Chapître 63

1

A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah.
O God, thou [art] my God; early will I seek¹⁷ thee: my soul thirsteth¹ for thee, my flesh longeth¹ for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

To see² thy power and thy glory, so [as] I have seen¹ thee in the sanctuary.

Because thy lovingkindness [is] better than life, my lips shall praise¹⁷ thee.

4

Thus will I bless¹⁷ thee while I live: I will lift up⁴ my hands in thy name.

My soul shall be satisfied⁴ as [with] marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise¹⁷ [thee] with joyful lips:

When I remember¹ thee upon my bed, [and] meditate⁴ on thee in the [night] watches.

Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.¹⁷

8

My soul followeth hard¹ after thee: thy right hand upholdeth¹ me.

9

But those [that] seek¹⁷ my soul, to destroy [it], shall go⁴ into the lower parts of the earth.

10

They shall fall⁵⁵ by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes.

But the king shall rejoice⁴ in God; every one that sweareth¹² by him shall glory:¹⁰¹ but the mouth of them that speak⁶ lies shall be stopped.¹¹
