Le Livre de Job
Chapître 10
- 1
- My soul is weary1 of my life; I will leave4 my complaint upon myself; I will speak17 in the bitterness of my soul.
- 2
- I will say4 unto God, Do not condemn55 me; shew54 me wherefore thou contendest4 with me.
- 3
- [Is it] good1 unto thee that thou shouldest oppress,4 that thou shouldest despise4 the work of thine hands, and shine52 upon the counsel of the wicked?
- 4
- Hast thou eyes of flesh? or seest4 thou as man seeth?2
- 5
- [Are] thy days as the days of man? [are] thy years as man's days,
- 6
- That thou enquirest17 after mine iniquity, and searchest4 after my sin?
- 7
- Thou knowest that I am not wicked;4 and [there is] none that can deliver56 out of thine hand.
- 8
- Thine hands have made14 me and fashioned4 me together round about; yet thou dost destroy17 me.
- 9
- Remember,3 I beseech thee, that thou hast made1 me as the clay; and wilt thou bring me into dust again?55
- 10
- Hast thou not poured me out55 as milk, and curdled55 me like cheese?
- 11
- Thou hast clothed55 me with skin and flesh, and hast fenced34 me with bones and sinews.
- 12
- Thou hast granted1 me life and favour, and thy visitation hath preserved1 my spirit.
- 13
- And these [things] hast thou hid1 in thine heart: I know1 that this [is] with thee.
- 14
- If I sin,1 then thou markest1 me, and thou wilt not acquit17 me from mine iniquity.
- 15
- If I be wicked,1 woe unto me; and [if] I be righteous,1 [yet] will I not lift up4 my head. [I am] full of confusion; therefore see thou mine affliction;
- 16
- For it increaseth.4 Thou huntest4 me as a fierce lion: and again4 thou shewest thyself marvellous101 upon me.
- 17
- Thou renewest17 thy witnesses against me, and increasest55 thine indignation upon me; changes and war [are] against me.
- 18
- Wherefore then hast thou brought me forth52 out of the womb? Oh that I had given up the ghost,4 and no eye had seen4 me!
- 19
- I should have been as though I had not been; I should have been carried93 from the womb to the grave.
- 20
- [Are] not my days few? cease3 2308 4 [then, and] let3 7896 4 me alone, that I may take comfort55 a little,
- 21
- Before I go4 [whence] I shall not return,4 [even] to the land of darkness and the shadow of death;
- 22
- A land of darkness, as darkness [itself; and] of the shadow of death, without any order, and [where] the light55 [is] as darkness.
