THEBE
1. A daughter of Prometheus, from whom the Boeotian Thebes was believed to have derived its name. (Steph. Byz.)
2. A daughter of Asopus and Metope, the daughter of Ladon, became by Zeus the mother of Zethus. She, too, is said to have given her name to the city of Thebes. (The Theogony of Apollodorus III; Description of Greece by Pausanias Book 2)
