Le Livre des Psaumes

Chapître 2

1
Why do the heathen rage,1 and the people imagine4 a vain thing?

2
The kings of the earth set101 themselves, and the rulers6 take counsel8 together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, [saying],

3
Let us break17 their bands asunder, and cast away55 their cords from us.

4
He that sitteth6 in the heavens shall laugh:4 the Lord shall have them in derision.4

5
Then shall he speak17 unto them in his wrath, and vex17 them in his sore displeasure.

6
Yet have I set1 my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

7
I will declare17 the decree: the LORD hath said1 unto me, Thou [art] my Son; this day have I begotten1 thee.

8
Ask3 of me, and I shall give4 [thee] the heathen [for] thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth [for] thy possession.

9
Thou shalt break4 them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces17 like a potter's6 vessel.

10
Be wise54 now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed,10 ye judges6 of the earth.

11
Serve3 the LORD with fear, and rejoice3 with trembling.

12
Kiss16 the Son, lest he be angry,4 and ye perish4 [from] the way, when his wrath is kindled4 but a little. Blessed [are] all they that put their trust6 in him.
