Le Livre du Prophète Ésaïe
Chapître 43
- 1
- But now thus saith1 the LORD that created6 thee, O Jacob, and he that formed6 thee, O Israel, Fear4 not: for I have redeemed1 thee, I have called1 [thee] by thy name; thou [art] mine.
- 2
- When thou passest through4 the waters, I [will be] with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow4 thee: when thou walkest4 through the fire, thou shalt not be burned;11 neither shall the flame kindle4 upon thee.
- 3
- For I [am] the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour:56 I gave1 Egypt [for] thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.
- 4
- Since thou wast precious1 in my sight, thou hast been honourable,8 and I have loved1 thee: therefore will I give4 men for thee, and people for thy life.
- 5
- Fear4 not: for I [am] with thee: I will bring55 thy seed from the east, and gather17 thee from the west;
- 6
- I will say4 to the north, Give up;3 and to the south, Keep not back:4 bring54 my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth;
- 7
- [Even] every one that is called12 by my name: for I have created1 him for my glory, I have formed1 him; yea, I have made1 him.
- 8
- Bring forth54 the blind people that have eyes, and the deaf that have ears.
- 9
- Let all the nations be gathered8 together, and let the people be assembled:11 who among them can declare55 this, and shew55 us former things? let them bring forth4 their witnesses, that they may be justified:4 or let them hear,4 and say,4 [It is] truth.
- 10
- Ye [are] my witnesses, saith7 the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen:1 that ye may know4 and believe55 me, and understand4 that I [am] he: before me there was no God formed,8 neither shall there be after me.
- 11
- I, [even] I, [am] the LORD; and beside me [there is] no saviour.56
- 12
- I have declared,52 and have saved,52 and I have shewed,52 when [there was] no strange5 [god] among you: therefore ye [are] my witnesses, saith7 the LORD, that I [am] God.
- 13
- Yea, before the day [was] I [am] he; and [there is] none that can deliver56 out of my hand: I will work,4 and who shall let55 it?
- 14
- Thus saith1 the LORD, your redeemer,6 the Holy One of Israel; For your sake I have sent14 to Babylon, and have brought down52 all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry [is] in the ships.
- 15
- I [am] the LORD, your Holy One, the creator6 of Israel, your King.
- 16
- Thus saith1 the LORD, which maketh6 a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters;
- 17
- Which bringeth forth56 the chariot and horse, the army and the power; they shall lie down4 together, they shall not rise:4 they are extinct,1 they are quenched1 as tow.
- 18
- Remember4 ye not the former things, neither consider113 the things of old.
- 19
- Behold, I will do6 a new thing; now it shall spring forth;4 shall ye not know4 it? I will even make4 a way in the wilderness, [and] rivers in the desert.
- 20
- The beast of the field shall honour17 me, the dragons and the owls: 3284 because I give1 waters in the wilderness, [and] rivers in the desert, to give drink53 to my people, my chosen.
- 21
- This people have I formed1 for myself; they shall shew forth17 my praise.
- 22
- But thou hast not called1 upon me, O Jacob; but thou hast been weary1 of me, O Israel.
- 23
- Thou hast not brought52 me the small cattle of thy burnt offerings; neither hast thou honoured14 me with thy sacrifices. I have not caused thee to serve52 with an offering, nor wearied52 thee with incense.
- 24
- Thou hast bought1 me no sweet cane with money, neither hast thou filled52 me with the fat of thy sacrifices: but thou hast made me to serve52 with thy sins, thou hast wearied52 me with thine iniquities.
- 25
- I, [even] I, [am] he that blotteth out6 thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember4 thy sins.
- 26
- Put me in remembrance:54 let us plead11 together: declare16 thou, that thou mayest be justified.4
- 27
- Thy first father hath sinned,1 and thy teachers56 have transgressed1 against me.
- 28
- Therefore I have profaned17 the princes of the sanctuary, and have given4 Jacob to the curse, and Israel to reproaches.
