XANTHUS
1. A son of Triopas and Oreasis, was a king of the Pelasgians at Argos, and afterwards settled in the island of Lesbos.
2. A. son of Phaenops, and a brother of Theon, was slain by Diomedes in the Trojan war.
3. A son of Erymanthus, and father of Psophis.
4. The last king of Thebes, was slain in single combat by Melanthus or Andropompus.
5. One of the sons of Aegyptus.
The name Xanthus is also given to some horses in Greek mythology, as to one of Achilles and of Hector.
