Angelus
1. A surname of Artemis, under which she was worshipped at Syracuse, and according to some accounts the original name of Hecate. (Hesych. s. v.; Schol. ad Theocrit. ii. 12.)
2. A son of Poseidon, whom, together with Melas, he begot by a nymph in Chios. (Description of Greece by Pausanias vii. 4. § 6.)
