Le Livre de Job
Chapître 32
- 1
- So these three men ceased4 to answer2 Job, because he [was] righteous in his own eyes.
- 2
- Then was kindled4 the wrath of Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the kindred of Ram: against Job was his wrath kindled,1 because he justified15 himself rather than God.
- 3
- Also against his three friends was his wrath kindled,1 because they had found1 no answer, and [yet] had condemned55 Job.
- 4
- Now Elihu had waited14 till Job had spoken, because they [were] elder 3117 than he.
- 5
- When Elihu saw4 that [there was] no answer in the mouth of [these] three men, then his wrath was kindled.4
- 6
- And Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered4 and said,4 I [am] young, 3117 and ye [are] very old; wherefore I was afraid,1 and durst4 not shew15 you mine opinion.
- 7
- I said,1 Days should speak,17 and multitude of years should teach55 wisdom.
- 8
- But [there is] a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.4
- 9
- Great men are not [always] wise:4 neither do the aged understand4 judgment.
- 10
- Therefore I said,1 Hearken3 to me; I also will shew17 mine opinion.
- 11
- Behold, I waited52 for your words; I gave ear55 to your reasons, whilst ye searched out4 what to say.
- 12
- Yea, I attended113 unto you, and, behold, [there was] none of you that convinced56 Job, [or] that answered6 his words:
- 13
- Lest ye should say,4 We have found1 out wisdom: God thrusteth him down,4 not man.
- 14
- Now he hath not directed1 [his] words against me: neither will I answer55 him with your speeches.
- 15
- They were amazed,1 they answered1 no more: they left off52 speaking.
- 16
- When I had waited,52 (for they spake17 not, but stood still,1 [and] answered1 no more;)
- 17
- [I said], I will answer4 also my part, I also will shew17 mine opinion.
- 18
- For I am full1 of matter, the spirit within me constraineth52 me.
- 19
- Behold, my belly [is] as wine [which] hath no vent;11 it is ready to burst11 like new bottles.
- 20
- I will speak,17 that I may be refreshed:4 I will open4 my lips and answer.4
- 21
- Let me not, I pray you, accept4 any man's person, neither let me give flattering titles17 unto man.
- 22
- For I know1 not to give flattering titles;17 [in so doing] my maker6 would soon take me away.4
