς γῆς καὶ ἑξήκοντα ἄνδρας τοῦ λαοῦ τῆς γῆς τοὺς εὑρεθέντας ἐν τῇ πόλει

20 καὶ ἔλαβεν αὐτοὺς Ναβουζαρδαν ὁ ἀρχιμάγειρος καὶ ἀπήγαγεν αὐτοὺς πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα Βαβυλῶνος εἰς Δεβλαθα

21 καὶ ἔπαισεν αὐτοὺς βασιλεὺς Βαβυλῶνος καὶ ἐθανάτωσεν αὐτοὺς ἐν Δεβλαθα ἐν γῇ Αιμαθ καὶ ἀπῳκίσθη Ιουδας ἐπάνωθεν τῆς γῆς αὐτοῦ

22 καὶ ὁ λαὸς ὁ καταλειφθεὶς ἐν γῇ Ιουδα οὓς κατέλιπεν Ναβουχοδονοσορ βασιλεὺς Βαβυλῶνος καὶ κατέστησεν ἐπ᾽ αὐτῶν τὸν Γοδολιαν υἱὸν Αχικαμ υἱοῦ Σαφαν

23 καὶ ἤκουσαν πάντες οἱ ἄρχοντες τῆς δυνάμεως αὐτοὶ καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες αὐτῶν ὅτι κατέστησεν βασιλεὺς Βαβυλῶνος τὸν Γοδολιαν καὶ ἦλθον πρὸς Γοδολιαν εἰς Μασσηφαθ καὶ Ισμαηλ υἱὸς Ναθανιου καὶ Ιωαναν υἱὸς Καρηε καὶ Σαραιας υἱὸς Θανεμαθ ὁ Νετωφαθίτης καὶ Ιεζονιας υἱὸς τοῦ Μαχαθι αὐτοὶ καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες αὐτῶν

24 καὶ ὤμοσεν Γοδολιας αὐτοῖς καὶ τοῖς ἀνδράσιν αὐτῶν καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς μὴ φοβεῖσθε πάροδον τῶν Χαλδαίων καθίσατε ἐν τῇ γῇ καὶ δουλεύσατε τῷ βασιλεῖ Βαβυλῶνος καὶ καλῶς ἔσται ὑμῖν

25 καὶ ἐγενήθη ἐν τῷ ἑβδόμῳ μηνὶ ἦλθεν Ισμαηλ υἱὸς Ναθανιου υἱοῦ Ελισαμα ἐκ τοῦ σπέρματος τῶν βασιλέων καὶ δέκα ἄνδρες μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπάταξεν τὸν Γοδολιαν καὶ ἀπέθανεν καὶ τοὺς Ιουδαίους καὶ τοὺς Χαλδαίους οἳ ἦσαν μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ εἰς Μασσηφαθ

26 καὶ ἀνέστη πᾶς ὁ λαὸς ἀπὸ μικροῦ καὶ ἕως μεγάλου καὶ οἱ ἄρχοντες τῶν δυνάμεων καὶ εἰσῆλθον εἰς Αἴγυπτον ὅτι ἐφοβήθησαν ἀπὸ προσώπου τῶν Χαλδαίων

27 καὶ ἐγενήθη ἐν τῷ τριακοστῷ καὶ ἑβδόμῳ ἔτει τῆς ἀποικεσίας τοῦ Ιωακιμ βασιλέως Ιουδα ἐν τῷ δωδεκάτῳ μηνὶ ἑβδόμῃ καὶ εἰκάδι τοῦ μηνὸς ὕψωσεν Ευιλμαρωδαχ βασιλεὺς Βαβυλῶνος ἐν τῷ ἐνιαυτῷ τῆς βασιλείας αὐτοῦ τὴν κεφαλὴν Ιωακιμ βασιλέως Ιουδα καὶ ἐξήγαγεν αὐτὸν ἐξ οἴκου φυλακῆς αὐτοῦ

28 καὶ ἐλάλησεν μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἀγαθὰ καὶ ἔδωκεν τὸν θρόνον αὐτοῦ ἐπάνωθεν τῶν θρόνων τῶν βασιλέων τῶν μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἐν Βαβυλῶνι

29 καὶ ἠλλοίωσεν τὰ ἱμάτια τῆς φυλακῆς αὐτοῦ καὶ ἤσθιεν ἄρτον διὰ παντὸς ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τῆς ζωῆς αὐτοῦ

30 καὶ ἡ ἑστιατορία αὐτοῦ ἑστιατορία διὰ παντὸς ἐδόθη αὐτῷ ἐξ οἴκου τοῦ βασιλέως λόγον ἡμέρας ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ αὐτοῦ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τῆς ζωῆς αὐτοῦ

‎1 ‏וַיְהִי֩ בִשְׁנַ֨ת הַתְּשִׁיעִ֜ית לְמָלְכ֗וֹ בַּחֹ֣דֶשׁ הָעֲשִׂירִי֮ בֶּעָשׂ֣וֹר לַחֹדֶשׁ֒ בָּ֠א נְבֻכַדְנֶאצַּ֨ר מֶֽלֶךְ־בָּבֶ֜ל ה֧וּא וְכָל־חֵיל֛וֹ עַל־יְרוּשָׁלִַ֖ם וַיִּ֣חַן עָלֶ֑יהָ וַיִּבְנ֥וּ עָלֶ֖יהָ דָּיֵ֥ק סָבִֽיב׃

‎2 ‏וַתָּבֹ֥א הָעִ֖יר בַּמָּצ֑וֹר עַ֚ד עַשְׁתֵּ֣י עֶשְׂרֵ֣ה שָׁנָ֔ה לַמֶּ֖לֶךְ צִדְקִיָּֽהוּ׃

‎3 ‏בְּתִשְׁעָ֣ה לַחֹ֔דֶשׁ וַיֶּחֱזַ֥ק הָרָעָ֖ב בָּעִ֑יר וְלֹא־הָ֥יָה לֶ֖חֶם לְעַ֥ם הָאָֽרֶץ׃

‎4 ‏וַתִּבָּקַ֣ע הָעִ֗יר וְכָל־אַנְשֵׁ֨י הַמִּלְחָמָ֤ה׀ הַלַּ֙יְלָה֙ דֶּ֜רֶךְ שַׁ֣עַר׀ בֵּ֣ין הַחֹמֹתַ֗יִם אֲשֶׁר֙ עַל־גַּ֣ן הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ וְכַשְׂדִּ֥ים עַל־הָעִ֖יר סָבִ֑יב וַיֵּ֖לֶךְ דֶּ֥רֶךְ הָעֲרָבָֽה׃

‎5 ‏וַיִּרְדְּפ֤וּ חֵיל־כַּשְׂדִּים֙ אַחַ֣ר הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ וַיַּשִּׂ֥גוּ אֹת֖וֹ בְּעַרְב֣וֹת יְרֵח֑וֹ וְכָל־חֵיל֔וֹ נָפֹ֖צוּ מֵעָלָֽיו׃

‎6 ‏וַֽיִּתְפְּשׂוּ֙ אֶת־הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ וַיַּעֲל֥וּ אֹת֛וֹ אֶל־מֶ֥לֶךְ בָּבֶ֖ל רִבְלָ֑תָה וַיְדַבְּר֥וּ אִתּ֖וֹ מִשְׁפָּֽט׃

‎7 ‏וְאֶת־בְּנֵי֙ צִדְקִיָּ֔הוּ שָׁחֲט֖וּ לְעֵינָ֑יו וְאֶת־עֵינֵ֤י צִדְקִיָּ֙הוּ֙ עִוֵּ֔ר וַיַּאַסְרֵ֙הוּ֙ בַֽנְחֻשְׁתַּ֔יִם וַיְבִאֵ֖הוּ בָּבֶֽל׃ ס

‎8 ‏וּבַחֹ֤דֶשׁ הַֽחֲמִישִׁי֙ בְּשִׁבְעָ֣ה לַחֹ֔דֶשׁ הִ֗יא שְׁנַת֙ תְּשַֽׁע־עֶשְׂרֵ֣ה שָׁנָ֔ה לַמֶּ֖לֶךְ נְבֻכַדְנֶאצַּ֣ר מֶֽלֶךְ־בָּבֶ֑ל בָּ֞א נְבוּזַרְאֲדָ֧ן רַב־טַבָּחִ֛ים עֶ֥בֶד מֶֽלֶךְ־בָּבֶ֖ל יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃

‎9 ‏וַיִּשְׂרֹ֥ף אֶת־בֵּית־יְהוָ֖ה וְאֶת־בֵּ֣ית הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וְאֵ֨ת כָּל־בָּתֵּ֧י יְרוּשָׁלִַ֛ם וְאֶת־כָּל־בֵּ֥ית גָּד֖וֹל שָׂרַ֥ף בָּאֵֽשׁ׃

‎10 ‏וְאֶת־חוֹמֹ֥ת יְרוּשָׁלִַ֖ם סָבִ֑יב נָֽתְצוּ֙ כָּל־חֵ֣יל כַּשְׂדִּ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֖ר רַב־טַבָּחִֽים׃

‎11 ‏וְאֵת֩ יֶ֨תֶר הָעָ֜ם הַנִּשְׁאָרִ֣ים בָּעִ֗יר וְאֶת־הַנֹּֽפְלִים֙ אֲשֶׁ֤ר נָפְלוּ֙ עַל־הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ בָּבֶ֔ל וְאֵ֖ת יֶ֣תֶר הֶהָמ֑וֹן הֶגְלָ֕ה נְבוּזַרְאֲדָ֖ן רַב־טַבָּחִֽים׃

‎12 ‏וּמִדַּלַּ֣ת הָאָ֔רֶץ הִשְׁאִ֖יר רַב־טַבָּחִ֑ים לְכֹֽרְמִ֖ים וּלְיֹגְבִֽים׃

‎13 ‏וְאֶת־עַמּוּדֵ֨י הַנְּחֹ֜שֶׁת אֲשֶׁ֣ר בֵּית־יְהוָ֗ה וְֽאֶת־הַמְּכֹנ֞וֹת וְאֶת־יָ֧ם הַנְּחֹ֛שֶׁת אֲשֶׁ֥ר בְּבֵית־יְהוָ֖ה שִׁבְּר֣וּ כַשְׂדִּ֑ים וַיִּשְׂא֥וּ אֶת־נְחֻשְׁתָּ֖ם בָּבֶֽלָה׃

‎14 ‏וְאֶת־הַסִּירֹ֨ת וְאֶת־הַיָּעִ֜ים וְאֶת־הַֽמְזַמְּר֣וֹת וְאֶת־הַכַּפּ֗וֹת וְאֵ֨ת כָּל־כְּלֵ֧י הַנְּחֹ֛שֶׁת אֲשֶׁ֥ר יְשָֽׁרְתוּ־בָ֖ם לָקָֽחוּ׃

‎15 ‏וְאֶת־הַמַּחְתּוֹת֙ וְאֶת־הַמִּזְרָק֗וֹת אֲשֶׁ֤ר זָהָב֙ זָהָ֔ב וַאֲשֶׁר־כֶּ֖סֶף כָּ֑סֶף לָקַ֖ח רַב־טַבָּחִֽים׃

‎16 ‏הָעַמּוּדִ֣ים׀ שְׁנַ֗יִם הַיָּ֤ם הָֽאֶחָד֙ וְהַמְּכֹנ֔וֹת אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂ֥ה שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה לְבֵ֣ית יְהוָ֑ה לֹא־הָיָ֣ה מִשְׁקָ֔ל לִנְחֹ֖שֶׁת כָּל־הַכֵּלִ֥ים הָאֵֽלֶּה׃

‎17 ‏שְׁמֹנֶה֩ עֶשְׂרֵ֨ה אַמָּ֜ה קוֹמַ֣ת׀ הָעַמּ֣וּד הָאֶחָ֗ד וְכֹתֶ֨רֶת עָלָ֥יו׀ נְחֹשֶׁת֮ וְקוֹמַ֣ת הַכֹּתֶרֶת֮ שָׁלֹ֣שׁ אמה אַמּוֹת֒ וּשְׂבָכָ֨ה וְרִמֹּנִ֧ים עַֽל־הַכֹּתֶ֛רֶת סָבִ֖יב הַכֹּ֣ל נְחֹ֑שֶׁת וְכָאֵ֛לֶּה לַֽעַמּ֥וּד הַשֵּׁנִ֖י עַל־הַשְּׂבָכָֽה׃

‎18 ‏וַיִּקַּ֣ח רַב־טַבָּחִ֗ים אֶת־שְׂרָיָה֙ כֹּהֵ֣ן הָרֹ֔אשׁ וְאֶת־צְפַנְיָ֖הוּ כֹּהֵ֣ן מִשְׁנֶ֑ה וְאֶת־שְׁלֹ֖שֶׁת שֹׁמְרֵ֥י הַסַּֽף׃

‎19 ‏וּמִן־הָעִ֡יר לָקַח֩ סָרִ֨יס אֶחָ֜ד אֲ‍ֽשֶׁר־ה֥וּא פָקִ֣יד׀ עַל־אַנְשֵׁ֣י הַמִּלְחָמָ֗ה וַחֲמִשָּׁ֨ה אֲנָשִׁ֜ים מֵרֹאֵ֤י פְנֵֽי־הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר נִמְצְא֣וּ בָעִ֔יר וְאֵ֗ת הַסֹּפֵר֙ שַׂ֣ר הַצָּבָ֔א הַמַּצְבִּ֖א אֶת־עַ֣ם הָאָ֑רֶץ וְשִׁשִּׁ֥ים אִישׁ֙ מֵעַ֣ם הָאָ֔רֶץ הַֽנִּמְצְאִ֖ים בָּעִֽיר׃

‎20 ‏וַיִּקַּ֣ח אֹתָ֔ם נְבוּזַרְאֲדָ֖ן רַב־טַבָּחִ֑ים וַיֹּ֧לֶךְ אֹתָ֛ם עַל־מֶ֥לֶךְ בָּבֶ֖ל רִבְלָֽתָה׃

‎21 ‏וַיַּ֣ךְ אֹתָם֩ מֶ֨לֶךְ בָּבֶ֧ל וַיְמִיתֵ֛ם בְּרִבְלָ֖ה בְּאֶ֣רֶץ חֲמָ֑ת וַיִּ֥גֶל יְהוּדָ֖ה מֵעַ֥ל אַדְמָתֽוֹ׃

‎22 ‏וְהָעָ֗ם הַנִּשְׁאָר֙ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ יְהוּדָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר הִשְׁאִ֔יר נְבֽוּכַדְנֶאצַּ֖ר מֶ֣לֶךְ בָּבֶ֑ל וַיַּפְקֵ֣ד עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם אֶת־גְּדַלְיָ֖הוּ בֶּן־אֲחִיקָ֥ם בֶּן־שָׁפָֽן׃ פ

‎23 ‏וַיִּשְׁמְעוּ֩ כָל־שָׂרֵ֨י הַחֲיָלִ֜ים הֵ֣מָּה וְהָאֲנָשִׁ֗ים כִּֽי־הִפְקִ֤יד מֶֽלֶךְ־בָּבֶל֙ אֶת־גְּדַלְיָ֔הוּ וַיָּבֹ֥אוּ אֶל־גְּדַלְיָ֖הוּ הַמִּצְפָּ֑ה וְיִשְׁמָעֵ֣אל בֶּן־נְתַנְיָ֡ה וְיוֹחָנָ֣ן בֶּן־קָ֠רֵחַ וּשְׂרָיָ֨ה בֶן־תַּנְחֻ֜מֶת הַנְּטֹפָתִ֗י וְיַֽאֲזַנְיָ֙הוּ֙ בֶּן־הַמַּ֣עֲכָתִ֔י הֵ֖מָּה וְאַנְשֵׁיהֶֽם׃

‎24 ‏וַיִּשָּׁבַ֨ע לָהֶ֤ם גְּדַלְיָ֙הוּ֙ וּלְאַנְשֵׁיהֶ֔ם וַיֹּ֣אמֶר לָהֶ֔ם אַל־תִּֽירְא֖וּ מֵעַבְדֵ֣י הַכַּשְׂדִּ֑ים שְׁב֣וּ בָאָ֗רֶץ וְעִבְד֛וּ אֶת־מֶ֥לֶךְ בָּבֶ֖ל וְיִטַ֥ב לָכֶֽם׃ ס

‎25 ‏וַיְהִ֣י׀ בַּחֹ֣דֶשׁ הַשְּׁבִיעִ֗י בָּ֣א יִשְׁמָעֵ֣אל בֶּן־נְ֠תַנְיָה בֶּן־אֱלִ֨ישָׁמָ֜ע מִזֶּ֣רַע הַמְּלוּכָ֗ה וַעֲשָׂרָ֤ה אֲנָשִׁים֙ אִתּ֔וֹ וַיַּכּ֥וּ אֶת־גְּדַלְיָ֖הוּ וַיָּמֹ֑ת וְאֶת־הַיְּהוּדִים֙ וְאֶת־הַכַּשְׂדִּ֔ים אֲשֶׁר־הָי֥וּ אִתּ֖וֹ בַּמִּצְפָּֽה׃

‎26 ‏וַיָּקֻ֨מוּ כָל־הָעָ֜ם מִקָּטֹ֤ן וְעַד־גָּדוֹל֙ וְשָׂרֵ֣י הַחֲיָלִ֔ים וַיָּבֹ֖אוּ מִצְרָ֑יִם כִּ֥י יָרְא֖וּ מִפְּנֵ֥י כַשְׂדִּֽים׃ פ

‎27 ‏וַיְהִי֩ בִשְׁלֹשִׁ֨ים וָשֶׁ֜בַע שָׁנָ֗ה לְגָלוּת֙ יְהוֹיָכִ֣ין מֶֽלֶךְ־יְהוּדָ֔ה בִּשְׁנֵ֤ים עָשָׂר֙ חֹ֔דֶשׁ בְּעֶשְׂרִ֥ים וְשִׁבְעָ֖ה לַחֹ֑דֶשׁ נָשָׂ֡א אֱוִ֣יל מְרֹדַךְ֩ מֶ֨לֶךְ בָּבֶ֜ל בִּשְׁנַ֣ת מָלְכ֗וֹ אֶת־רֹ֛אשׁ יְהוֹיָכִ֥ין מֶֽלֶךְ־יְהוּדָ֖ה מִבֵּ֥ית כֶּֽלֶא׃

‎28 ‏וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר אִתּ֖וֹ טֹב֑וֹת וַיִּתֵּן֙ אֶת־כִּסְא֔וֹ מֵעַ֗ל כִּסֵּ֧א הַמְּלָכִ֛ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר אִתּ֖וֹ בְּבָבֶֽל׃

‎29 ‏וְשִׁנָּ֕א אֵ֖ת בִּגְדֵ֣י כִלְא֑וֹ וְאָכַ֨ל לֶ֧חֶם תָּמִ֛יד לְפָנָ֖יו כָּל־יְמֵ֥י חַיָּֽיו׃

‎30 ‏וַאֲרֻחָת֗וֹ אֲרֻחַ֨ת תָּמִ֧יד נִתְּנָה־לּ֛וֹ מֵאֵ֥ת הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ דְּבַר־י֣וֹם בְּיוֹמ֑וֹ כֹּ֖ל יְמֵ֥י חַיָּֽו׃

Vul

1 Factum est autem anno nono regni ejus, mense decimo, decima die mensis, venit Nabuchodonosor rex Babylonis, ipse et omnis exercitus ejus, in Jerusalem, et circumdederunt eam: et exstruxerunt in circuitu ejus munitiones.

2 Et clausa est civitas atque vallata usque ad undecimum annum regis Sedeciæ,

3 nona die mensis: prævaluitque fames in civitate, nec erat panis populo terræ.

4 Et interrupta est civitas: et omnes viri bellatores nocte fugerunt per viam portæ quæ est inter duplicem murum ad hortum regis. Porro Chaldæi obsidebant in circuitu civitatem. Fugit itaque Sedecias per viam quæ ducit ad campestria solitudinis.

5 Et persecutus est exercitus Chaldæorum regem, comprehenditque eum in planitie Jericho: et omnes bellatores qui erant cum eo, dispersi sunt, et reliquerunt eum.

6 Apprehensum ergo regem duxerunt ad regem Babylonis in Reblatha: qui locutus est cum eo judicium.

7 Filios autem Sedeciæ occidit coram eo, et oculos ejus effodit, vinxitque eum catenis, et adduxit in Babylonem.

8 Mense quinto, septima die mensis, ipse est annus nonusdecimus regis Babylonis, venit Nabuzardan princeps exercitus, servus regis Babylonis, in Jerusalem.

9 Et succendit domum Domini, et domum regis: et domos Jerusalem, omnemque domum combussit igni.

10 Et muros Jerusalem in circuitu destruxit omnis exercitus Chaldæorum, qui erat cum principe militum.

11 Reliquam autem populi partem quæ remanserat in civitate, et perfugas qui transfugerant ad regem Babylonis, et reliquum vulgus transtulit Nabuzardan princeps militiæ.

12 Et de pauperibus terræ reliquit vinitores et agricolas.

13 Columnas autem æreas quæ erant in templo Domini, et bases, et mare æreum quod erat in domo Domini, confregerunt Chaldæi, et transtulerunt æs omne in Babylonem.

14 Ollas quoque æreas, et trullas, et tridentes, et scyphos, et mortariola, et omnia vasa ærea, in quibus ministrabant, tulerunt.

15 Necnon et thuribula, et phialas: quæ aurea, aurea, et quæ argentea, argentea tulit princeps militiæ,

16 id est, columnas duas, mare unum, et bases quas fecerat Salomon in templo Domini: non erat pondus æris omnium vasorum.

17 Decem et octo cubitos altitudinis habebat columna una: et capitellum æreum super se altitudinis trium cubitorum: et retiaculum, et malogranata super capitellum columnæ, omnia ærea: similem et columna secunda habebat ornatum.

18 Tulit quoque princeps militiæ Saraiam sacerdotem primum, et Sophoniam sacerdotem secundum, et tres janitores.

19 Et de civitate eunuchum unum, qui erat præfectus super bellatores viros: et quinque viros de his qui steterant coram rege, quos reperit in civitate: et Sopher principem exercitus, qui probabat tyrones de populo terræ: et sexaginta viros e vulgo, qui inventi fuerant in civitate.

20 Quos tollens Nabuzardan princeps militum, duxit ad regem Babylonis in Reblatha.

21 Percussitque eos rex Babylonis, et interfecit eos in Reblatha in terra Emath: et translatus est Juda de terra sua.

22 Populo autem qui relictus erat in terra Juda, quem dimiserat Nabuchodonosor rex Babylonis, præfecit Godoliam filium Ahicam filii Saphan.

23 Quod cum audissent omnes duces militum, ipsi et viri qui erant cum eis, videlicet quod constituisset rex Babylonis Godoliam, venerunt ad Godoliam in Maspha, Ismahel filius Nathaniæ, et Johanan filius Caree, et Saraia filius Thanehumeth Netophathites, et Jezonias filius Maachathi, ipsi et socii eorum.

24 Juravitque Godolias ipsis et sociis eorum, dicens: Nolite timere servire Chaldæis: manete in terra, et servite regi Babylonis, et bene erit vobis.

25 Factum est autem in mense septimo, venit Ismahel filius Nathaniæ filii Elisama de semine regio, et decem viri cum eo: percusseruntque Godoliam, qui et mortuus est: sed et Judæos et Chaldæos qui erant cum eo in Maspha.

26 Consurgensque omnis populus a parvo usque ad magnum, et principes militum, venerunt in Ægyptum timentes Chaldæos.

27 Factum est vero in anno trigesimo septimo transmigrationis Joachin regis Juda, mense duodecimo, vigesima septima die mensis: sublevavit Evilmerodach rex Babylonis, anno quo regnare cœperat, caput Joachin regis Juda de carcere.

28 Et locutus est ei benigne, et posuit thronum ejus super thronum regum qui erant cum eo in Babylone.

29 Et mutavit vestes ejus quas habuerat in carcere, et comedebat panem semper in conspectu ejus cunctis diebus vitæ suæ.

30 Annonam quoque constituit ei sine intermissione, quæ et dabatur ei a rege per singulos dies omnibus diebus vitæ suæ.
