Chapître 13

A wise son [heareth] his father's instruction: but a scorner5 heareth1 not rebuke.

A man shall eat4 good by the fruit of [his] mouth: but the soul of the transgressors6 [shall eat] violence.

He that keepeth6 his mouth keepeth6 his life: [but] he that openeth wide6 his lips shall have destruction.

The soul of the sluggard desireth,102 and [hath] nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.29

A righteous [man] hateth4 lying: 8267 but a wicked [man] is loathsome,55 and cometh to shame.55

 Righteousness keepeth4 [him that is] upright in the way: but wickedness overthroweth17 the sinner.

There is that maketh himself rich,102 yet [hath] nothing: 3605 [there is] that maketh himself poor,114 yet [hath] great riches.

The ransom of a man's life [are] his riches: but the poor6 heareth1 not rebuke.

The light of the righteous rejoiceth:4 but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.4

Only by pride cometh4 contention: but with the well advised12 [is] wisdom.

 Wealth [gotten] by vanity shall be diminished:4 but he that gathereth6 by labour shall increase.55
